I have two shampoos in my garage. The CHemical Guys GlossWorkz and the Surf City Garage Pacific Blue Wash & Wax. Both provide that noticeable high gloss you were referring to. The GlossWorkz is a little more concentrated than the Pacific Blue, so you need to use less GlossWorkz to produce the same level of foam. The only advantage in the Pacific Blue, in my opinion, is the high level of slickness it provides between the wash pad and the clear coat. I love using both products- GlossWorkz is a fantastic product! But the Pacific Blue provides a crazy slippery feel under the wash mitt like no other shampoo I have ever used. Great video Jon. You're reviewing more and more products that are available here in the states. Big thumbs up!
Outstanding review and demonstration Jon, I love their Glossworkz glaze and due to your video here I will definitely be trying out the soap! Love your videos!
Hi Jon I use this shampoo for my maintenance washes and Chemical Guys' Citrus Wash & Gloss in high concentrations as a stripper soap. Citrus Wash & Gloss in low concentrations also is an effective maintenance shampoo but it is not PH neutral.
Thanks for the review Jon. I've just started using this shampoo on my black 370Z and it does indeed leave behind a very nice gloss. I use a concentration of about 1/2 oz per gallon of water in my prewash soak and in my hand wash and it foams and cleans well. I do add a little of the CG rinseless wash to the shampoo for the added slickness and increased lubricity.
Great review :) I like the chemical guys shampoos but my favourite at the moment is Auto Finesse Lathershake. It gives a nice foam when your using it and I like the idea of no gloss enhancers or wax in it so the finish is down to the wax or sealant I used last.
Excellent review. Used it for first time today, you were not wrong, definitely could see it gave extra gloss and could feel it was on there too. Going to try the Butter Wet Wax as a topper like you suggested soon. Cheers
Looks very exciting. I've just ordered this and the Glossworkz Glaze just to try out on my sister's very pretty but flat-as-a-fart Mini RagTop in Pepper White (the Vanilla Peril). Will be my go-to if they are any good and make that gorgeous colour pop like it should.
Good video again John 👍 quick question, I've been doing a bit of binge 'forensic detailing' watching and noticed you haven't done much on AutoBrite Direct have you looked at their products much? Awesome range and selection of products but nothing ground breaking in my opinion. Seem to have a huge fan base for some reason though?
Thank you Jon , I have tried Glossworkz old batch with old label it gives nice gloss as I read this shampoo formula is 50/50 mixing with QD technology. I found Dodo Sour Power gives nice gloss too but Dodo Juice Born to be Mild shampoo contains no gloss enhancer but it leaves best finish "Squeaky clean finish".
Wow dude great review. I was goina buy this over honeydew and polish and seal after. Glad i ran into ur vid bcuz ive saw dozens and they provided no info besides it looks glossy
Some shampoos I like: BH Auto-Wash - great for prepping the car for waxing or sealing CG Citrus Wash & Gloss - good stuff for maintenance washes in low concentration. Can be used to strip wax in high concentration but I prefer BH Surfex HD followed up with BH Auto-wash CG Mr. Pink - good for maintenance washes and since it's pH neutral it's quite safe for waxes and sealants What I currently use: since my car is coated with Korrek Cure coating I'm currently using their Korrek Reload shampoo that maintains the coating. Also did a friend's car with Gyeon Mohs coating last weekend and will be testing Bathe+ for maintenance washes. Also told my dad to try it, we just sealed his car with fk1000p so the idea is that Bathe+ would provide an additional layer of protection but let's see how it works out.
Remember.. There is gloss boosting in all chemical guys shampoos! Look at their page and you will see that! I use glossworx almost all the time because it is really slippy and slick, Mr.pink is also really good, but glossworx is just a little bit better.
Sounds like good stuff. I could have a place for this one. Would be excellent in winter when you just want a quick wash and can't be arsed with any extra stages.
I do my shopping list by your recommendations :) Next one to the bucket.e I lately bought one good product of koch chemie you haven't had tested with brand review. Protector wax is rinse aid/spray and rinse wax and does something similar as this shampoo. Used in hand sprayer in dillution of 1:100-1:50 on a wet car it sits even on Sonax BSD. Heard it stays up to a month but couldn't keep that long without touching the car with something elese. This one is good for lasy winter when you have your protection on a car and you need a quick sucrificial layer to top it even after quick foam-rinse action. I was totally blown away by the shine this one offers for such efortless application easily outperforming most of spray products you have to work on. Have I mentioned it is cheap? :)
It really does leave a high gloss behind, a neighbour complimented my car after washing with it once and I told them I haven't even put a product on yet! How is adding wetcoat ontop of gloss works will it bind ok? Wax I think there are no problems
I can yes.. Im always looking for USP.. Carpro reset doesnt appear to have any major USP I have not covered.. although it does sound like its been carefully formulate to provide more potent cleaning combined without stripping coatings.. Ive heard lots of good things about it.. so could well feature it in the future.
Forensic Detailing Channel Fair enough mate, have you looked at Gyeon bathe +? It leaves a great Si02 protection behind, it's not just your typical wash and wax shampoo. It's very hydrophobic too.
since it is on the market for such a long time I don't think it cointains sylazanes as any other warner chemicals products, water behavior doesn't not match the bathe+ at all and it would be also very cheap and they would point out if it have some sio2 in it.. But anyhow it gives you freshly waxed look after a wash, it's unexpensive, foams well, pretty good shampoo in my eyes.. Currently I've went thru a bottle of BIlt Hamber autowash, going back to Car Pro Reset for a while, occasionaly using Bathe+ on a coated car.
Hi Jon, saw you using the shampoo as the Americans do thru a snowfoam lance, my worry with these types of shampoo's is leaving a waxy residue on the windscreen, how do you combat this.?
hey graeme this product doesnt contain wax.. I dont know if the gloss boosting agents are drawn to glass like paintwork. I have not noticed any issues with the glass so far. I think as well if you are cleaning your glass at the end with a good glass cleaner I suspect that will be removing anything on the glass that is left behind (if anything)
Hi Damien, I would not no. I would just use C2v3 for additional protection and gloss. and I would look to wash the car with Gtechniq's shampoo product or something like carpro reset probably. thats just how I would do it.
Hi Jon, another channel has been talking about a pH neutral soap not really cleaning the paint properly and I was wondering what your thoughts were on this and if there is a place for a more heavy duty wash? Thanks
most car shampoos are forms of detergent or surfactant and the way they function chemically doesnt rely to much on where it sits on the PH scale. some products may well make use of acid or alkaline qualities. More typically with shampoo it could look to use alkaline forms of detergent like sodium hydroxide.. these are good at breaking down oil and grease... but they will also break down the protection you have on your car.. especially things like paste waxes... A lot of informed resources within the industry advise sodium hydroxide is not a great thing to use on clearcoats week in week out. but theres still a ton of car products that use it.. Its certainly effective at cleaning. Its good to have a mix of products that work for you.. I tend to use PH neutral soaps on my cars because if I clean them each weak the level of cleaning I need is minimal and the mitt is actually the thing doing most of the cleaning and Im more worried about making sure theres tons of suds to act as a lubricant... Sometimes though you will get a car thats caked in dirt and your going to be prep'ing it and polishing it and you want to use a more agressive cleaner to break down the dirt more efficently.. So its horses for courses really. I use PH neutral shampoo's generally on my cars, dont like the idea of using products loaded with sodium hydroxide week in week out... but its good to have harsher options available for effeciency...
just started following ur channel have 2 say u.have great channel and ur very informative and non bias .only thing is ur from UK but I won't hold that against u.lol..🍻🍻
there are probably more than a 1000 forms of silicone Fogmaster. When you say silicone doesnt last very long, its a bit like saying cars are not fast. It depends of the car. Some forms of modified silicone are used in protection products specifically because they will add durability to a blend. So linear forms are added to create slip and gloss in the formulation. lots and lots of reasons depending on the specific silicone product and what its been developed for.
Hi Jon. Given your techical expertise i couldnt think of asking anyone more knowledgeable! Can this shampoo be used on a car which is protected with Gyeon Q² CanCoat?
yes you can.. You could argue though. With cancaot you have a picked a product which advertises self cleaning surface propreties. And your going to bury it with whatever is in glossworks which sticks around. So I would maintain cancoat with a Gyeon product. Maybe bath+ or Gyeon wet coat.
Hi William here I have a 2017 Kia Sportage it has been protected with diamond Brite paint protection. Question is do I have to use diamond Brite shampoo and diamond Brite Conserver to keep top up the shine. Or can I use order brands like chemical Guys. Your sincerely William.
just use a good quality car shampoo most paint protections you get from a dealer is bullshit as they dont seem to apply it properly or its a sealant that may last six months and need to be re applied they sell you a paper warranty that says that you must come in and have it checked and that you you only washed it with there products so they can void it. always go to a reputable car detailer and do your research that way you can ask questions so you understand what you are buying
whenever i used glossworkz, i think it stripped my wax. when i rinse my car, the paintwork give a nice beading, but after i washed it with glossworkz and rinsed it down the paintwork not beading again. do you have that problem after washing your car with glossworkz?
Enrico Oenica its cause it leaves a residue that changes the water characteristics. Watch obsessedgarage vid where he visits the optimum polymer technologies center and they demonstrate soap wash residue
Hi Jon, CG Glossworkz Auto Wash is my go to shampoo. However I now want to use Tac Systems Shinee Wax as a topper but my concern is next time I wash the car with Glossworkz I would be layering over Shinee Wax so the benefit of Shinee Wax will be gone. Am I right?
I’ll break down your question - why do you want to use shinee wax? Moar gloss? If that’s the case you don’t need it. If it’s for protection why are you running glossworkz? You’re correct with the layering question. Next wash You’re just burying shinee wax. glossworkz rocks probably one of the best products CG’s has and I think it’s the best wash and wax formula on the market. You get the freshly waxed ℤ𝕚𝕟𝕘 every time you wash your car. Fantastic summertime shampoo. But it does clog up whatever is underneath it. I use a simple synthetic QD. I’ve been using turtle wax wax and dry as a drying aid it’s mega cheap and it does a great job drying your car. $5 and it’s all you need. Plays very well with glossworkz. Your car will look bangin. Shinee wax is great don’t get me wrong; it’s not what you want.
@@NipponStiqqyPaint yes I wanted more gloss hence why I wanted to apply Shinee Wax. Would my car look more glossy if I had this product on it instead of Glossworkz?
@@MK-uy5gs maybe. I can’t get TAC systems in the states and I’m not going to pay to bring it down from Canada. It’s something you’d have to play around with. I know it puts up great numbers. If your looking to maximize gloss on your car its not going to matter how much products your putting on the car. You’ll have to machine the paint. I’m not going to link turtle wax wax and dry. You can do a quick google. You shouldn’t be clicking other people’s random links, that’s bad practice.
Hi Phil Pro detailers. If you go to the channel homepage and look at the general update logs section I announce the new issues and talk about whats in them and where you can get them.. really cool if you are into detailing, I do some bits and piece for the magazine now and again.
