The game is interesting to watch and the music is pretty damn solid, but I do have one complaint though. The way everyone is treating the player character makes no sense by the end of the game. Especially with the _'he loved you, wanted to be like you, died with Reggie'_ and his reaction to _seeing_ you at the end when you save him, etc. If you *_are_* him, how the 'eff can he speak to you like you were some elderly father figure or something? It makes no damn sense.

Blackemperess I think it's meant to be along the lines of Lucas always wanted to be a man like Boone but he was too young and immature, while Boone being the older and wiser version of Lucas understood how to not only forgive but actively fight his demons instead of taking the 'easy' and extravagant way out and continuously blaming himself. I think that when Ellie mentioned that 'maybe Lucas would be more like Boone when he's *more mature*' she's directly suggesting that he is the older version of Boone. As for the guests treating him differently you could say that Boone was a different person than Lucas in that he had changed completely over the years due to what had happened, and so since it's his memories he's revisiting, and forgiving himself, he now has a different role in those memories, he's the person who can now set everyone free instead of torturing them and himself so that he never forgets them.

Boone was a different person tha Lucas. They both were gamblers while Boone managed to renounce gambling and become religious. I think the idea is that since Lafcadio is a different person that knew Lucas and was obviously friends with him everyone treated him like he was supposed to be there. He supposedly died with reggie in the chapel as part of the time loop but then the bloody lady managed to break him out of it. Now however since this game does take place in the memories of an old man the version of Boone that we get is what Lucas wanted himself to be. A more mature person able to forgive himself and move on from the mistakes of his past where as Gold Skull represents the opposite. Of course Lucas didn't realize that he was talking to himself until the reveal at the very end.

I agree. And the proof that our Lafcadio is Lucas hmiself is in 2:04:26 when we get to hear the window breaking and the falling corpse in the garden... it's Boone! Ergo, he felt from the glass of the chapel due to a gunshot (remember the Bible and the empty stand while looking for the third guest?) where Reggie was shot. The one we are playing is the Marquis

I literally cried for the last around 15 minutes of this, because of how heavy and deep this game goes into things, self-loathing and the need to suffer to atone for sins.

You know? This game has the vibe of the movie "The Red Inn" with Gerard Jugnot (based on real events. :/ ). A priest along with other travellers gets to an inn where the owners steal and murder their guests. Taking advantage of the presence of the shepherd, one of the inn owners confesses everything they have done to this point and that they are about to do the same with these travellers (save for the priest). The poor Holy Man will have to try and prevent these murders without revealing that he has heard in confession (job rules). The ending is hilarious but I won't spoil it. It was a curious feeling to notice the simmilarities.

I'm going to have to find the movie the red inn now. I would love to see the similarities as I found this game to be a lot of fun!

Other interesting idea is the fact that this all happens inside Lucas'head and yet, it gives you the feeling of La Divina Commedia of Dante (sad story with happy ending genre, hence the double m) and yes, a bit of Lost, the hell devil- Beatrice angel routine. Every character dies according to its faults and its saved using the same logic according how did Lucas felt about them. It's an interesting idea. The fact that he kills all of his guests is a way to bring the blame on someone else and then admit by saving them that is your fault. Deep thoughts, very deep

Tequila's puzzle, for some reason, stumped the ever loving crap out of me. I can't believe it was this simple! Arg... me and puzzle games are a no no lol

It is a good game, but the story is just... meh. I think the best take on "inside the mind" puzzle game was in the Wispered World. It was great. Everything clicked just right. In this one it's just unbearable at times. So boring and dumb. Like all these "unintentional spoilers" in what characters say throught the game. They're just so obvious, like authors just push them in your face.
