This is a great non-existent video, from a great non-existent channel.

There is a rather troubling trend of modern "historians" & "experts" who fail to do even the most basic of research before trying to make grandiose claims that some pivotal historical event, place, or individual never existed. It's pretty disconcerting, especially with the number of people who are willing to take them at their word, yet will plug their ears when you point out the fallacy within their reasoning.

Beware any "historian" that makes his career out of erasing history.

History should be researched by those that love it, not those that want to change it. This was an awesome video, Razorfist!

"If there was a town this dangerous, someone would have talked about it prior to the 1960's..." - ah, the rationalization fallacy ("how come I've never heard of it?") as 'proof' of falsehood. Allow me to introduce you to Pioche, Nevada; a mining town with a history so bloody, it couldn't even be romanticized in pulp. It's said that "71 men died with their boots on before even 1 died of natural causes" as noted by a journalist in Pioche in 1871. But I guess if the kid rationalizing Canyon Diablo's legend as false because no one talked about it before the 1960's denies that location's infamous history, he probably doesn't think Pioche existed either. Ignorance as an argument is how civilizations fall.

I'm so frigging hype for this comic!

There are people who just hate the western genre on (missgided principle). When I was a Journalism student (in Chile, where it's a 5 year University career) I was told by a teacher the Western genre was a Hollywood lie, because the US had no history, unlike Europe. I thought that could not be right: I mean the American Revolution came before the French Revolution (and was very important for our own independence), that should count as history. Anyway, the first westerns I ever saw where all European! And Japanese Chambara films ( samurai films) are inspired by western movies, and Japan is supposed to be the super traditional society. Argentinan gauchesco stories are like local westerns. I think westerns are pretty cool history and extremely influencial worldwide! Glad Razorfist is giving them a well deserved spotlight.

"The Hash-knife gang" there's some good Arizona history in the story of the Hash-knife ranch (pretty much everything south of 4 corners reservation to the rim from NM to somewhere east of Flagstaff). How it was put together and then parted out over the 20th century.

I'm stoked to get this novel and start reading it!

Canyon diablo is 100% a real place. I've been there a few times. Stood outside the foundations of the trading post and walked the area including the cemetery ( all graves are now unmarked except one) . Glass bottle shards, square nails and even the occasional fired pistol brass can found. Are all the stories true? Probably not but reputations are built on something

Would sound like a great movie. Could be done just as an old western or maybe a look back from a more modern investigation with many scenes flashing back to the old days. Then end with that very question of was it as brutal if not more then the OK corral. Love your narration of this Razor. Wish I could have met you once when I lived in AZ.

I love these vids, BUT WHERE DOES THE MUSIC IN THEM COME FROM??? It's badass, and I could listen to it on a loop for easily an hour.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the song Hell's Coming With Me, from Poor Man's Poison, would be the perfect intro for the Ghost of the Badlands.

One wonders if Pemberton was using a Remington 1858 Cartridge Conversion -- that design *could* safely be loaded with six rounds, as it had a "fail-safe" where the cylinder could be indexed between chambers; then, if the user took a bad hop, or fall, the hammer would not strike on a round. (I don't know for sure if other revolvers shared this feature.) Or perhaps he was using a revolver with more than 6 chambers in the cylinder; such did exist (for ex.: The LeMat, with *nine* 0.42-cal. rounds, plus a 0.410 through the centerline).

For a split second before you said rigor mortis, I saw the picture and thought, "holy crap, dude faked his death??" That would've been a hell of a twist. I also wonder who took the picture of the corpses for the gang. Cameras were not exactly abundant in those days. Looking forward to my copy of GotB. I hope it leads to a movie or tv series someday...in monochrome old school film, of course.

I'm pretty sure, Canyon Diablo is on the national historic register and is a protected site. I'm an archaeologist in the SW. But mainly work in the Mojave Desert and Great Basin.

And unlike the theif Lindybeige and his graphic novel, you can be sure that this one will be released on time and no one will get shafted out of their money.

I think art, at best, is a communication of the heart to deliver a metaphorical perception of reality/history/experience to uplift people to the true, the good, and the beautiful, where it gets into our emotions/passions, which can help motivate us to strive to and give us more clarity to use our gift of intellect to grasp at the good and use our gift of free will, our capability to direct ourselves to the true good, and that's why it makes sense to me why so many fans don't separate the art from the artist, sacrificing so much to meet celebrities hoping they will hold in their hearts elements of what was so meaningful to them. As a Brit, these tales from Arizonan history (as well as the landscape they are set in) are like a window into a wholly different world. That's why I like them. I can only imagine it's the same feeling the average American gets when looking at medieval European history or ancient castles: "What? You mean this isn't just a thing from storybooks and movies?"
