I really love that you'd put Alexas Moreno's Silivas. She has been grown so much the last years (as the rest of the mexican national team) and her Silivas is evidence of it. 0:48

I agree--Simone and Vanessa were perfect; I think Morgan had a better landing than Leanne because she held still longer. Leanne put her foot out a split second too soon.

ive always wondered if gymnasts of former era's look at today's gymnastics and feel a degree of envy at how far things have progressed - especially the equipment - do they wonder how much greater their gymnastics woudl have been had it been like this, back then? Silvas for example - the floor surface she perfrmed on was 100 x harder and much les bounce

The thing is, we always view the newer equipment as a TOTAL advantage to the gymnasts but in the case of floor it is not all an advantage say for someone like Simone. Yes, it allows her to do the more difficult skills but because of the bounce it's also a challenge for her and other gymnasts to stick their landings properly. I read that the British girls did not fancy the SPIETH floor at all and found it was too bouncy.

The knees certainly remind you in later years how much they went through with all those hard landings. A spring floor is a must to help with landing impact. Gymnasts should be required to bend at knees when landing whether it be vaulting, tumble runs or dismounts.
