@happycatsandhappydogs Wow, interesting! How are they opposing it? Is there a movement in which we can subscribe and give our contribution? (Not monetary, I mean as followers etc - I'm a broke university student, so I couldn't support this financially )
Well said. Reminds me of the stretched ear thing, the trend is long dead now but all I have to show for it is a pair of flaccid holey lobes that can't even hold a stud earring, it's hoops for me now.
@@GM-qq1wi That's why you don't do things for trends. I was thinking of stretching my ear lobes bc I have allergies to fake jewelry. I love hoops so I figured make the hole big enough where it won't touch and the skin is covered by the plug so the problem is solved.
what is beautiful is differences in looks. so please stop following trends people. one day you look great and the other you are normal or boring, or even worse...ugly.
That one about Timothy is so sad. Imagine just filling out a little in the face (ngl he actually looks more healthy in the second pictures) and people start saying your career is over and your ugly now, tf is wrong with people man 😭
Those stupid fans think they're in South Korea 💀 He still looks like a twink and even if he didn't, it's nobody's business. These people are mad weird. He looks healthier and handsome, I hope there are people reminding him of that
I think I'm the only one who thinks he looks better now. Not that I thought he looked bad before, of course he didn't. But I wasn't in love with that exaggerated jaw line.
@@cloudsn don't worry, you're not the only one. He was handsome before but something about jawline before was a bit unnatural (?) I guess. But yeah, he's still handsome, if not more since he gained weight. I wish the people hating would leave him alone
People destroying their bodies for unreasonable beauty standards has been a thing since the dawn of mankind, even if at certain points in history it was forced on them But I will admit that watching people fall for this yet again is very sad
I never read those old BL stories with that art style. It's so scary and the characters don't even feel like men with how they act. But the scary factor is the biggest reason.
As a nurse...I have no words for people saying Timothee gained "at least 50lbs"...are people really that stupid? He's gained weight for sure, but only like 10lbs or so. Maybe 15 max. But 50 is ridiculous.
it honestly somehow calms me down how different and „weird“ beauty standards are all over the world. when i don’t fit in an ideal, somewhere else in this world it would even matter.
@@damearstor2120It's not in North Korea. It's a Chinese subculture Shamate, and it's most prevalent in the rural but also factory working class. It is a way for these people that are kinda looked down upon to dress up and look nice, but also support each other.
Growing up, my mom would say small heads were the best because "no one can tell you're fat." She would then insult my weight because my head was huge compared to hers. Seeing that same bullcrap be inflicted on other people is beyond disgusting.
That's BS. Your mom gaslit you. Smaller head = body looks like a giant Bigger head = body looks tiny in comparison Perceived to be taller would be true though. Edited to fixed word (ofc it was meant to be bigger head = smaller body in comparison 😑)
And I have a naturally smaller head and it looks kinda narrow when I take selfies, sometimes I wish my head was 15% wider so it looks more normal proportioned but.... It's always the "I want what I can't have" isn't it? You always want the opposite of what you have. Better to just learn to love yourself instead.
Am I the only one that thinks a tiny head looks creepy? It kinda freaks me out, same with super wide shoulders but a swig waist. It looks like people are no longer proportional. Only few people look natural like this to me.
@@darkmage4648 yeah I agree with you! Many east Asians praise the youthful look, especially if you have a so-called "baby face" . Which many K-pop idols are able to achieve with plastic surgery. Isn't it creepy that adult men want women with the faces of a kid? Or is it just me who thinks that? I've seen a new group that debuted lately in K-pop, they're all 16-17-18 years old... And they already have a massive fan base, and I could hear, during their live stage, a lot of grown men singing along with them! It's so inappropriate! This is the fault of their agencies, that they debut minors... But it is also fault of the beauty culture and standards, which sees women like objects, that they have to act like kids (aegyeo, look it up if you don't know what it is, it's messed up) and look like kids in the face and like pre-teens in their bodies (without curves etc). It is so f*cked up!
I want to say that ozempic is NOT a weight loss drug, it’s a drug to help manage type 2 diabetes, weight loss is a side effect of the drug. Doctors sometimes prescribe it for off label use but the excessive rise in its usage mean diabetics who need it for important health reasons aren’t able to get access.
Side effect term can change according to what you wanna treat. Ozempic has 2 fda aproved purposes now. Obesity and diabetus but it is not something you should use under 30 bmi which none of these celebrities or people who are causing shortage have. This is a drug that have severe side effects. You can lose 6 kgs with a great diet in two weeks without even starving yourself or do sports. This is idiotic
Tbf -- this happens with a lot of drugs, it's ridiculously common in fact. Plus, being overweight is a PO precursor to diabetes and I rather see people lose weight than be inflicted with a life long condition if it could be avoided. Blame the pharma companies for not keeping up with the demand.
It isn’t a weight loss drug. It’s a freely available peptide packaged in a convenient syringe. Semaglutide is available to purchase for quite cheap online in injectable form from any peptide pharmacy.
Timothee looks better now to me, like he is able to relax maybe 5 minutes a day and eat a carb every once in awhile now. He’s always been attractive if he’s your type, it’s crazy to think he looks “bad” now
He's very much not my type no matter what, but I hope he is healthy and any weight gain is good for him and any weight loss isn't due to pressure to look a certain way. I mean, I know that sometimes you gain weight from stress, and if that was what happened to him I feel really bad for him. If he instead gained weight due to getting to relax, eat, and sleep properly… Then go him! He did look healthier that way.
Honestly speaking, he looks healthier and that’s what important, before he looked like he lacked the nutrients his body needs, so if he is living a healthier life (even if it means to gain a little bit of weight) then good for him.
cant we just like.. live? i feel like deleting tiktok and focusing lot on all these beauty standards etc makes you so much more happier about yourself.
That's literally what most people on this planet do. They never even hear about all this stuff. The internet bubble is crazy and the moment you stop watching it or looking into it, you'll realize just how it doesn't have any meaning and any weight in your life.
@@MaryGershwin exactly! I only use RU-vid - no social media and no television - and the only time I see things like this is when I intentionally watch videos like this one. I do occasionally see a beautiful young woman with the really unfortunate exclamation point nose contour and, more often, women with a bbl and lip filler, but mostly people look the same. And no one is walking around talking about how smaller heads are more attractive or doing tiktok dances either. It's like social media reality is a whole different planet, and I find it fascinating (and a bit disheartening) to observe. Of course, I'm 41 with homeschooled children, so I don't know how reality for kids in school these days. 😕
I never have TikTok acc, barely open my IG, delete my Twitter acc long time ago, abandoned my Facebook acc. However, I watching what happening there by people rant in RU-vid 😂
Kids don't have small heads (proportionally). If you look at a kid, you'll notice their head is roughly 1/3 the size of their whole body. In adults, that fraction is a lot smaller. I guess non-artists don't really know this? The general rule is 1:7 for adults, 1:2 for babies, and 1:5 for chibi characters Anyways, the reason people like small faces are that the rest of your features (eyes, lips, etc.) look bigger and more balanced, and you also look taller from a distance (due to human perception of proportions)
I never knew about this fixation on "small faces" until I got into kpop. I still don't care about it because many look good with their original bigger faces (whatever race or ethnicity they are). Giselle doesn't look better or worse than before, she just looks like a different person. Seems to be a predominantly (east) asian thing.
I think the obsession with small faces and prominent features get worse with time. Because I do remember, as an Asian kid, those being the beauty standards (mostly for women; men need to have "big manly" faces) but not to the point of dangerous obsession. And it's not only in east Asia, as far as I know because East Asian's white skin, pale face, petite yet long legs and skinny frame is spreading pretty quickly to SEA. Even the speaking pattern which is kinda weird and funny.
Yeah, Giselle has changed a lot since pre-debut, she was so pretty, but I guess the company gaslit her to think that she had to shave her jaw 😢 she was beautiful, and still is. I'm not shaming plastic surgery, I'm just angry at her company who gaslit her into thinking that she wasn't beautiful already
@@ClakyNotReversed they very likely forced her to get cosmetic work done. It's in the contracts of most trainees and idols that their management company can choose and approve procedures that they would've never gotten to begin with, even in a society that is very cosmetic surgery positive. Most idols you see who have had work done very likely had to 'just go with' their whole perception of themselves being altered
@@liz_loves_cats yeah, I think it was in the contract too. Even if it wasn't, I think that they "encouraged" her to do it. And I bet they made her feel ugly and not on the level of beauty to be an idol, which is such a sad thing that makes me so angry, honestly... Gigi is one of the many girls that are forced to have plastic surgeries and other procedures done, only because they have a dream to become K-pop idols... I wish companies didn't do this... I remember seeing a short from Dive Pods (I don't know if you're familiar with it, there is Eric Nam, Peniel from BtoB, Ashley Choi from Lady's Code, and others too, but in this one there were these 3) and basically Ashley said that during her trainee days, the instructors used to heavily criticize girls, making them feel really ugly... She said that she was insecure about her KNEES for a very long time, because the company would always criticize her knees and tell her that she should do a cosmetic procedure to her knees!!!! She didn't do it, luckily she wasn't forced to do it. But still, they gaslit her so much that she had a lot of insecurities about her appearance, and one of these was her freaking knees! It's crazy, really... We K-pop fans might have a grasp on how toxic this world can be, but we can only imagine, because it is MUCH WORSE than what we know... So many young girls are influenced by this industry, thinking that they're not beautiful, that they're not "enough" physically.... I heard that most of the girls in the country, for their 16th birthday, they receive the gift, from their parents, of doing the double eyelids plastic surgery... Edit: sorry if I made English mistakes, it's my 4th language. And sorry for the long comment 😐
I got a huge blocky head. It never worried me, hats just never fit me. I suppose its different as I'm a guy and its not really something thats considered bad
@@taylardotson8100 giselle was already getting masseter botox pre debut and got her jaw done before next level. her jaw looks smaller now because of editing, it looks the same if not more defined irl
Maybe people should just let go of Kpop at this point. When something gives you stress - don’t expect it to change. Boycott it. I personally barely listen nor watch idol mvs.
It’s so stupid to see people get worked up over this. Like it’s literally not YOUR body, and let him do whatever he feels is necessary for his health and comfort. If you wanna look like a 6th grader drawing? Sure, go ahead but other people can make their own decisions. This is one reason I’m so glad that I’m not internet famous or some shit
I'm not even his biggest fan but that was so unnecessary of them to go in on him like that and vile. What if he sees those comments and it affects him? I mean he's still in his 20's and probably trying to get comfortable with his changing face and body. Jeez.
just a heads up: the big eyes, small face and etc basically the baby face has a term and its neonteny. Its super interesting in biology and one of the reasons we love things like dogs and kittens
Is it small face or small head as he says in the video though? As puppies and kittens or babies etc they don't really have a small head in ratio to their size in whole
no but what young person is gonna feel insecure seeing this kind of shit 💀 they must be hella stupid and weird to feel insecure that they don't look like a CARTOON that's btw visibly ugly and unhuman
@edvasion I'm decades out of your channel's demo, but you make me laugh right out loud, as you keep me up to date with what the young'uns are doing with fashion, style, and body image. And I still smile when you tell me "not to be dumb." I'm trying, but it's really hard, man. Really hard! 😋
Haha that was my look for several years. But I also was basically stick man. In my mid-twenties I fit into trousers for teenage guys. And yep because heroin. I used to joke and call it 'being on the H diet'
Ewwww, you're right, hahahaha! I went to Japan recently and I thought, "What is happening to these young dudes? They look like Yaoi!" The guys my age and up all have titanic heads. I guess its really severe in East Asia.
Makes ya wonder... what’s going on behind the scenes? Too much internet? Hope the youth over there as well as anywhere else can survive such crazy trends.
I’m sorry but how are beauty standards in its peak era yet “the most attractive people in the world” whose whole brand was based on their beauty can’t escape rampant backlash after gaining weight or growing older? When will be there be a limit? My Korean mom and grandma genuinely think actress Jung Hoyeon is ugly, I was so shocked when they said it while watching the Squid Games. The amount of internalized misogyny and beauty standards, it’s heart wrenching to think about especially as a teenage girl. I just wish people would heal from this and gain some perspective because wtf are we normalizing? Everyone hates themselves and everyone else now. Admiration turns into envy, flawed comparison into external competition with the same gender. There are even phenomenons of people falsely equating beauty with morality. Why can’t we all stop? I’m already so sick and tired and I just got here. Let me be myself in fucking peace. No one is camera ready with glass skin and anime bodies 24/7- because we’re fucking humans. Accept you’re human and you’ll be free. +For context they looked at her modeling as well. It was because she wasn’t stereotypical, specific “pretty by Korean standards.” Yet she’s objectively attractive to most people. I just thought it was refreshingly mind-blowing, that’s all.
@@anonymouse9833I agree. Also, what is it with Korean culture and being so obsessed with looks? It's horrible and so shallow. The US isn't much better though.
I think you are overthinking. Hoyeon did not look great in the Squid Game - rarely smiled, hair was always sort of messy, wore that damn tracksuit for the most part. I do think she looks a lot better in real life without the ‘disheveled’ look in the Netflix series. And while I do think Korea’s idea of beauty hurts us, but why does the ‘improvement’ have to always be finding so and so celeb attractive?
@@jellyrolly she looked good, even if she was wearing a plastic bag, its the same for models, they dont look bad even when they wear horrible runway sh*t

Well, he makes his living off being pretty. You can't, with any integrity, put your face all over the media and then grasp your pearls if some of the comments are unflattering.
@@nineteenfortyeight6762 He's a human being with thoughts, feelings, and insecurities. "You signed up for this" is the most tired way of justifying every day people being overly invasive and being willing to share their negative opinions on open platforms of said celebrities. Most celebrities do understand that their privacy will be essentially suspended or their personhood will be scrutinized but they can still feel hurt and burnt out from hearing people pick at insecurities they might have. Jobs have good and bad parts and it's fine to acknowledge that being told you're ugly and should give it all up because you gained (maybe) 5-10 pounds is a negative to being an actor or public figure.
I started semaglutide back in December, and I've lost over 35 lbs. I did it because I have an extremely strong family history of diabetes, on both sides of the family. My aunt had a heart attack last year (she's fine now) that was caused by the damage from diabetes. People in my family tend to get diagnosed around their mid-40s, and I'm approaching my mid-30s currently. I figure that losing the weight now will help me kick that diagnosis can down the road. I feel so validated rn, I've known for a loooooong time that I like faces that are "filled up" with facial features, like legit one of the first things I consciously thought about as a kid about what I like in faces. And I remember when I got into East Asian stuff and found out about the small face and small head beauty ideal - I thought about how I don't care if the head or face are big, just how they're filled up with features, aesthetically I prefer there being less "empty space" or "blank space" than more, and I thought well that's automatically more likely the smaller the face, but it's not about the face size in the end. Now you're telling me science confirms this. On one hand I feel so validated, on the other hand I feel hrm Ig I'm not that unique in my preference lol. Though I do think people don't perceive "blank space" all in the same way.
Can we talk about how this is so stressing for people who can draw and know for a fact real human proportions and ALSO for people with body dismorphia? THE STREESSSSS

this is so bizarre cause i feel like all people are good looking in their own ways and yet, everyone is constantly comparing and contrasting each other in the worst ways possible ☠️
As someone who has a tiny mouth and normal sized teeth (basically quoting my orthodontist), I have had to have quite a few teeth removed due to crowding, and needed braces because all my teeth were on top of each other. 0/10 do not recommend, but all the years of dental treatment has helped me get over my fear of dentists so
@@rosehipowlI'm curious when this happened as I thought orthodontics were moving away from adult teeth removal and more towards palate expansion. Have you had any sinus or breathing problems since the orthodontic work?
@@phantomkate6 A bit over a decade ago, I was in my late teens. I had sinus issues prior to the dental work, it's not done anything to me beyond make more room in my mouth! The only side effect was one gap getting infected, but that was sorted quickly. I'm in the UK, so I think the ideas may be different between here and America. I was supposed to have some of this done when I was younger but I was so afraid of dentists that just getting me there once a year was good enough, so when my free dental work was running out as I was going to turn 18, my dentist very highly recommended that I get braces and teeth removed and basically take advantage of the remaining free visits I had.
Yeah I have this issue. My teeth are crowded causing migraines, jaw issues, really bad overbite because my tongue is long af but tiny mouth so it default wants to push against my teeth. It just really sucks for diabetics who actually need it, it's hard for us to lose weight because of so many reasons that able bodied people don't have to worry about :/ and no diabetes type 2 isn't all about diet it's mostly genetics just like type 1 (I have grandparents with type 2 and I'm type 1 which puts me at risk for type 2 as well)
if anything, timothee looks better imo. he was already super good looking before but i personally love softer looking faces, as they look more vibrant and friendly to me. never understood this whole "sharp jawline" obsession, it looks weird on most people.
It makes you easy to draw at best and if you have a mild necrophilia then this is the way to go. I thought I was into skinny men but their faces are too hollow for me to touch, admire, value or trust. The addict vibes are too strong for me.
I absolutely hate when people say "Ozempic face isn't a thing" one look at Kelly's new face and you're going to tell me there's not a ridiculous difference??
