I suggest that you rethink the implications of your comment citizen. The officio assassinorum and the Inquisition are direct hands of the Emperor so suggesting that they are in some way responsible for this cluster fuck is the same as saying it was the Emperor. It would be best if you loudly and publicly admit that you do infact believe it was the result of foul xenos trickery. Also I am going to need you to report yourself to your nearest ecclesiarchical representative for punitive cleansing.

No i'm sorry, not essential ... let me rephrase this ... knowing absolutely _everything_ there is to know about his targets individual protective items and general defensive measures is *MANDATORY* for any kind of assassin, ranking above a mere hired goon and actually beeing interested to succeed. Even more so, i would assume, for a member of the Vindicare temple. The first three rules of combat engagements come to my mind here: 1. Recon 2. Recon 3. RECON....for christs sake^^ Furthermore, i'm not a member of the imperial cult but rather of one of it's ancient predecessors, which is catholicism. My spiritual cleansing (which are all punitive, no matter what because catholics are born as sinners^^) was so early in my life and has been so thoroughly, my shit still don't stink and i'm 44 now. Alas I think your drastically underestimating the position the Vindicare Assassin found himself in. Recon was impossible, the Cardinal was not careless in his security or his paranoia. The realities of his personal security were known only to a handful of his most trusted servants, and the existence of his personal void shield likely only to himself. More so at any given time he had at his person entire platoons of fanatical bodyguards each more then willing to sacrifice themselves to protect him, and most entirely uncorruptable. The shot was not missed either, he did make a successful targeted attack that was by all accounts far above the ability of any mortal assassin. Firing from an obstructed position through thick cover at a target continuously covered at all times by body guards, in a window of time less then two or so seconds in length over several miles in distance.The shot hit, but doing so through cover requires the usage of an ammo type incapable of bursting both through a solid pillar of rockcreet and a void shield generator. Despite the Imperiums wish for its servants to be able to truly kill with impunity in all events, the reality is that they are still very much locked into the limits of human effort. Simply put "lack of reconnaissance" is not the correct term, the impossibility of reconnaissance fits far closer. As the Cardinal was far too complete in his security measures to accomplish more without risking discovery.

@@Archon3960 Survivors, you know what survivors are. Brannigans Book of War, last page. When you have leftover Kriegsmen because you finally threw more of them upon an enemy's position than the enemy had ammo to fight them off. Or when his guns were disabled cause they are clogged with corpses.

Loved Arch's series. But Oculus offers such a unique flair, I have a feeling he might even surpass! XD

Arch tends to take it from a more military history perspective as well. Showing comps of forces, make up of units, etc. Occulus tends to be more poetic and much better descriptive to make you really feel stuff. I'm excited, and might end up making a playlist playing them side by side

I'd say Oculus is better by far when it comes to storytelling. His in universe persona and vocabulary really immerses you. Arch goes into more detail, but also makes alot of assumptions and personal lore interpretations, which is fine.

@@XraynPR I would not say that one is better than the other, the way they approach the lore is just so completely different. Oculus offers us an in-universe perspective, with all the things that come with this type of narrator - including not knowing the kind and number of units fighting in a particular conflict, not being aware of certain going-ons and being influenced by events himself, since he is part of the universe. And Arch offers the authorial view from the outside, with a lot more details concerning type, number and deployment of troops, motivations of protagonists and other things and details like this. In this regard Arch is a lot more like a war correspondent and I can listen to his videos like I would listen to the coverage of a sports event, with all the pieces of personal opinion from the reporter and even with a good bit of humour, while Oculus' coverage is way more like a serious audio drama with quite different aspirations. So I can totally listen to both of them talking about the very same thing, while being equally entertained, but taking very different things from it in the end.

I'm kinda surprised that Arch managed to get his channel back tbh

@@knownofear1 odd, I was under the impression, that this specific image was commissioned by Arch, I suppose it's also possible, that it was just a rather obscure piece of artwork made for Vraks, it's been a while since I last flung through the entire campaign.

Arch's record of Vraks was the first I'd heard of it, but I'm glad a more reputable chronicler is lending their voice to this tale.

@@merylcruz3820 that's subjective, from an objective standpoint you can't really compare the two. Arch is more factual with his out of universe style, while Oculus is trying to create a in universe atmospheric retelling of the events.

Most people use the term to describe followers of WW2 Germany's socialist government. The term has been misused a lot in recent history tho, so much in fact, that a small bunch of people who take politics too serious will call you a "Nazi" for disagreeing with them, no matter if you hold actual national socialistic values or not. This is probably just a big misunderstanding on your part, it happens, no harm done, but I would suggest to not use terms like that lightly or people will get desensitized to them and ignore you once a real follower of the national socialistic idea shows up.

@@Damo2690 I mean...regardless of his personal ideals, his siege of Vraks series kept me sane through midnight, hour long drives from work, and something to look forward to every week after an uncomfortable incident, so I still really enjoy that series.
