For all ye shotgunners, use quick access sling instead of icarus, qaSling now gives faster ready and stow speed by default, and icarus grip only affects the middle pellet of the shotgun. Basically don’t waste a mod slot on icarus.
Devs don't have as much practical knowledge as players do. Just because a developer said it isn't necessary doesn't mean they actually know whats necessary. Icarus is 100% needed on shotguns, you can easily just test this yourself in game right now. Pellet spread =/= cone, the pellet spread might not be affected much but the entire pellet circle itself gets thrown off center.
It's easy to think of it this way, there is a pellet circle where all the pellets are distributed (the size of your crosshair). With Icarus Grip, your pellets stay within that crosshair. Without Icarus Grip, your pellets will stray outside of it. If you draw a circle around your pellets, it will be the same size as your crosshair, the problem is that it's not centered on where you're aiming at. So sure, Icarus Grip has no noticeable effect on pellet spread, but it definitely has one on the accuracy.
@@johnnydiep2122 unfortunately that’s what I was talking about, what you mentioned was the case in the past. the spread stays the same but the spread position is no longer affected by icarus grip, only the position of the middle pellet. do some testing with and without icarus, you won’t notice a position change.
@@gus1755 I tested this for about an hour on various shotguns/perks. Seems like within OHKO range, regardless of the roll or mod, your shot was on target. At further ranges is when things changed slightly. If you had Full Choke, your shot was pretty much on target regardless of mod. Without Full Choke, there was slight deviation without Icarus Grip. I'll admit that I was wrong and that there were some changes to pellet spread at some point, don't know when. There's still niche scenarios for Icarus Grip where you don't have Full Choke and are not within OHKO range, but that seems too situational to run Icarus Grip since Full Choke is wanted on every shotgun. Edit: Slugs seem to still have bad in air accuracy though without it

Right… I’ve never liked shotguns at all in PvP but this Wastelander’s gonna make me want to try running around with a shotgun someday. The roll on mine has Perpetual Motion and One-Two Punch.
This thing is based on the shotgun from Marathon Durandal and Marathon Infinity apparently. That one’s still cooler because it’s a double barrel lever action that you can dual wield and it does the terminator flip with every shot. However this is still cool.
100% best shader for Wastelander is Shadow Gilt. It darkens up the metal a little bit while still LOOKING like metal, keeps the wood the same, and adds a couple subtle gold/brass details on parts that were previously the same metal used on the rest of the gun. It makes it perfectly fit with the other Tex Mechanica guns in the game.
The first Wastelander I got on my first dares run came with Barrel Shroud/Full Choke, assault/accurized, perpetual motion and killing wind. It feels so good

My RNG has not been blessed since the update, well... Nothing I really wanted haha! Got a pretty decent roll on the Trace Rifle ... ... ... I did get a really sweet roll on the BR that I honestly didn't know I needed in my life! Then another pretty damn good BR. I got a near perfect PVE Roll on the Matador today & an o.k roll on the 1k Stare but the Dungeon F'D me over with no Eyasluna!!! Oh well back into the Dungeon as soon as the boys are ready! Need me an Eyasluna & a half decent Matador but in the meantime I literally want the roll you have but with Full Choke or Rifled Barrel. Its so damn accurate that I really do think Rifled is a decent choice over Full Choke, the pellet spread feels VERY different compared to other Lightweights & other Shotguns in general tbf! The one I have has Subsistence & Harmony, Subsistence might actually be pretty sleeper on these Shotguns, I've been pretty surprised by how good it is, how easy it makes things, but it is just reload vs Slideshots extra Range & Stability.
I wish I could actually get a half decent one I’ve gotten like 9 and they were all trash. It’s got cool animations like chaperone. Don’t use shotguns much but I’d like to use this one

I have choke+mag that gives you range(forgot name lol)+slideshot+opening shot and handling mw. Handling on this is amazing, feels like quickdraw. This thing MAPS!

I call this thing The Terminator Shotgun. There are definitely more "meta" shotguns in PvP, and definitely better options than shotguns PERIOD in PvE, but I have never felt more like the Terminator in a video game than the Wastelander I got with Subsistence, so I can just MOW DOWN mooks in lost sectors or vanguard strikes or just dicking around on a random planet. Between this thing, my Gnawing Hunger with Subsistence and Swashbuckler, and either Gjallarhorn or Crownsplitter, and I feel like I can take on the whole galaxy in D2.
Got perp motion and harmony on mine. I pair it with my bxr that has perp motion and eye of the storm. Perp motion and harmony on both would be sick nasty though. Guess it's more space horse jeopardy for me. P.S. Thought i would have seen some GTA "wasted" clips though lol.

try full choke barrel is better then the corkscrew for the tighter spread , i been loving the roll i got - Full Choke or Rifled / Accurized / Slide shot/ Opening shot
Got smoothbore, accurized, slideshot and opening shot, range MW and it's great, have one with rifled barrel, accurized, perpetual motion and opening shot too but I havent tried that roll, not a ramge mw also, not sure which would be better tho but probably the first cuz of the mw
i have slideshot killing wind on mine and honestly i love it could use small bore instead of full choke cause the spread is so contained but still a great pvp choice
Only thing I wish this shotgun was an energy shotgun. So I could use Last Word or DMT for the full western experience. However I’m gonna just stick with my Trust
