I have been listening to your channel for many years and enjoy it so much. I am a retired physician, now farmer of about 100 acres in south central Kentucky. It is remarkable how similar my farm is to yours. I have been using regenerate farming practices for the last 5 years and my land has improved tremendously since I started this practice. I have between 25-30 cattle, 20-50 chickens, a few sheep, and a donkey. I also have a huge raised bed garden and I preserve my food in a similar manner to you. I have learned so much from your channel over the years. You are a great blessing to me and I appreciate the Christ I see in you two. You are such positive individuals that brighten my day. Thank you so much.
My wife and I have been watching y'all's videos post for years we can't always watch your entire live videos because of our work schedules but we do love y'all we do enjoy your post thank you for what you do and keep on keeping on
We missed seeing you guys! We both had to work late. But we can attest to Gavin’s wonderful skill and hard work as a realtor. He worked his tail off helping us find what we were looking for and we cannot even begin to tell how excited we are to now have land outside of Ava and begin building our future farm. Definitely call Gavin if you are looking for land anywhere in or around Douglas County. He’s awesome!
I had a small cow calf 21:45 21:51 operation for about 38 years. Love my cows, but I do prefer grain fed beef. Their flavor to me is better. But raising cattle is enjoyable to me.
I learned a lot even though I am not a homesteader. I enjoy learning about cattle. I appreciate that you explain terms I am t familiar with and you don't make me feel ignorant for not knowing such terms. Thank you, Kevin ad Sarah, you are a blessing! I will definitely be praying for your dad's health and for our country!
I loved it when Kevin said "i change the oil, so i consider the tractor mine." I have driven our tractor but i consider it hubby's. But i sang "Green Acres" to him a lot when he bought the tractor.
PLEASE don't remove your video on goats vs cattle for meat and dairy. I'm going to look for it, now, but I'm a goats all the way girl. For some situations, they're best. Even though your opinions may have changed, you still have great insights that I love learning from!
Praying for your father, his nurses and his doctors and the family. And I second, Amen that God is in control and he will put in office who he wants. I will continue to pray for the leaders.
You mentioned venison & I know you hunt on your property. Have you ever considered raising your own deer? Different states allow personal use deer/elk farms (with permits). Depending on the state, dictates what types/breeds can be raised. My husband and I are looking into this as a homestead possibility because getting drawn for a deer tag in our state is becoming increasingly difficult. What are your thoughts on raising deer?
I have been growing exclusively in raised beds for the past 4 years. In our area we have rock problems maybe worse than you are running into - our lot is on top of a large amount of limestone, with caves below. I was planting an apple tree a couple of weekends ago, and dug out a huge amount of limestone out of the hole I put it in. If this tree doesn’t thrive, the next one goes into a large pot!
After Winter, when letting the cattle out into a field of greens again, they actually JUMP... for joy! Really fun to watch. Have your Cameras ready to show US, OK? Am going to share this one!
I am a day late & a dollar short for watching this live, but it was Burger King. Well shoot. I looked it up and it was Wendy's. I believe reality has once again been altered. Story of my life. 😁
Same here! I still have 3 teens at home so I get busy with dinner and all those kids things! I always mean to be in the live chat. I’m going to make myself an alarm! Love you guys!!!
Finally have fiber Internet, and now we are going to Quantum Internet after the "10 days of darkness" (no communications, except for trump's documentaries). ALL new computers and cell phones incoming!
A lot of good information here. Thank you. Didn't notice any glitches in video. Am interested in selling my home and looking for about 5-7 acres to homestead. cow/calf sharing so I can sell the calf to pay for whatever they need. 1/4 acre paddocks ok, on about 3-4 acres of my land? Would that work? Looking to raise laying and meat birds also. I live in southeast Louisiana.
