Our first shelling episode! To start things off in style, we enlisted the help of Treasure Seekers Shell Tours(treasureseekersshelltours.com) out of Marco Island to take us out to Kice and Dickman islands for a half-day shelling tour. These islands had been worked over pretty hard for the past week before we got there due to other numerous tours and a lack of storms bringing in new shells during that week, but we still found huge piles of shells and came home with a really great assortment that's certainly worth sharing with you on video. And if you appreciate sand dollars like my wife does, then this is your video.

Those are great finds! The medium horse conch is a score! One can never have too many lacy murexes and angel wings. I’m enjoying your channel.

Thank you Diane for tuning in! We're happy to hear you're enjoying the channel. :) Yep, we agree with you 100%. Lacy murexes are amazing and medium horse conchs are one of my wife and I's top favorites. Tough to find sometimes, so when we find a pretty orange one in great condition, it's automatically a great day. Again, thank you for stopping by. :)

You had an amazing time, even though you said you were disappointed with not finding some of the rarer one, you found some of the most amazing usual ones 🤩 My favourite is the zigzag fighting conch, it’s so pretty!

Hi Maddie! Thanks for dropping by here and sorry for the delay in replying. Trust us when we say that this trip was far from disappointing and we had a wonderful time. We always do on these boat tours, even if we don't find a lot of shells. I hope one day you can join us! :) If you like zigzag fighting conchs, please check out Episode 11 that we're releasing today. We find are prettiest ever. I hope you've been doing well!

Hi, I really enjoyed coming along with y'all. You did a great voice over with your video, always appreciated. When you go on a shelling tour, how long are you typically on an island before you have to leave? I shelled a lot when I lived in Philadelphia and near Atlantic City (for work years ago) also on Galveston island. I need a fix soon 🙃it has been way too long! I look forward to more adventures with y'all!

Hi Angela! Thanks for watching and for the kind words. Really appreciated. We completely understanding about needing a fix. ;) If you take a 3 hour tour, you're usually on a single island for about 2 hours and 20 minutes. If you take a 4-hour tour, you'll be on 1 or 2 islands for about 3 hours and 20 minutes. It's remarkable how quickly that time goes by, so I recommend the 4 hour tour. There is a 6-hour tour also, but we haven't tried that one yet. Hope you're able to get to your next shelling adventure soon. Thanks again for tuning in!

hi Pat! Yes, we love them also. We don't sell our shells, and we only have a few good examples that are in our personal collection, but if we find another one that's similar to one we already have, we'll reach out to you and see if we can send one along to you.

@@theshellnuts great! Especially on Kice. There are so many shells and shelling spots. Specially in the mangroves that were dead before Ian, but taller and now have been mowed down. Around the roots you find alot of stuff and in the muck.

Gotta ask why the gloves???? Lol lol

Good question. :) We're getting older and trying to keep the sun spots to a minimum on our hands, so they're simply for sun protection. We prefer slipping these on over wearing sunscreen. They're lightweight and dry very quickly.
