in SJ, he has a path to being the starter in only a year or two. In Nash... he had NO path for the next decade.

Not true...he had every foundation a netminder would want to learn from under the coaching of Mitch Korn and tutelage of Saros and likely Rinne who is still associated with the franchise.

@@brandonf24 You're looking at something different.. As long as Saros is on the team... He's going to be the #1 and anyone else won't get a chance to knock him off unless something unspeakable happens.. There is no path to being the starter in the next 5 years. In SJ, I do believe those guys are both in contract years meaning he'll have clear sailing to the #1 next season and maybe even this year with the unspeakable happenings (namely, someone getting hurt.. only wish that on politicians...)

...do y'all think he's gonna be the starter as soon as he gets there? Blackwood and Vanecek aren't stellar, but they are a competent tandem. Give Askarov an extra year and ~5-10 NHL callups before he has the weight of the crease on him.

Good the Habs didn't give up Jacob Fowler for Askarov.

From all of us here in Nashville, he's your problem now. Bahahahaha...this petulant, Russian kid said nope to the coaching and tutelage of Mitch Korn who coached Hasek, Rinne, and Holtby to hardware. 😂😂😂 He couldn't retain his crease in back-to-back postseasons and hasn't proven anything to play in the NHL. Preds went with the known, Vezina-caliber netminder for a reason.

Sharks need to build up Blackwood's trade value. He will not be in San Jose after this season.

The Sharks are definitely dumb by sending him down to the minors.
