The Shimano EP801 has motor over-run? 

Shimano just added a new update. Can you guys with EP801 check it out? New functions have been added to the assist settings. ・ The "assist carry over function" has been added to the assist settings. This 3-level selectable function allows you to select the duration that assist continues after pedaling stops.* ・ The "assist cutoff function" has been added to the assist settings. This 3-level selectable function allows you to select when the assist cutoff starts near the maximum speed limit.* ・ An aggressive assist character has been added to the assist settings. The characteristics of the existing assist character Lv15 have been changed to be more aggressive.*

Nope I have over run all the time . Love it!! I don't use the modes setting. I only use the assist levels and switch between them as needed. (This happens a lot less than you would think. On the trail generally level 2 and 3 maybe 4 when I start to get tied) Also derestricted to 35kmhr No more cutting out as I attack small rises plus easy fast transport to and from trail heads. Love this motor Just wish it was a gearbox as well as I do quite a few derailleurs due to my bad habit of following any game trails visible enough see or just making my own way

Only on ep801, or it can be done via shimano etube profesional to ep8 as well? I m moving to dji motor, shimano does not even has ep801 motors for sale only way is buying a new bike and i own a 2022 160e t1 that want to upgrade to ep801

👍So Bosch had little more over run😊. For Shimano to keep up with Bosch in competitions, they must at least go as fast, have the same over run and peek effect. This over run is of great advantage to avoid padel stike and therefore be able to maintain speed😊

Wonder when Bosch will release a new CX motor, isn't this from 2020/2021, but over the years just software updated? DO you think a cx 5 is around the corner? :)

This over run I got from bafang DIY kit bbs02 and I couldn't work it out what it was years ago! Shame the pro's start to bring this up! 😂

I found the overrun when changing gear ie you can still shift for a small amount of time after you stop pedalling.

Saying it’s only in Turbo is like saying it’s non existent… I love my Bosch CX and it’s overrun in all modes 🍻🍻
