I think chemical guys makes great shampoos. Glossworkz is my favorite. They foam great. Could be a little more lubrication but overall they are great. Can't wait to see what optimum can do. Thanks B
I'm with you on the whole chemical guys thing. This and citrus wash and gloss are the only ones I use. They totally need to stream line their range of products. Great video as usual 👍
I knew it!! Good deal & great review Brian. The CG Glossworkz is my absolute favorite shampoo. I have the gallon that is only about a third remaining. I’m like you on CG products. I’ve ventured out to other suppliers & brands. Gotta rap into Angelwax soon but this shampoo will always be in my cabinet. I truly believe Chemical Guys have the best shampoos. It may stop there but they’re good. Good day Brian
I’ve been using GlossWorkz for a while now and really like the extra gloss it leaves behind. My other favorite is Surf City Garage Pacific Blue. It has incredible slickness. I find myself reaching for the Surf City more than GlossWorkz.
Thanks for the interesting and helpful review. I have a black 370Z that has been coated with the Opticoat Pro+ ceramic coating that I have been using Optimum's M-Wash to keep clean. Recently, I started using this product and have been impressed with it, especially with the gloss it leaves behind. It's nice not having to use another step to apply a quick detailer to get a super glossy finish.
look up the 1.1 mm orifice manly for electric pressure washers any washer unit under 2 GPM usually will need smaller orifice for maximum foam the part is like 5 bucks cant go wrong brother also homedepot has budget swivel for the gun/wand mate you can not live without it once used
Hey Brian have you ever heard of changing out the orifice in the foam cannon to a small diammiter when using a lower psi pressure washer. I have a 2000psi electric pressure washer and use the chemical guys foam cannon and I didn't get the rich/thick foam even with the honeydew snowfoam . After changing the orifice I got amazing thick foam...the smaller orifice was $12 with shipping.
Totally agree on the one bucket, with sound prep and execution. I am done lugging three to the car wash. One thing I found most soaps lacking is lubricity. Bought a gallon of wolfgang uber mainly for making detail spray two oz's of concentrate in my five gallon along with an oz of megs hyper wash and slickness for days. Glossworkz is decent for sure however bet it would be even better with a boost of uber.
Only kind of complaint is that if you have put a lot of work into your paint this car wash will mask super tight beads if that's your thing. I freaked out initially because I thought I lost my protection but it was just masked. Out of curiosity I bought it again for my neighbor who said he was looking for some car wash stuff and the price was reasonable and I know his car will never get a wax anymore than a drive through car wash. I take it for a quick test spin before giving him the bottle and the flatness of the water was actually kind of nice especially whenever you flood the panels and I had very minimal water spotting as a result. I will say that it looks really good though.
A little late to comment on this video but I just picked up some of the Gloss Workz and can't wait to try it out myself. I'm not a big fan of Chemical Guys products in general but they do have a few gems and this seems like one of them.
Thanks Brian, for another great video. I just got the CG Glossworks and plan to use it soon on my black 370Z. I had been using the Optimum M-Wash, since I have an Opticoat Pro+ ceramic coating on my car but the stuff was just too expensive. I also like your wash method, which very closely parallels my own that I find works very well. I use eight chenille microfiber noodle mits and one bucket and also recycle the wash solution.
Why do you call Grit Guards silly? In your Adam's shampoo video you mentioned using it. I don't have a garage and work in an industrial facility. So, after a week there is a good layer of dust/dirt on my car. The Grit Guard allows me to scrub my mitt and help release the dirt. I love it.
Just my opinion. Not needed at all. My mitts do not go back into the clean shampoo bucket. Grit guards do nothing for the smaller particles floating above the guard... which still scratch and swirl.
Do you plan on testing Limitless Car Care Limitless lather? I’ve never tried it and was curious of your thoughts. Thanks for your informative reviews. Good stuff!
Hi Apex, off topic question, Can you use Plumbers Putty in place of clay bar ? There is a detail shop on youtube that shows this and state that in their high volume detail shop it is just as effective as a conventional clay bar and pennies on the dollar. Just wondered what your thought are? Thanks
Missy.. I only use clay when absolutely necessary... clay for automotive use has minor abrasives to remove bonded contamination. I will stick to automotive clay. 😃
Been following a long time. I understand your comment about wash method, but it’s more expensive to buy 6 mitts than it is to have 3 buckets ;). If you live in a water restricted area, then ONR is there for you. lol
Hello Brian I was just looking at youtube videos on the WORX HYDROSHOT lol trying to decide on 20v or 40 v and may two back up batteries, how long have you had the WORX HYDROSHOT (I must have missed your video) lol
Brian, how many ounces did you add to the Snow Foam mix and how many ounces for the Contact wash bucket which looked like it was 5 gallons? Thank you for a terrific video as always.
I’m sure all of these soaps are great but Man they are expensive. Glossworkz is 50 bucks a gallon. I think I’ll stick with my 22 dollar per gallon Meguiars gold class.
Have you ever tried Meguiars hyper wash? I really love it for a PH neutral soap. Tons and tons of suds and incredible lubrication. One of the most slick shampoos I’ve used.
Hi Brian. CG Glossworkz Auto Wash is my go to shampoo. However I now want to use Tac Systems Shinee Wax as a topper but my concern is next time I wash the car with Glossworkz I would be layering over Shinee Wax so the benefit of Shinee Wax will be gone. Am I right?
Brian have you tried changing the orifice in the foam cannon to a 1.1mm? I've heard that it really helps with the electric pressure washers. Love the videos!
