Love the speech. I heard 2 things or so that he also mentioned in his book, Why We Sleep, so it was nice to get through the ideas one more time, but this moment presented in a lively manner :)

With all due respect, I completely disagree with this argument. There is documented evidence to counter it. One by name Sri Vadiraja tirtha, who lived 120 years, with impeccable memory power and he actually chose to end his life in unique "sajiva brindavana" (a religious process, that the person knows when he has to end his life and voluntirily gives up asking his devotees/followers to make special arrangement at a point of time indicated by him). He had a lifestyle, where there is no scope to have long sleep. This is not just one exceptional event. Many sages of India have lead a rigorous life with very little sleep. I was highly impressed by an American, who was in IT and had everyday average of one to two hour sleep and some nights no sleep and yet was super healthy and super memory even at the age of retirement and continued like that much longer even. I myself have reduced sleep like that only and have healthy life with memory power not diminished at all. Yes sleep is needed, but one can train himself to have very deep sleep and for short time and thus making best of life.

Well this is wrong. "Short sleep = Shorter lifespan". Talk to the Indian Yogi's, Specifically Sadghuru. He will educate you. This fellas research is counterintuitive.

Hmmm...longer your sleep, the shorter your actual concious life. Not much of a life being asleep. Your good years arnt extended. Just your 80s, confused and incontinent.

BOTH OG YOU ARE CORREXT & IF ONE LIKE ME WHOSE PREVIOS LIFE OF IGNORANT ESCAPISM THRU ALCOHOL, JUNK DIET properly made me a candidate for COVID & it's Successor the LONG version whose designers apply targeted the weak & us useless--to them at least--elderly, this 84 year old has been losing that revitalizing Sleep for so long that even my clean diet & renewed mind & exercise program might be too late to rescue myself & once more--as in the distant past b4 a tragic accident , followed by COVID, etc., might be too late to redeem myself. mself.

why did he barely mention the "similar effect on women" yet elaborate on the issues with testicles and testosterone in the beginning? charming- sexist and a bad toupee.

probably a bigger shock value for guys and/or the effect on women is minimal
