He wasn't a genin level but of sanin level like he had awakened a weak version of 8th gates. And the same 8 gates with pure mastery was able to compete toe to toe with Madara in his full potential.

The idea that the 7Swordsman could take down a country isn’t far fetched because Sasori alone did it with his “Performance of a Thousand Puppets”. The country he destroy later becomes the Hidden Sound Village.
Some of the swords were cool, but I still think it's a big stretch to consider a giant sewing needle, paper towel dispenser and an axe tied to a mallet to be "swords".
The giant sewing needle I can understand still, it could be a sort of rapier-esque weapon and have some purpose for stabbing swordplay, but the others yeah… dafuq lmao

Probs one of the more based fights. You know how kakashi was recked for 3 days after for how much chakra he used. Back when there were rules as aposed to later episode kakashi using way more chakra but some how all g after a mud battle rest or just having more to spare
Zabuza arc was peak Naruto. Fights felt so intense without seeming super outlandish later down the line. It felt so raw and terrifying to behold the jutsus and subsequent strategies used to employ them. Eventually it just felt like every fight was "nuh uh my jutsu is stronger" later on in the series.
The fact: in manga Might Duy killed 6 out of 7 swordsmen. Only Fuguki (with Samehada) survived. Mangetsu wasn't in this formation of swordsmen he was much younger.
Swordsman who all depict themselves as demons or something along those lines would have nothing other than sharp teeth and a generational talent worthy of legend

Tbf, if an army of regular shinobi fought someone that mastered the 8 gates, they all would get slaughtered within the first minute. (You gotta think that the fight madara vs guy was only a couple of minutes long, since most of the fight before using Yagai was extremely slowed down)

After Duy incident only 3, Remain Fuguki, Mangetsu and Chojuro, what? After Duy 1 vs 7 the 7 swordsmen he killed 4, Unnamed Wielder of Hiramekarei, Jinin, Kushimaru and Jinpachi all died. The 3 that survived, Fuguki later killed by Kisame, Raiga later dies when he meets Naruto and Juzo later dies in land of water years later. Ameyuri became Wielder of Kiba the lightning blades after Raiga went rogue, she later dies at a young age to an illness. Mangetsu also joins at some point after Duy incident and later dies to an illness at a young age. Zabuza joins after Duy incident and gets executioner after Juzo’s death, he later dies in land of Waves arc. Kisame joins after killing Fuguki and takes Samehada and joins the Akatsuki. Chojuro joins much later between when the 3rd ninja war ended and when 4th war started, he’s currently still alive and is the 6th Mizukage.

I wish Mangetsu would have gotten more spotlight. He was built up to be this insanely strong prodigy, and we never even got to see him fight. We don't even know how he died.
That might be because guy really didn't remember him. Because at that time, kisame wasn't a part of 7 swordsmen. Kisame became one later in the show, so he missed the show with guy's pops
The actual reason was in part 1 Naruto, Kisame got kicked by Might guy when Itachi and he visited the Leaf to take naruto. But Guy forgot who Kisame was by the time of their second encounter in Shippuden
Lol, a shinobi who has mastered 8th gate of death can easily wipe out the entire Nation. The strongest shinobi in a nation is Kage and we have already seen how all 5 kage got bullied by Edo madara but Might guy bullied Ten tails Madara (Even if Madara was holding back, Might guy attacks nearly killed him, he even stated that Might guy is the strongest shinobi he faced until that time and not only that He also said Might guy bends space)

I think they would've been defeated easily. You see they were weaker than their own kage (considering Yagura fought both Juzo and Itachi at the same time, and still managed to kill Juzo), so I believe they would've gotten clapped rather easily by they Kages. Kakashi was able to defeat Zabuza, and at that time Kakashi was no where near kage level. What I mean by Kakashi not equal to being kage level is that fully grown adult Kakashi used to tremble in front of Orochimaru, and the kage of that time, (i.e., Hiruzen) put up a rather good fight against Orochimaru.
Plus he used 8 gates to beat them. Guy was able to take on Madara Uchiha while he was a 10 tails Jinchuriki and nearly killed him. 8 gates can grant unimaginable power.
Mangetsu is hyped by being the only one mastering all the swords, BUT the TV show did NOTHING with that fact, didn't even get a scene with him reanimated meeting with his brother Suigetsu, we don't even get to hear him talk. The guy gets beaten by Kakashi like it was no big deal.
That's the only nag I have about the shinobi alliance arc (and I saw it coming), they didn't have time to animate good fights so they just made all the "most powerful of their time" shinobi lose in dumb ways. Would have loved to see a mini series exploring all their personal arcs in detail
Fact :only 5 people in the entire show are known of taking down entire armys 1-madara uchiha we saw him do that in the 4 great ninja war where he fought almost half the alliance shinobi forces 2-minato namekaze:as mentioned in the manga minato took down 1000 shinobi alone even tho he alwaye tell his team never go solo always team fight 3-shisui uchiha:in the 3 great ninja war shisui was feared by all that he fought an entire army and the first they saw him they started running (the exact number was not shown in but shisui might have used his kotoamatsukami in the battle and control most the shinobis soo they must be quite a lot) Last:sasuke uchiha:he did it multiple time as he did fight 1000 of orochimaru high jonin level's who are at asuma level yet he did destroy them all without killing a single one of them He did it again in boruto manga where he fought more than 1000 keke genkai users and we all know that keke genkai is thr most broken power soo it's not any random shinobis Sasuke came to that arena beat one of the kids and challenge everyone at the same time the number wasn't clear but in the manga the raikage and the announcer said it was over 1000 maybe 2k maybe 9k who knows 5-nagato:we all saw what he did konoha -sasori i did add him as memorable mention because he killed more than 10k ninja and used them as a puppet we haven't see his feets but it was mention he took out a group of ninja and he could take a hole nation(village) Last we know there is hundreds of shinobis who can fight an entire army Such as hashirama,obito,might guy,konan,orochimaru But all those shinobis even tho they ate capable of doing that it's not mentioned they did it Tobirama max feet was against 10 ninja squad where he died against kenkaku and genkaku not worth mentioning about fighting an army
7 Swordsmen of the Mist being able to take down an entire nation is by no means an overstatement. It took 8 Gates Dai to beat them and even then he couldnt kill all of them.
