shifting form a classical pianist to a contemporary one is hard as you wont get accustomed to the style and practical stuff. but it will take time. remember, one step at a time. don’t get overwhelmed by the vast topics and tread slowly! happy practicing! 🤙

Hello! I would like to say that you have taught my everything I know about jazz piano so far, and you will continue to teach me. I just wanted to show my appreciation for you, and this channel, along with ask a question. I was thinking of listening to some other jazz pianist to learn from what they do, and implement it to what I do, (pretty sure I heard you say something like that before) and I was wondering if you have any recommendations for me. If it helps, my favorite type of jazz is a kind of almost funky, if you know what I mean. I might be using the term jazz wrong, but what your doing is definitely my favorite. Anyway, cheers ❤ Edit: I think what I'm referring to is blues piano, so if you have recommendations for *blues pianists* to listen to.
@benimoo7894
@benimoo7894 2 года назад
thelonious monk is a favourite of all. also fats waller. remember, listening is part of practice! it sub consciously registers the sound and notes in your brain, so it will definitely help you improve (im speaking from experience here as a singer). also, if you are into Neo soul, check out a channel called Noah Kellman. he also does these types of tutorials. happy practiciting! 🤩

@@benimoo7894 What about Chord Progression Dude
@benimoo7894
@benimoo7894 2 года назад
@@_immanuel_yt a chord progression is always taken from a scale. for example, take E major scale. each note has its own chord. so first chord: E G# B F# A C# G# B D# and so on. the chords have their own types like diminished, dominant and many more. I don’t think ill be able to explain about it so here is a simple video you might find useful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xGYTkR8lcNg.html hope you found it useful and basically you can make a chord progression form the scale’s notes itself. people say play a 2-5-1 prog because they actually mean “play the 2nd, 5th and 1st chord of the particular scale” happy practicing! 😸
