In this week's episode of The Shooting Show, Mark Ripley shows how to mount the Pulsar Thermion Pro 2 thermal rifle scope and zero it before heading out onto the lambing fields after foxes. With the wind blowing across the open hills making shooting challenging, Mark still manages to make good use of his kit to account for five foxes in a short space of time.
Then Stuart Eborall, of Warwickshire Wild Game, goes out stalking in search of muntjac, roe or fallow to keep on track with the estate management plan.

Great show tonight Chris, especially these two segments with Mark and Stewart/Stuart ( especially the inference to the 'heft' of those binos. :)

I understand why you took the shot and in the spur of the moment we probably would have done the same. But hey at least the farmer will have lambs, to keep great British farmers going.

Mark are you using the PIP on the Thermal for reference for the shot or just filming purposes?🧐🤔As I didn’t think the main window of the shot picture was precise enough for the actual shot?🧐
@260rips
@260rips Год назад
Yes your quite right, I’m using the pip window to shoot by with the main screen on base mag for clearer footage 👍

Well done Mark....as always!!! Not the greatest video on shooting deer: - Equipment - gloves (green and surgical), Face cover, knife, drag rope, Roe/Munty call. - shooting it front on low in the neck??? assuming the bullet travelled all the way through the body cavity - The animal was still alive when they arrive at it!! This is the kind of thing we need to be very careful of showing.

That bloke deer stalking was the most boring thing ive ever watched! The only amusing bit was when he walked over to the deer and it lifted its head an looked at him 🤦i like the channel but you need more action and less chatting crap. 99% of viewers are deer stalkers so stop telling us how to suck eggs and show us some shot footage.

So did the deer actually look at him then? I rewind the footage and still wasn’t sure if it did or not. I’d like to think that if the animal was still conscious then this information should be included in the video. BTW I’m not a hunter myself but a keen air gun plinker just in case anyone thinks I’m an anti having a nag

Pretty sure that deer was still alive when he walked up to it, cuts to him bleeding it out. Should've taken follow up shot.

As I stated in the video, I took the running shot as I thought I may have wounded it with the first shot as there was a hot splash on its body visible as it was running - like blood - this turned out to be in fact a patch of mange.

Deerhunter clothing is actually excellent, it was the 20-30mph wind blowing across a crap mic that was not very good! 😆 the clothing doesn’t make any noise 😉
