Pretty funny whoever I bet on to win pretty much gets put to the brink of death then comes back and wins… Wilder, edwards, volkanovski when he fought ortega, Jones when he fought Gustafson.. Idk what it is.
I remember watching the fight live and I thought Fury was slept with the way he fell. He rose up like a man possessed. One of the best comebacks in history.
imo it was better than that. He looked at the ref counting and thought "I don't know where I am, I don't know who I'm fighting, I don't know what just happened, but I have to get up, right now". He didn't hesitate to react he just had to take a second to look at the ref and realize what was happening. Like he trained his whole life and his subconscious mind reacted to seeing the ref counting, just get the f up off the ground now. Figure the rest out later. Defeat didn't even cross his mind as a possibility, just single minded determination and will.
That’s not how it works dude. He didn’t will himself back up. His brain happened to snap back from unconsciousness at the right time before the count ran out. Stop acting like this is something Fury was able to do with sheer will.
If you watch the replay of when he fell. He landed on his left shoulder a little and not much his head. That saved fury and allowed him to finish. Dude is still from another atmosphere getting up from that right left.
@@guapodel well to be honest that left did do much damage. First hit did but until then Wilder has been thinking can he even knock out Fury. Mental take over by bad shape Fury. Wilder as usual was great shape.
@@Unknownbrand That would be sad if they would stopped it. Fury was out of shape but still manage to get up. Second fight showed a lot more even Fury was better in first also. Next fight will be difficult for Wilder. I think they choose him easy opponent so he might get his confidence up. Maybe.
Whenever people told me depression got better I never believed them, I always thought they were just comforting me. When Fury was making a come back I always liked the way he spoke about it, but almost took it as another kind of comforting method or narrative for this fight. It wasn’t until I saw him physically GET UP in R12 that I actually believed that maybe I could get better myself. Whenever I feel down, I watch those 40-50 seconds of him composing himself and getting up. I’m indebted to this man, he’s a true hero.
Tyson getting up in the 12th after his struggles with mental health was bigger than boxing to me. It makes me emotional every time I watch it. It was like his soul wouldn't let him lose after what he'd been through.
When you’ve gone through hell and come out in the other side stronger, your mind develops an unbreakable resilience to all things this world can throw at you.
@@gadget00 Exactly. I think the ref even came out afterwards and said that for World title fights, he always gives the fighters the full count / opportunity.
I mean yeah getting hit with the amount of power that comes behind wilders straight and left hook like that I would’ve thought he was decapitated. Fucking insane
Not in the 12th round. You gotta take fatigue into account, if he hits him like that in round 1-2 yeah it’s possibly over, in round 12? Nah it’s a love tap at best
@@DinanBMWm5 ur joking right😂 the punches that pop his head back while u see sweat and water flying everywhere. They both have tremendous power it doesn’t matter what round they can still knock someone out. And no it won’t be as hard as being fresh but it would sure knock your ass asleep😂man ur funny that was a good one
I have huge respect and admiration for Tyson Fury The man is the most humble and one of the best at what he does Seen so many videos of him telling about his struggles with depression but he never gave up He gives me so much motivation just by being himself
@@keiserwilhem5543 he’s most definitely not humble. He’s also not a great champ either cause he never defends his titles vs top contenders (unless he’s bound contractually) and tries to get easy money fights. He fought only 1 top guy who was wilder. He also outpointed an old Klitschko in an uneventful fight but then dodged the re-match. He did well to fight wilder after 2 warm-up fights, and I forgive him for a couple of bums like Schwartz or whatever his name was, but his last 2 years have been a joke. And now he goes for an MMA guy. Why on Earth would he not be fighting Usyk?
@@AjejeBUsyk declined twice..... He would destroy him anyway. Who else would challenge fury? Bad champion? You mean poor options for opponents. Also don't be so ignorant to his life story. His win over Vladimir was still impressive considering coming back from a couple of years off and going through hell and heavy drug abuse. Have some common sense.
Reminds me of Hades, when you kill the final boss, the music gets even more intense. Then even the third phase the music goes from metal to heavy metal. I love it.
Ive been watching boxing for like 25 yrs since I Was like 4 yrs old and ive never seen somebody get up from being unconscious to getting up like nothing happened like that I've also never seen a referee not stop a fight like that when a man is knocked out so viciously. The referee made sure he gave Fury every chance to get up so Fury could win on points but it didn't happen.Fury said God woke him up.I say God or the devil woke him up.Even the fight announcers couldn't believe it.Dammit now my friend called me and said wilder got knocked out.
@@lcduvient5224 Deonte got whooped. Fury should have won this fight as well. Wilder scored the knockdowns which saved him but Fury obliterated him around the ring
@@jacobfranklin7100 bro at the end of the you Tyson fans can come at me all you want cuz at the end of the day we’re all aloud free will so you can get pressed at me and you are also entitled to your opinion. But in my opinion after seekgn evidence on joe Rogans podcast I think deontay should’ve won. Whether he dragged the numbers or not, Tyson got knocked out you could see his eyes rolling in the back of his head.
When you knock out someone cold like that, and it stands up, and then hits back hard like nothing happened. Damn. Explains the second and third fight. Wilder must have felt that it is not a human he is up against.
That Rise from the dead is soooo inspiring man !! You might be at the bottom of rock bottoms but you can rise up and go all the way. Thanks Fury for giving us this incredible moment.
I think Fury was really lucky with the referee there. Either that or some boxers have been very unfortunate with referee decision where they’re on their feet by the 8th to 9th count but the fight has already been decided.
The greatest thing about this moment is that most fighters would tell you they weren't knocked out but Fury says to this day he was KO'd but his will to fight and win is too strong the punch that sent Fury to the canvas changed nothing you could see it in his eyes when they shot open and he just stands up like nothing happened
I remember cheering for fury but thinking wilder would win but then when he got hit I thought “damn this is over” but then when he got up? Nothing but shivers
@@CB-el3sv Think of what this represented: the fight itself was a clash between two undefeated heavyweights for the *undisputed lineal championship*, and a man who was publicly recovering from depression and alcoholism survived via sheer willpower a knockdown by a man with at that time a literal perfect streak of knockouts. I'm not saying there aren't other great moments in boxing history, but I think you'd struggle to name more than a few greater than this.
When Wilder landed that vicious combination he was so convinced that he had closed the show. Little did he realize that his problems were just beginning.
It was an incredible combination, with pin point precision and massive power. Only one man could have gotten up from it. At any other time maybe even he couldn't have.
Honestly I didn't see the right hand landing flush. The left hook was just a followup and it didn't even seem to be made with clenched fist. I don't really understand
One of the most incredible moments you will ever witness in combat sports. Fury got up like he was late for work and arguably wins the round just incredible.
Man, I am a 68 year old American man. I only got into boxing and mixed martial arts a couple years ago, but I watched a lot of fights. You know how it can become a blur? But a few images stand out. Fury getting up is truly spectacular, not of this world. Stunning. Mystical. No real words to describe it. WOWSER!!
Jack Reiss is insane at what he does. I would love to see him in more high profile fights. He also let Shaw Porter and Spence go at it with little interference, that fight was crazy too.
A different referee would have waved the fight off, without doing a full count.Tyson Fury was fortunate in the respect.Tyson Fury once he got back on his feet looked steady on his feet, and Deontay Wilder punched himself out that last round, he definitely was into his last energy reserves.
That's not a second wind. Second wind is when you hit a wall and are exhausted, then get a "second wind" and push past that wall like you were never exhausted. Fury wasn't exhausted, he has crazy recovery from getting knocked out.
This is basically like every fighting game boss battle, when the health seemingly goes to 0 - only for them to have a second wind & their health gets fully restored.
Fury has amazing ability’s to recover, he literally looked unconscious for a few seconds and still got up. I remember watching g it live and knowing it was over and then being amazed wen he not only got up but was steady on his feet.
@@Behtrs yeah im not a jake fan but gotta admit ben was going down no matter what... They should have given the crowd something more tho. This wasnt that entertaining
Such a warrior, both of them really. It's so impressive what fury did here though, after all his struggles... And you can tell he was out cold for 5 seconds or so, I can only imagine how disoriented he was when his eyes popped open, and he was looking up at the lights... You can tell that the first thing that went through his head was "No, not like this", he didn't think about his pain, he didn't feel bad for himself, he didn't think about anything except pressing on, getting up, and fighting. That's a real warrior mentality, not everyone could do that.
"not everyone could do that" ... Uhh dude... Almost NO ONE ... Can do that. Except Fury. Gypsys are built differently to us normal people.. they do not think like us. You'd know this if you grew up in the south of England with them... They're fucking evil and scary like you have never ever seen.
This exact moment is when Wilder lost all confidence in his abilities as a power puncher. Wilder *knew* he threw everything behind that last good right hand on Tyson, and the man took it like a fucking champ.
I wish they would’ve shown his wife’s reaction after Fury got up 😂 “Iii fuckin loveee youuu!!!!” Womp womp the 🤴 knew what he had to do and there was no surrender 😈 🏆🏆🤴🏆🏆😈
The ref came into his face with the 4 count then he started getting up at 6 fast asl . Why would he stop it at 10 when he was already fully standing up by 9 ?
Do your own count, when he first hits the mat he wasn’t fully stood up by 10, the red started at 4 after doing my own count over and over again he should have started at 6
@@seanmarchiny timed it using a stopwatch, he is spot on at 4 seconds but gets a little slow from there, fury is up by 10.7/10.8 seconds or so, timed from exactly the moment fury touched down. Counting to 10 and only being off by .7/.8 seconds is pretty good tbf it's well within human error.
Especially knowing that you've lost almost all rounds in the fight and you needed that knockout to win... unless the judges are going to bail you out with a totally bogus draw.
Not going to lie, that was fucking terrifying. Fell from a solid punch, didn't get knocked out but processed the pain, opened his eyes like a wild man and got back up.
The most amazing "getting off the canvas" moment I've ever seen. While I'm not a Fury fan, I've gained a lot of respect for him, especially after the 3rd fight shellacking he gave Wilder.
@@frankerz8339 why shit on him for not being a fan of someone ur obviously a fan of based off this comment? We all have our preferences and biases so let the man be
Fury is an awkward fighter. You wouldn’t expect a guy that size to have the agility and boxing skills. You see a guy like fury you think he’s a slow slugger.
I started counting as soon as he hits the canvas and it was exactly at 9 where he got up. At 8, he was kneeling down only with his right leg. The referee's count was legit af.
@@Reptile1969 The ref does not begin the count, he picks it up from the official counter, count starts when Fury's head hits the canvas. It was dead on. Great job refereeing. Unlike the Tyson Douglas fight when the ref picked it up wrong.
strange how fury's struggle and recent past was kind of encapsulated in a single moment like it was written. He deserves every bit of his success, heart of a lion.
😄 he didnt actually get up in 10 seconds once his shoulders hit the floor. Also both fights fury CLEARLY tampered with his glove(s) they look like bags on his hand look at how he is landing punches! cmon mann! 🤣 and to top it off I heard he was possibly on drugs too...🤦🏾♂️daamn lol seems like hes always been scared of wilder to me
@CITY OF THE CHAMPS My dude.YOU,Wilder and the rest of the Bumb squad don't realize how bias, petty and weak you make yourselves look with all of these lame ass accusations and excuses.First it was the"he wasn't supposed to get up from that"(But he did)Then it was Wilders Transformers outfit that was too heavy, then Fury some how managed to squeeze an egg weight into a glove that is already filled with a Fist, then Brealand put something in his water...Whats next bro?Wilder forgot to wear his lucky Bumb Squad thong?Come on Dude try looking at a fight without all the Bias for one fighter.Your Hero got his ass Handed to Him twice!!Props for knocking him down but that's not enough to win 7+ rounds.Could've had 3 Huge paydays with Joshua, chose fury instead cause he thought he was an easy pick and he got outclassed all the way from the 1st Promotional tour through the last Post fight interview. Its on him to be a man about his shit and go back to the drawing board😘👍
What an absolute inspiration. I remember this moment every time I think of ordering dessert or giving up on my morning run. Tyson Fury is the greatest boxer of our generation.
What you guys didn’t see whilst fury was briefly knocked out was his whole life flashback and how he couldn’t let anyone down on this fight. A whole protagonist.
For me what was the most inspiring thing was not just getting up, as a lot of people get knocked down and get up, but then they take a beating and lose, Fury got up, and actually boxed, amazing.
Yeh tons of great HW's have dad bods. Lots of muscle depletes oxygen, causing you to gas out quicker. Your ideal boxing body shape will depend on the individual and their genetics.
If he was so good why "one_punch_man" could hit him hard more than once and Fury was twice in knockdowns? He is good but overrated - let see with normal opposition. Anthony Joshua also so-so, but he knows how to boxing. I would not give a chance to Fury versus Lennox Lewis for example. Deontey has never had a skill more than mediocre boxer - he has a bad deffense, he knows nothing about closefight, has awfull foortwork, bad jab, no series, no levels works and no connection (without "bronze bomber mill" of course))) ), not good stamina, not understanding strategy in boxing at all. But he has an amazing direct right hand. Maybe the best in all actual super heavyweight. From my POV it is not enough to be champ but who cares. He was consistent during all that defenses.
@@sergeyv4908 I'm not comparing Tyson Fury to other heavyweight greats, I'm merely saying that I find something comforting in a boxer with Fury's stature having a bod that *looks* like someone who just walked out of a Dunkin' Donuts shop
Fury wins whichever way he fights. Fury would have won this one too if the judges had done their job properly. Fighting off the backfoot or coming forward Fury wins comfortably.
In those last seconds of the 12 round Fury figured Wilder out and that's exactly what we saw in the second fight. Wilder fighting backwards and not knowing what to do.
You could see her figured him out especially after the knockdown he was putting wilder in deep water in the 12th what a scrap for the ages this was Legendary!
I don't hear him saying any of this. He says "9. Can you continue? You wanna go? Walk over there and come back to me." I mean what you wrote is cool too tho.
@@FirstLast-gv1zl Yeah I comment that sentiment under tennis videos as well. If they would simply beat each others with their rackets Federer wouldn't be so great. But these stupid rules are in the way
@@FirstLast-gv1zl You understood that tennis is a sport and not a real fight then. Well done you. Do you comprehend that boxing is also a sport? One in which Fury is vastly better than Wilder at that. I think Tiger Woods would have dominated much more if he simply beat the living hell out of his opponents using his driver.
@@natogfg He can't "box". He has a weak jab. He has poor footwork. He telegraphs his big right hand. Those are 4 pretty big weaknesses. Most guys are petrified of his power, and rightly so. And Fury fought the first 11 rounds as if he was trying to avoid getting hit. He was backing up and counter punching. After he was knocked down in the 12th he realized; not only could he take Wilder's best shot, that he also wasn't afraid to come forward. And he fought the next 2 fights without fear and exposed all of Wilder's weaknesses.
Imagine knocking out Fury, thinking that you finally won this fight, then Fury just gets up as if he's waking up for work. And then continue to fight like nothing happened.
He was maybe slightly too slow but if he was it was only slightly. Tyson hit the canvas at 23 and at 13 he got up and the ref was at 9 close to saying 10. At the same time Fury is listening to the ref counting so if the ref was a second further he would have stood up sooner, that's how it works. Considering the fact that Fury was not dazed whatsoever after standing up he was going to be fine.
@@robthesamplist And even with the time keeper calling the count... THE REFEREE'S COUNT is the only one that matters. The time keeper can be up to 5... and the ref may pick up the count at THREE and go from there... For an example of how this works... Bill is fighting Glass Joe. I'm the referee. Bill drops Glass Joe... I move to separate the fighters and send Bill to the neutral corner, but he doesn't immediately start go to the neutral corner. The time keeper starts the count from the moment Glass Joe hit the canvas. Thing is... I'm NOT starting the count, until Bill gets his butt in that neutral corner like I (and the rules) told him to. So when Bill gets to the neutral corner, and I turn and position to perform the count... I'll glance to the time keeper to 'pick up the count'... The time keeper is saying SIX... and I'll recall Bill's delay in going to the neutral corner... I pick up the count at 3, or 4... NOW... MY COUNT, supersedes the time keeper's count. Is that legal under the rules? Absolutely. In fact, it's EXPECTED that I will RAPIDLY make decisions like that, to ensure that the outcome of the bout, is the 'natural conclusion' of a bout fought under the rules. I can't be ridiculous about it... If Bill starts heading for the neutral corner the moment I signal him to go... when I move to the other fighter... if the time keeper is up to 5... that's probably where I'm going to pick up the count. It'd be MADNESS for me to pick up the count at TWO, in that circumstance, after all. The other thing some people don't know is... if Bill drops Glass Joe... and I send him to the neutral corner and turn and look at Glass Joe, and determine that Glass Joe is kaput... I don't have to bother with picking up the count from the time keeper. I can wave my arms and declare Glass Joe "OUT" right there, right then, without the benefit of ANY count. Why? Because the primary mission of a boxing referee, is to look after the safety of the fighters. That's WHY there's a referee to begin with. Whether it's amateur sport, or professional sport... we want the fighters to compete well, make it to retirement, and be able to LIVE and ENJOY that retirement after their competition career is over.
This is more impressive and amazing every time I see it. Perfect performance from all 3 involved. Wilder lands and doesn't gloat, he immediately gives space to end the fight. Fury's eyes are wide open watching the count, taking the deepest breaths he can to summon the strength to rise from the dead. The ref knowing he hadn't taken too much punishment and giving him a full count, displaying the count clearly and loudly to him. And what impresses me the most is, the entire thing is actually 10 seconds, not a 12-16 second "10-count" like I've seen in a lot of other fights. Perfect knockdown. Perfect count. Perfect recovery. A legendary moment in the history of sports.
If this was an anime, we would have watched three episodes of flashbacks all while Fury was knocked down on the mat for 9 seconds. Then, right before he gets up the theme music would have played and we would have watched the greatest montage of boxing ever! You know I’m right.
The boxing montage would have been incorporated into the ending song with the credits rolling in. It would be that penultimate episode before they end the arc.
@@glenncurley680 the 10 count while he was down was spot on. Fury got up at 9.3 or something. He gave Fury about 11 seconds of "recovery" time as it is the referee's discretion to test the fighter on his ability to continue. It's commonplace. It is a championship fight and it's the 12th round. Both fighters were tired and neither was wobbly from being pummeled. The 12th round knockdown was a bit lucky in that Wilder caught Fury while Fury was sorta juking backward. The contact was solid but not devastating and so Fury went down. He clearly had his wits about him around 4 or 5 in the count and got up like he was late for a date.
Never gets less amazing. No matter what you think of Fury as a personality, this was just astonishing. Only one in a billion get up before the count from that.
I'll always think the fact that he not only got up from that shot but also WON THE REMAINDER OF THE ROUND is perhaps the most impressive feat in heavyweight history
Unfreakinbelievable.....watching this live was something that ill remember for the rest of my life... Wow...this fight will go down in boxing history as one of the best fights to watch in the heavyweight division...
