Robert Lynch I watch smchoes and collider all the time. I have subscribed to both their channels. Don't know what you mean by 95% accuracy. However Kristian and Mark can be a little bias at times. Anyways Just saying you should not go by one review to determine a movie. Not everybody has the same taste in film.
Robert Lynch Thanks. I my opinion though, movies are subjective. It's never a fact whether it's bad or good. I myself will look at reviews just to hear other opinions but in the end if I want to see a movie, bad review or good, I'm going to see the movie.
Just saw the movie and was very surprised by how much I loved it! Nancy was a great character now one of the most badass female leads in a thriller I've seen, since she survived the Worlds greatest predator! Plus she seemed like a real person and was very relatable. I think this was the best performance of Blake Lively that I've ever seen! I cried at the climax and was happy with the ending. Love, love, LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blake Lively surprised me, the theater I saw it in today was packed! Great Thriller. (Devil 2010) Still My #1 Thriller, but this takes #2. I was only thrown off from the beginning scene of the boy wandering through... i would have just started it off with her in the car getting to "Paradise" then save the title logo for the end of the film. I believe its a summer MUST-SEE. Heres 5 Reasons Why. #1 Its less than 2hrs #2 It'll keep you on the edge of your seat #3 You'll care for Blake Lively supporting character.. Lol #4 There's no dull moments. #5 Its Summer! The Waves & Everything look Beautiful. Worth the money though. :)
I love that you can see the power of sexuality and that it can be done without bigotry. It is a quite powerful instrument in this genre. Sexuality is great, Sexism is total bullshit! A woman can be both powerful and sexy at the same time. Perhaps that is why man has feared woman in history for so long. We all know that our mothers had the real power, while our father's simply wore the face of discipline; the finger on the hand that points. I just bought this on blu ray today and have NOT yet watched it. I just know this is going to be a killer thriller! And who doesn't love sharks....and Blake Lively ;)
So far it has a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I think I know what I might be checking out this weekend. ;) Plus, could it technically be "Gravity" in an ocean?
I just can't be sold on a movie where a shark exhibits behavior nothing like a real shark does. Or, don't tell me this on some Deep Blue Sea fantasy thriller style with a genetically cerebral augmented shark?
I am slowly becoming obsessed with Blake Lively haha I enjoyed this movie but actually feel kind of like a hater because everyone else is just LOVING it. Great review as always!
Thanks Grace! I will definitely check it out upon streaming. I was a little skeptical about another shark film after the dredge of horrible films. But from the trailers I can see it's more of a passion project than a cheap cash-in. Thanks again!
I'm glad you're budget conscious Grace, I truly appreciate that, but I don't know many film students who could get ahold of that "not a lot of money" budget of $17 million. I know what you meant i'm just being overly nitpicky. I'm so happy Blake Lively is getting the recognition she deserves. Her acting potential really showed in Adaline so I've had faith in her for some time.
Hi, Grace. I just want to say that I came across your channel a few weeks ago and I've been really enjoying what you have to say about both the content and the business of the movies we all love (or love to hate). Your insight, coupled with your opinions, make for enjoyable viewing to the point where you're now my go-to reviewer for everything movies. I was ready to give this movie a pass. Now I think this may be the perfect outing for my wife and I this weekend. Love what you do!
To me, this movie is like Buried. YES, you're stuck in that one location for the runtime. But it's the tension and anxiety you feel that makes it awesome. Hoping that somehow, the lead will come out okay. This movie is something I am highly looking forward to
Great review!!! I'm going to see it.I could careless if she is stuck on a rock, or not.I love shark movies and any other kind of animal attack type movies, like Ghost in the Darkness, Black Water etc, just saying.
Hummm we shouldn't be upset about eye candy because it's the legacy of female characters in horror movies ? That's a pretty shitty legacy imo. Other than that, good review, you made me want to see the movie even though that's not usually my kind of movies ^^
I saw a screening last night. It was so good for suspense and getting me on the edge of my seat. It was vivid and had some very intense scenes. I, honestly was surprised. I am a film student at USC and I can say this movie was a great inspiration on how you can stay in a very enclosed location on a tight budget and make a good movie out of it. Also, thank you grace for everything you do, I watch your vids everyday, and I like how informative you are with all of your vids!😅😊🙂😜😝😉🙃😋😂😅😊😎😀😃😄🤗😋🤓🤓😜😎🤓😋☺️😉😃😂😇😆😅😀😄🤓😎😍🙂🙃☺️😆😇😂😅😀😄😉😃☺️😜😎🤓
i think your GLOWING review of BvS just kinda ruins your reviewer cred, Grace...and if you wanna convince anybody to spend an hour and a half watching Blake Lively in a bikini...do it to a DUDE...
Dear Grace,It's my birthday today. I know you are not doing Morninh Movie News and viewer questions, so I request that you review trailer 2 of Ms Pergines Home for Peculiar Children. Love your show and watch it even if you are traveling. ❤️From, Sabine
This was my wild card for the summer. Props to Blake Lively. 100% agree that luck has to do with landing parts but this movie was lucky to be as good as it is. I'm not saying cast and crew weren't up for it, but there's that famous line of "You don't know you're making Jaws even if you're making Jaws." Also like Jaws, more and better creativity comes out of when you have a limit. Jaws had limitations and wasn't a $200 m or had bloated budget. Even Deadpool to some extent.
Nice review, I agree with your review and tend to agree with most of your reviews. I love sharks movies, So I illustrated my own to add to the genre In graphic novel format because I can't afford to make a movie. check it out! Killer Break graphic novel on Amazon Kindle. its a free download till Saturday the 2nd. give it a review and pitch your you tube channel on Amazon kindle, I hope everyone enjoys it. Surf's up! you gained a subscriber.
Hey Grace, I really appreciated your review of The Shallows. Unfortunately I won't be watching it in theaters because I'm more of a horror/thriller person when I'm in my own home and can pause/skip through the movie. But really great review. I love how you're doing your reviews recently! They're organized so nicely!
Another great review grace...I Just love BTT, so I took in a movie the other day, The free state of Jones. It was good I liked it, but as always I was forced to smuggle in a healthy snack to the movie theater because there is no healthy alternatives. Do you think that there is a neish market somewhere within movie watching for healthy snacks. Like for instance what if there was a cup of fruit or vegetable tray with dip, possibly even hummus and pita bread. I'm not a parent but if I was and I was taking my children to the movies I would be much more inclined to do so if there was healthy snacks. You could corner the market cutie be the subway to the fast food market brand it with your name beautiful smile good luck with BTT and also what about a nostalgic look at movie reviews like Grace reviews her 10 favorite movies of all time or 10 favorite drama's and comedy's horror movies. Good Job Grace your reviews are getting awesome.
Just came home from seeing it. Liked it a lot. I agree that the ending is a little bizarre, but, like you said, it's basically a horror thriller, and how many of those have strange or slightly disappointing endings.....? Blake Lively was awesome, great performance, and the movie was, as you said, very well directed. I think too many people will think "Jaws" as soon as they realize there's a shark in the movie, and since nothing could ever compare to that iconic classic, people likely think this movie will suck even before entering the theater. But I think it's almost more like the original Halloween or Nightmare on Elm Street than it is like Jaws. The trappings are different, but the core of it is very similar.
Great to hear that it came out alright, Grace !!! I thought they may have screwed up great concept when I saw CGI shark swimming in high speed in a trailer (笑´・艸・) Kek.
The trailer for this movie came up as an ad, and I thought, eh why not watch the trailer? And afterwards I was speechless. It wasn't an amazing trailer, but movies like that never catch my eye. I'm definitely gonna go see it.
Thanks for the review Grace so excited to see this because shark flicks are my favorite genre! Will there be a spoiler review? I sure hope so can't wait to see the Shallows and love your videos!!!!!
Maybe a few more movies down the road Slasher films can get Annabelle level success. Unless this one snags that somehow. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Grace. This movie was not even on my radar before. Definitely something I'd like to stream but also not a bad matinee for those who are horror fans and want to see something decent.
I like graces review because she knows what she's talking about:) and can u please review the new Harry Potter ilvermorny video and the new hero clip for fantastic beasts
Went opening night with a bunch of friends and had a blast! This movie was so dope! I never go to the Movie theatre and have waiting to see this movie sense the trailer dropped. GO SEE IT!!!
As a latin american the Cantinflas movie that came out a few years ago is offensive to both Cantinflas and the legacy he left behind and to latino people in general, honest to goodness one of the worst things to come out of the film industry in recent years, London has Fallen level offensive.
If this is a scary movie I'm out but for my dad he might be in if he heard of the movie and I want to see independence day resurgence but I know I won't see it in theaters
Hello Grace!!! So... I guess I'll go and see this movie in theaters. I love thrillers I loved the Liam Neeson-on-a-plane one and I have always feared/stood in awe with sharks, so your review settles it, Grace. Thanks =D
