If youve never heard the Twinz album called Conversation, do yourself a favor & get it, mostly produced by Warren G and its 1 of the best (if not THEE best) GFunk albums ever made !
@@RowlexEnterprise Def Jam was on the verge of bankruptcy. Regulators singlehandedly saved Def Jam from likely being absorbed by a major label, like many others.
I love how Dre gave Warren G all his credit, he could of been like "we got the same g-funk sound", "he stole my shit", even "I taught him everything he know" but instead he said "he learned on his own"
@@mackinshizzaveli4202 listen to Alwayz into somethin', one of the first G-funk records that came up in the early 91 and that was produced by Dre. Dre dind't steal anything.
fuck yeah, people damn near forgot how def jam was almost under till this nigga dropped some regulators shit! and till this day he gets no respect for that! shit drives me insane that people are quick to nme drop all the eastcoast talent that was def jam but warren to the g gets no love.
@@thetruthandnothingbutthetr6484 it's what got him signed too" Def jam... Which he dropped the album g funk era...that went platinum again two times😂😅
Da 5 Footaz could've been that 1st female hip hop group to really, cuz they had skill. those conditions messed those broads up. you gotta get in where you fit in 1st baby.
Yeah I saw that interview where he said that. It's pretty bad if true (which I believe it is) but Warren can look on the bright side- his exposure on Deathrow got him the deal with Def Jam and helped him blow up. Also don't forget that Regulate was on a Deathrow soundtrack (Above The Rim) and that that helped it's hype immensely. Another thing is that if he were on Deathrow his record would probably have never come out or would have come out people were no longer interested (Rage).
These are the days when you actually had to put in serious work to promote yourself. Stupid mumble rappers use internet and think they're entitled to shit.
Best documentary of all rhyme !! Rhyme and Reason was good too… if you want something ol school, Style Wars from 82 is a great one also !! Documenting history and culture in its prime!! Show was prime of rap era
haha..Dre say Warren didn't use any of 'his' sounds lol...when you listen to some of the DeathRow unreleased material, dre uses the same samples Warren used on at least 3 songs
Warren g had the twinz mista grim dove shack jah skills 5 footaz mr malik neb luv he had his own little NWA like quik he had amg second 2 none suga free and hi-c
He speaks so clear and articulate now with a heavy voice. I’m glad he ditched that thick high pitch LA accent and dialect over the years. Because in his death row era, It was hard for me to understand what he was saying. I’m surprised cube and snoop didn’t lose theirs.
Same with Eminem bro 😆 Listen to him now he speak more articulate and clear now, in the early run of the Aftermath days he spoke in that raspy and heavy Detroit ghetto accent, I prefer younger Em's voice actually
Naaa, warren was on his own, even in an interview DJ Glaze from foesum he says that warren started to produce by himself beacuse dre and snoop passed him by
He tells the story how Suge didn’t mess with him after he told Snoop and the other artists to have a lawyer go over their contracts before they sign with Death Row.
I thought ll cool j started and saved Def jam.... I had no idea it had to take a west coast nigga to save a east coast record label lol. That's why east coast bitter now even with the south
It's a shame wayniac and snoop never gave foesum any props.. The twinz were with them before being with Warren.. Hell even snoop made songs before he made deep cover. He just made one reference of them on cronic
those were the twinz certified g funk representatives from long beach, both brothers were discovered by warren g and had dropped a classic underground album in 95
he's told stories about it himself, busting jaws etc etc...and his quote "If you a thug and you ain't got scars on your knuckles, you're a busta!" Snoop tells of a good scrap on this weeks GGN news too lol you can find that on the westfest channel on here...
@Funkdogg ya just go to long beach on the eastside and ask about G dub I mean there were way worst bangers than him but he was the real reason why Snoop was able to push 20 crip
If Warren kept the beats from Conversation for his own album he would have sold another 3 million. Twinz can spit but they definitely do not have the "it" factor which is why they flopped.
Agree. At least market it as "Warren G & Tha Twinz", and have Warren rap a verse on a few more songs, and the album wouldn't have been "going, going, gone...."
