I'm considering moving to Springfield

YESSS!!! You mentioned THE COBRAS!!! Supposedly, the artist who created the present city seal snuck one into its design, even! One of the greatest public performance artworks EVARR!! ...yeahhh, been down there a few times. 😇 Still despondent over Vaughn's closing a few years back. Best sliders. Srsly. A dive into the cuisine clip is a must. I've described the town as "a very secret foodie haven", which it in fact is. Although some of the really landmark joints of the past are gone. I think Hambee's closed several years back, and I think Crosstown's gone too. But the truly excellent foreign cuisines are hard to beat...and of course, there's Mexican Villa. Got to be the one on National, tho. My partner and I are weighing out the idea of relocating down there, but it's likely to be several years off. But it's been something we've wanted...weird food town with Nashville-type amenities c. 1990, but with the business sensibility to tell all the wacky tourist traps to get the H*** down 65 and stay there. Very wise move! And having grown up in Nashville, I oughta know! 😅 Diggin' the SPFLD vids, nice stuff!

I wish you'd stop making me homesick. I have so many happy memories of living in Republic, and of the Springfield area in general. But now that the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids all have emigrated here, Noblesville IN is home, but I'll always have a warm spot in my heart for the Ozarks. Indeed, "Tis a privilege". I really miss Bass Pro. We have a Cabela's here, but you could take thst whole store, pick it up and place it inside any department in Bass Pro, and never find it! I miss places like Lambert's and Purple Burrito Express. I DO NOT miss those converging diamonds at all, but it's fun when you have gursts from out of town, snd you don't warn them! They stop speaking in the middle of a word! There's a lot more I miss, but I was taught in the Navy that "home is where you hang your white hat". But if'n I had my druthers, our white hats would be hanging in Reoublic, Missouri.
