Loved the walk through the wilderness, but I think we would get completely lost so thanks for showing us round this wonderful place.

Thank you so much Ted and Carol! Yes, I'll be doing Part 4 in about a week; should be a more straightforward one next time. Yes, I was surprised by both how little this Way is used, and how poorly signposted (and overgrown) it is in places. And, don't get me started on the gates! The Cotswold Way it is not! However, I like the fact you have the place to yourself when walking it - it is a very rural (and, I feel, little known) part of Wales. I am thoroughly enjoying it - and want to savour it too. It will change completely as we get into Worcestershire and head south..... Thanks again, Paul 🙂

Beautiful hike! I enjoyed the lovely hills and the cute lambs. 😀 I like your style of narration - cheerful and gentle. 😊

Thank you - that's how I would describe your narration! Yes, I was surprised how little used this upper section of the trail is - after all, it is the longest river in England & Wales, and it is probably the second most well known (after The Thames). Although, I suppose, you don't get to see much of it on this bit. Like you say though, lovely hills. Thanks again for watching and commenting, take care, Paul.

Wales is beautiful but also known for its rain, glad it cleared up for you 🙂

Hello Paul - greetings from Poland That was a delightful walk, despite being unable to walk beside the Severn. I guess becuase of rights of way/private land etc. Gorgeous woodland, beautiful scenery and landscapes. I enjoyed your commentary and pieces to camera - gave perspective to what we were looking at and where we were. The need for a good map and the proper clothes and footwear was very evident. I was surprised just how little the Severn Way was walked. Superb video. Looking forward to part 4.

Thank you Michael! Yes, it is to do with land rights sadly, but we do get much closer to Sabrina as we steadily progress north east towards the national border. Thanks again, Paul

Ah, once again a wonderful video, thoroughly enjoyed that…I was surprised how long it was before you could see the Severn again, i was under the impression you could walk it all but I guess with private land you just cannot do it… anyway.. onto part 4. Thanks Paul for your hard work in bringing us this video 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Lee, yes, somewhat annoying, parts of the Severn Way are some distance from the river, particularly in Wales. However, for much of the lower sections it hugs Sabrina most of the way to Bristol. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul, the adventure continues, pity about the weather at he start. I quite enjoyed the new filming style - information on the move and lots of wonderful scenery shots, I felt I was walking with you. I also noticed that in your pieces to camera you were illustrating the subjects as you mentioned them. Very good as apparently our attention spans are ridiculously short!! Keep going. Ron

Thank you Ron. Yes, you noticed the deliberate change! Glad you liked the new format. The previous format I had used throughout the Cotswolds Way too, and thought I'd try and make it more immersive this time - like you say, as if someone is doing the walk too. I filmed it all on the one camera, same lens, same mic - and no vlogging type shots at all (tripod only). In some ways I found it easier, especially editing. So, I may stick with it for the rest of the series. Yes, it is definitely wetter in that part of the world! Hopefully, next one will be drier. Thanks again, appreciate the comment, take care, Paul 🙂

There were plenty of hills & valleys. At some stages you needed a scythe or machete, though they might not let you on a train with those. Wales is wonderfully green because of the incessant rain.

Thank you 😊 Yes, the Severn Way is a surprisingly little walked long distance path, considering how well known the river is. And, very overgrown in places. But, I am enjoying walking it and making these videos. Thanks again, Paul 🙂👍

Another excellent video with some beautiful views. Crossed that bridge many times in a car on my home from the Welsh coast. It can get a bit slow to cross if there is something on the large size coming the opposite way. Keep the videos coming although sometimes it takes me a few days before I view them, they don't always show. I think it's You Tube playing silly things. Keep safe.

Hi John, yes, RU-vid does tend to stagger out when it sends out notifications of new video uploads. No one is sure why it does this! Glad you enjoyed the video though. I have done 6 videos in the Severn Way series now, and I am off to do 7 over the next couple of days! Thanks again, take care, Paul.

Perhaps a controversial view, but I would like "Parkinsons Walks to comment. I see on the map that an old railway track follows the Severn between Llanidloes and Caersws. The Railway designers seemed to have more sense than the modern creators of the Severn Way. I live in the Forest of Dean where a similar stupid situation occurs. The Offa's Dyke footpath avoids Offa's Dyke whereas the still dramatic Offa's Dyke is on open access Woodland Trust land. Still, I suppose there are advantages because I never saw a soul when I explored it.

Hi John, yes I did point out the old railway to Llanidloes, including a line of fence posts in the video as I was approaching Caersws. It is a little annoying that the Severn Way takes you on a circuitous route in parts (but not as we head into Worcestershire, and south of there), but it is a very beautiful landscape, and you get a sense of the valley shaped by the river as you pass through it. I guess it is all to do with land ownership, and access rights, as I have come across making other videos, including particularly The Thames & Severn canal. Thanks for watching and commenting. Paul
