I really don't see the issue with the Billy Joe photo shoot part. It was genuinely just paying homage to a pretty iconic photo from the punk scene by two well known punks in that era I feel. As someone who has mental illness and who has been a victim of domestic violence, i certainly didn't think it was romanticising those topics but I respect it if others felt differently.

Other shade issues would include Lolita and Selektion(which she renamed, because of the backlash) Claiming the only reason J* is successful is because of her is insane. He makes well over what she does, OWNS his makeup brand himself, and owns or is a part of a bunch of other businesses. He made smart investments, he also could have got in touch with a cosmetics lab without her recommendation. Jesse james seems to have a fetish for Nazis, look up Michelle McGee, and he was pictured in Nazi garb and doing a Nazi salute. Her current husband has a swastika with a star of David inside of it tattooed on his neck. So it would appear that she has a type. She also reposted a fans photo of the concealer being held in front of a cotton field (no issue with the photo itself), but she captioned it with "Let Lock-It concealer do all of the hard work for you" Also, shes an antivaxxer. You cant cover the shady side of KvD without bringing up her antisemitic, racist, and antivax stances.

amber chem x she didn't have antisemitic lipstick names. 'Selektion' (the name of one of her lipsticks) only has an offensive connotation in German when applied to humans. It's their other word for 'selection' ('Auswahl' being the main one) when there is a screening process of some kind involved -- hence why offensive when applied to a human. It makes sense when applied to a makeup product.

I always knew Kat was...not a smart person, but I bought her makeup because of the color selection (ignoring its lack of staying power, which sucks). I can't afford to throw away all the several hundred dollars of makeup I've already bought from her brand, but I absolutely will not buy anything else from her.

When she started appearing on Miami Ink (first as a guest), I remember she was different. Her fashion and makeup style was similar (though a lot lower quality) but she was a lot more humble, friendly and down to earth, particularly reverential of the older guy in that shop (edited: Ami James). She also had some more weigh on and a different body shape, as well as a different nose and eyes. When I heard of LA Ink I thought I'd watch it because I liked her. I couldn't stand a single episode. The instant switch in her personality to an egomaniac freak, and the obvious physical changes to fit into a more "tv like" image disgusted me. Everything I've heard from her since point out to a not very nice person and the typical case of "riding the drama wave" to stay relevant. The only thing that at least makes sense is that she's a vocal anti-trump-er. Considering she comes from immigrant family (her parents or at least one of her parents is Argentinian), and that she is close to the LGBTX community, that I can understand. For the rest, she gets involved in issues she has no clue on, just for the sake of ego and publicity.

It is possible for celebrities to remain relatively private but most can't keep off social media and feel the need to let the world know how they feel about things and what they're doing; Like Kat telling the world she not going to vaccine her child. Most celebs have big egos and put themselves out there for it.
I haven't done enough research as to why ppl are so against vaccines with proof or anything. My kids are vaccinated but I've met kids older and young adults with no problems and super healthy. Some way healthier than vaccinated ones. Not everyone will catch something and die.

This reminds me of the time a girl called me an ableist on facebook for captioning a photo of myself with: "I look more noticeably physically disabled here" (I am physically disabled btw, and have been since a serious accident I was in), but she had the nerve to call me an ableist over my words and proceeded to argue with me despite me doing everything to avoid such an experience.

I used to love Kat, saw her as an idol being a young girl watching Miami ink and wanting to go into the tattoo industry. After realising her true self I stopped seeing her as an inspiration and started seeing her as a disappointment. Jeffree is a genuine entrepreneur, an inspiration to young people world wide showing you can go from nothing to everything if you put the work in.
I’m gonna play devils advocate here. The controversies regarding her choice in lipstick names are petty and I personally think she just felt victim to snowflake culture. The poster shoot? Cmon..”romanticizing mental illness”? I think that’s a bit of an exaggeration 🙄 I’m not saying I agree with all the other dumb drama she dumped on herself but I just had to defend those ones because I think it’s a bit ridiculous. As a Latina, it’s hard to find women like her who represent us. I always respected her as an artist with edgy style and a diverse cultural background. Growing up Latino, no one else dressed like me, loved rock or the subculture like Kat does. I’m going on a rant here but I just want to say, she’s not that bad.
I didn’t know about any of this except that she was on LA Ink. I use Kat vonD makeup because it’s really good makeup and beautifully packaged. Extra points for it also being vegan. It sounds like she needs someone to go over her ideas a bit. I love the idea of the Sid & Nancy promotion. Try the makeup. It exceeds expectations.
