No running up and down the stage, no profanities, no screaming at the audience, pure musicianship. When you are this good, all the rest is unnecessary!
I AM 79 STILL LISTENING TO THIS TUNE FOR PAST 60 YEARS THE GREATEST EVER LED BY HANK MARVIN THE LEAD GUITARIST I LISTEN TO IT ATLEAST 30 TIMES IN A YEAR NON STOP IMMORTAL MUSIC
In 1975, I was captivated by the enchanting sound of a guitar playing "Apache." Fast forward to 2024, and I found myself once again immersed in that same sensation. The music resonated with my soul, effortlessly transporting me back in time and compelling my spirit to sway with the enchanting melodies and rhythms. The rendition of "Apache" by The Shadows remains unparalleled.
Every time I hear this I think of my late grandfather who had passed away 1 year ago 😢 He was a self taught guitarist and could play just about anything you’d throw at him! The Shadows were his favourite… As a young bloke I would sit and listen to him for hours on end making the guitar sing😇 R.I.P Pop missing you everyday and I promise I will never stop playing your tunes 🎸🎸🎸
Indeed , he influenced : Marvin influenced many British rock guitarists, including George Harrison,[11] Eric Clapton,[11] David Gilmour,[11] Brian May,[12] Mark Knopfler,[11] Peter Frampton,[13] Steve Howe,[14] Roy Wood,[15] Tony Iommi,[16] Pete Townshend,[17] Jeff Beck[18] and Jimmy Page.[19] Australian guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel has also paid homage to Marvin on various recordings.[citation needed]
I'm 75 and i still listening to the music that toch my soul then and now. I thank God for the memories of a life lived in a generation that will never be matched again.
Hank's guitar tone is the most incredible sound I think I've ever heard ;) I'm 17 years old, devoted to metal and yet this is by far one of my favorite songs and favorite bands, just amazing :')
My father would be 69 this year, unfortunately he's gone. When I was a child he played Apache on his guitar for me. This was my first favorite song! Today I like to make music by myself (HipHop and DnB) and the apache is always with me !!! Thanks to Jerry Lordan and the shadows !!! this song rockz for more than 50 years now - unbelievable !
I am 61....I play this song to my grand kids on my own Burns Guitar.....Thank you to the Shadows, because without you, I would never have learned to play.
This is simply THE MUSIC forever. Wonderful, amazing, you can listen it thousands of times, and it is marvellous, how it sounds, and how it was played be THE SHADOWS. Time goes by, but this music lives forever.
Hank is just an Artist in guitar, the way he holds the tremolo and the way he is actually a good guy inspires me to be something like him. Thanks Hank and Thanks to the Channel..
I'm 23 and just heard this song on the radio for the first time. I was immediately smitten and looked them up. They're fantastic! I'm jealous you got to experience them in their prime.
Not even on my top 20 list, and I love this style. Two examples of much better guitar musics of the same time/style: 1) The millionaire I love many versions, this is my favorite: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TBppY779y24.html 2) Also much better than Apache: Baja ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UHbcU5ArqBQ.html Look for musics of the Ventures, like Walk Don`t Run 64 (much better than Walk Don`t Run, by the way), Pipeline, The Lonely Bull, The Cruel Sea, and many others. Apache is good, of course, but keep looking for more fantasric guitar music.
The greatest guitarist of all time, and forever! Unforgettable and eternal Apache, Wondeful Land, etc. I have this DVD and will never part with it because it is a treasure.
I think the best period of life on the globe is the 60 's 70 's and 80's, I'm 42 years old, I thank God that I was part of the golden years and I was a child and I listened to music and wonderful art with my big family.💗🎸
Hank Marvin one of the greatest Guitar player. I danced my heart out to all thier music, Oh those days were great. no fear walking in the dark back then.
Hank has always had a sunny, open countenance that makes him instantly likeable. When he has the opportunity to work his genius before a crowd, he glows. He has always embodied a quiet elegance and unforgettable style.
Thanks to the Shadows, I became interested in guitarplaying I was fascinated by their sound ever since I was 14 years old and over the years I bought a lot of Shadows records later on at the age of seventeen I tought myself how to play the guitar by listening to their music and trying to play simultaniousely to Hank's lead guitar and I was quite successful in doing so later on I could even play most of the songs blindly on my Stratocaster or Telecaster with a small band backing me up on Bass and Drums, and so we performed for some of our friends in the Seventees. I would like to thank the Shadows for their good inspirations that I received from their music over the many years that I have been playing guitar, now I am slowing down with my playing due to age but I am still enjoying playing and I always will. I thank the Shadows for all the good music you gave us, you have been a good inspiration for many guitar-players all around the world. Thank you so much! Best wishes, Chris G. from Vienna, Austria
Now I'm 75 and my American chum (64) has just discovered the Shadows. Let's play Apache he said, looking at my fiesta red Strat. And in 2 weeks time we'll be on stage doing it. Still crazy after all these years. Apache lives on!
When I first heard it in 1963 I had just joined the army and all I wanted to do was dance. It still has the same effect on today at 76 years of age and if I live to 90 it will still do the same. Keep playing Hank.
I started listening to them (and eventually other British pop and rock groups too) in the early 1960s when I was around 4. They were the reason that I ended up playing in a band later during teens and Apache was a number we always performed. We still play this number today when my band members and I get together for fun and jamming. Thanks to the Shadows for such wonderful songs and to ingoleg for posting the video.
How many times we must have listened to this song since 1965 when my brother got the record , in the celebrations and parties we had at home at Rsomead place with all the family ! 🙂 👍
What a gem, I actually love and appreciate it more now than when it was a hit (and I was very young). I saw The Shads with Cliff @ the London Palladium when I was about 7/8 I think and it was my first experience of a musical theatre performance. I was spellbound! I still get tingles listening to Apache, it is so iconic.
I never got see The Shadows, but was able to see The Ventures, at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, Ca, back in the early 80s. Also great musicians!!
