I was a Make-A-Wish kid in 2003 and met many of the drivers at Martinsville. Robby was one of the nicest drivers I met, he took me inside his car hauler and showed me around. Jr. was the main driver I wanted to meet and he was really cool also. However out of all the other drivers Robby was the nicest driver. He really seem to enjoy talking and showing me around.

I used to work DSL Tech Support for AT&T. One time I get a call and when I bring up the ticket, it says "Robby Gordon Ent." I ask the guy I'm talking to, "Is this the same as Robby Gordon the race car driver?" He says, "Yeah, that's us." I asked him what it was like to work for Robby Gordon, he paused for a few seconds and then said, "Well, it ain't ever boring."

Robby has one AOWR shenanigan: "During his time in open-wheel, Gordon earned a reputation as a tough and sometimes overly aggressive racer. According to Gordon, though his decision to leave open wheel was based largely on "safety concerns," significantly more plausible an explanation to Gordon's estrangement from top-tier opened-wheel racing in North America is directly attributable to a high profile incident during the 1996 Grand Prix of Cleveland, where Gordon was evidenced to have exited his vehicle mid-race, after a mechanical failure, and while standing atop his car, Gordon kicked the Ford Motor Company logo on live national television." Always been a fan of Robby, agressive, talented, never cared about the rules, succeeded in everything he drove, just crazy seeing this guy on the track....one thing was for sure, he was going to give us something Even if it is spinning out Gordon, or JJ, or Tony, or Dale......yeah he had something against my favorite drivers😅

@@MajorOutage yes, he just had avery short temper and would waste his best chaces by doing something stupid, or simply not getting into so much trouble would help, incidents with guys like Jeff or Tony just don't do much for your career (not to mention Dale Jr)

Legit Robby is the reason I’m racing cars now. Met him back in 04 at Atlanta motor speedway when he did a signing. He chatted with me for probably 10min asked if I wanted to race. Told him yes but probably never would. Dude literally said “with that attitude you won’t. Just try and see what happens.” Sixteen years later here I am race license in hand.

Too bad you only covered on track shenanigans. My favorite Robby Gordon moment was in 2011 in the garage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway when he punched Kevin Conway. It was the culmination of a long running dispute. The previous year Conway drove a car owned by Gordon because Conway supposedly had sponsorship from “Extendz.” Turns out Extendz never paid up and Gordon was rightly pissed. Robby Gordon decided to settle the breach of contract dispute in his own way.

I call that last race "The Montreal Screwjob". I watched that entire race live on ESPN. It was so obvious that Nascar was looking for an6y reason to keep Gordon from winning that race. I have never seen anytime in Nascar where they penalize the car that was spun out! I loved Robbie's reaction. I was busting a gut watching him doing burnouts in Victory Lane with Harvick.

Just a couple of years ago, his father Bob Gordon commited a double suicide along with Robby's step-mother. It was a huge lost for Robby. I know his father was a race driver for SCORE. Bob Gordon ran in the Parker 400 when I was a kid from the 1980 to 84. My dad was a manager for Terrible Herbst at that time. We get these drivers stopping at the gas station including Robby's dad. ROBBY GORDON in the 55 car had always been the guy i cheered for since i had an interested in offroad racing. I watched that last race at Wlkins Glen Live and at a bar inwhich i was way too young to be in at the time, and lost my **** when nascar ****ed him. He did exactly what i would have done and that will always be one of the best races i have seen live! Great performance. Its a shame he didn't start out in nascar younger under a Richard Childress car when Dale was still around.
