Yeah, and i thought Sailor Moon (the anime, haven't finished the manga) was bad at killing everyone off and then reviving them........ THEN I STARTED SUPERNTAURAL
Yeah, whenever I see commentary about that, I think "Wait a minute, were we supposed to feel bad about that?" I mean, they murdered SO MANY PEOPLE, not only Charlie! I agree that Dean was out of control, but no-one try to make me feel bad for the killing-people-to-take-their-body-parts family. Not gonna happen. No, not even the teen Styne. He knew about everything, and was quite happy as long as his murderous family kept him living in style.
Have they ever mentioned Jesus in Supernatural? I never thought about it before, but that's a huge omission for a show with such heavy biblical themes.
Yep just saw the scene and that just might be the only time the name has been mentioned, and oh, she didnt kill him she injected evil into him causing him to kill his wife
Vibhi Verma Eventually he gots there but initially on his death he got screwed and spent several years in hell, he totally got screwed for the entirety of the show!
@@eliorak341 I do agree with you there. When it was new to me it was such a twist to see Eve EVIL, it would have made a good 3-4 episodes with enough screen time before cutting her out. Did Cas feel fleshed out to you in that season?
@@kallyb1998 When they had the episode revealing Cas was behind it all, I thought the episode was really well done and it was a great twist, in part because it was all so unexpected for me. But the fact that it was made to be this big reveal and plot twist means that they didn't really dwell on it for the rest of the season so we didn't get to see this part of Cas until the very end. Plus, a lot of the angel civil war wasn't stuff we got to see on earth, so we didn't see Cas as much in general. I haven't yet rewatched season 6, so maybe I'd feel differently and notice hints or something a second time around, but I do sort of feel that while I love that they surprised me we didn't get to see that much of evil Cas or evil Eve (not to mention he died super quickly too). And I agree with you on Eve, I would've loved to see her fleshed out more
Eve was the 3rd strongest next to chuck and amara who hadn't even showed up at this point. They should of toke a entire season to beat her so yes it was to fast.
I just gotta say that the casting department got it "dead on" with the actor who plays death. So cool, so creepy, laid back, and so much better than "Billie". I wish he would have had more screen time. I hope when my time comes, Death brings me a Bacon Dog!!!
There's a lot of errors, misrepresentations, and important moments that were left out in this video, as pointed out by many comments, but im going to go through the ones I remember after watching the video. 1. Crowley was attempting to open the door to Purgatory to get to the souls, not hell. Then Cas and him would split them 50/50, which didn't really work out. 2. Sam didn't get Bobby's soul out of Purgatory, he used Purgatory to get to hell, to then get Bobby out of hell. 3. Crowley wasn't working with Naomi, he had one of her angels "On the payroll". 4. Grace can be taken from an angel then returned to the angel as long as the grace isn't used in a spell, or devoured (As we saw in season 4 with Anna), Cas was also considerably more weak because a lot of his grace was used in Metatron's spell to cast the angels out of heaven. 5. Sam didn't go through with the Trials because he was to weak, but because Dean stopped him. Sam was ready to die to close hell. 6. In season 10, Sam (working with Charlie, Rowena, and Crowley) tried many things to remove the Mark of Cain from Dean, but eventually found a cure in the Book of the Damned. Dean of course doesn't know about this because everything major between the brothers is kept secret, and in the midst of the whole thing, Charlie is killed. This causes Dean to go on a Stein rampage making him more bloodthirsty. 7. Following the previous mention, Dean decides that the only way to end his rampage (and remove the mark) is to be killed by Death, but Death can't (because of the mark), so Death decides that the only way to solve the problem is to send Dean to another planet, but not before he kills Sam. Dean nearly goes through with the plan, but instead decides to kill Death to save Sam, and right after that Rowena finishes the spell to remove the Mark from Dean, freeing Amara. 8. Mary was brainwashed when she mass killed a bunch of hunters, after Dean (and Tony) de-brainwashed her, no apologies were required, she had no choice in the matter. 9. Oh and Dean killed Hitler, yes Hitler, I feel like that's a pretty important mention. Other then that I can't really think of anymore off the top of my head, but I'm sure there was more. This video was alright (other than the politics and sarcasm), but you should really focus on what your putting out before making the video. It can confuse people and make the story feel worse then it really is.
14:09 - 14:19 has incorrect information. Dean Winchester went to Death in order to kill himself, but Death told Dean that the mark of Cain prevents Dean from being killed and removing the mark would unleash the darkness. Death offered Dean a chance to be relocated somewhere where he would still be alive and no longer a threat to others, but Dean would have to kill Sam, who in his attempt to free his brother from the mark might potentially unleash the darkness. Dean only killed death because he couldn't kill Sam and he wouldn't let Death kill Sam.
@@kevina.2269 I've been watching Supernatural since the night it premiered, but these recaps make me realize I've retained about 5% of the show's plot. It's incredibly easy to lose track of the details when there have been so many over such a long time.
Absolutely true, but the thing I find really ironic is that even if Dean HAD killed Sam, the spell was being performed right that moment by Rowena and Crowley - so it would have gone off anyway, thus Dean would have killed Sam for nothing and have been mucho pissed. Why Death didn't realise this is a mystery. I call bad writing on that one...
about the whole Jack killing Mary thing, it WAS an accident. The dude was clearly overwhelmed and kept telling her to leave him along. But Mary kept bothering him and accidentally killed me. You can also clearly tell he regretted what he did, by you know trying to resurrect her and if you saw the look on his face when the Winchesters saw what he did you can't spin it as "OH shit they discovered me." Okay cool thanks for trying to spin Jack as a villain but if you know the fandom we're gonna be mad
I’m gonna be honest....I’m glad jack killed Mary. I know, that’s awful, but I hated her. She lied to Sam and Dean, HER OWN SONS and almost manipulated them into joining the BMOL. She was almost as bad as John.
2:11 “Sam appears kind of...aroused” 😂😂😂 I literally died bc I said the EXCAT same thing when I first saw it. I remember my exact words were “damn Sam just got a whole by seeing dean turned into a monster”😫😫
9:01 - Sam wasn't too weak. Completing trial would've meant Sam would've had to die, which Dean saw as unnecessary, for the things they had learned. (killing hellhounds and curing Demons)
The whole point of the trials wasn't about what they learned, it was about closing the gates to Hell for good. That still wasn't a good enough reason for Dean, because there is no reason which would convince him to let Sammy die.
truth Dean would've killed everyone anyway, over Charlie but at the time, he also had the mark, right? so he's already juiced up, and bloodthirsty if you will (forgive my recollection, if it's wrong) thing is though, Dean is "toxic", but not bcz he's masculine lol - they're BOTH messed up, bcz their whole lives were written to turn them into killers with a cause - from BOTH of their parents' lineage, and upbringing - all the way back to the beginning of humanity lol - they literally never stood a chance at normal life I think Sam at one point, reminds him that Dean had always been the glue, and repairman of the whole family - he practically had to raise Sam, bcz dad was always gone looking for revenge when they were growing up - and all of them are flaming alcoholics, if nothing else lol - can't even blame them - they're as functional as it gets but yeah Dean holds on to too much - didn't express enough of his needs, until he's overwhelmed - he doesn't even think he's worthy of happiness - which is really sad - bcz of course he totally deserves it - he's the guy that saves the world 😭🥰
@Philosophy of freedom Nah, I think if Charlie hadn't died, Dean would've definitely been in control of the mark for a lot longer. In the episodes before her death we see Dean finally adjusting, giving up on the cure, Charlie's death was what made him snap.
Actually first he was taking grace from other angels and using it up. Then he found his grace in the library and was able to get his power back permanently. I agree tho. There was some stuff missed
Mistakes were made. Tbh tho the last 8 seasons are so packed with lore and madness that there's no way to get through all the details in one 30 minute video. It would probably have been a good idea to make it a 3 parter but I understand how much work that would've been. Your humor is addicting and I now have a timeline for the blur that was seasons 6-12
Right? An they ran from the law in one of the most recognizable cars in existence. City, state, federal, blacksite, city/rural, several multi-state and nationwide manhunts, officially 'killed by police' a few times. Only on this show, in that world.
i thought there’d be more mention of the Jodie and her girl gang in this timeline considering he explicitly mentioned how she’s a much needed good female character
well technically I guess you're right haha, but at the time it was a joke and retroactively it's even funnier because he ended up being God, although they definitely knew he was God at the end of season 5 (hence him vanishing in the finale) but I'm not sure if they had made that decision in season 4
My guy, youre slipping on very important info. The blade was he only thing that could hurt Michael and the real reason why Michael, partially, left dean. They spent most of the first half of the season trying to find this thing. They find it, just for Michael to retake dean and break the only in that can hurt him. Pretty epic
he left out a lot of main plot points but included the side minor event for some reason. i get its a lot of content to go through but this was full of loads of errors
You have some errors, more in the latest seasons, but is mostly ok. And do you have something against sammy? xD You didn't mention how Cas was the one who broke the wall which is the reason of Sam's hallucination, you didn't mention how cas was the one who savaes Sam absorbing the halucination either. And you really call sam weak in season 8 finale? It doesn't metter how strong you are, the point of the trial was "The Maximun Sacrifice", the trials were killing him! And at first Sam wanted to finish the trials even if he died, but Dean convice him not to. Sam is not weak...
Man I remember when the show was just fighting ghost with salt, wendigos with fire and going from town to town running from the law and saving the hot girl in need. Like seriously what happened to this show
Theres no aliens because there isn’t an lore about them and they aren’t in an mythologies but dragons and fairies actually are apart of multiple different mythologies
Also aliens technically do exist... in season 5 when death was telling dean just how insignificant humans are he mentioned about life on other planets I believe...
Let's also not forget Egyptians talking about chariots of fire flying through the sky. The hindu mythology believes that the gods flew through the sky using vehicles , and nordic aliens... that being said, it's a bunch of bologna and supernatural knows that. They know it's more likely that Angel's and demons and the supernatural exists than the idea that aliens come to earth. The whole idea that aliens come to earth is a joke basically. Nothing with sufficient technology is going to waste it's time.
1:24 actually the baby gets taken by the alpha shapeshifter who later dies so its fate is unknown (and the Campbells seemed more keen on using or killing it rather than raise it :/)
the couple who was gonna raise it wanted a kid - and Samuel wanted to condition it to work with the hunters it could've been a "win win" - but Big Daddy wanted his kid back in this case, I kinda think that makes more sense though - what parent is gonna let someone just take their kid? lol even if they are a "monster"
Thank you so much for this. I stopped watching in season 7 after the whole fast food burger plotline. After all these years I'm about to start watching again and I just don't have the strength to start at season one again! You're timeline videos have helped me refresh my memory on the early seasons and find out where I was up to. You're a legend!
'Ketch: Genetically engineered to be impossible to care about' - I had to pause this video from laughing at this. Great commentary. You got yourself a sub.
Corrections: killing Death isn't what unleashes Amara, it when the mark is remove from Dean by a spell in the book of darkness that Rowena, Crowley and Cas performed.
Going to a supernatural con in a month. Its been a long time since I've seen certain arcs in this show, so I was looking for a quick refresher since I wont have time to rewatch the entire series again before I go. This was perfect! Reminded me about everything that's happened along the road, and now I wont feel stupid for not remembering the major plot points after all these years....
dude, it was an accident. he literally said “please leave me alone” 12 times and she still wouldn’t listen. and it’s being heavily implied that Chuck/God wanted Jack to kill Mary and manipulated both of them to make it happen.
I mean, ppl in power sleep with ppl they "aren't supposed to" - we know of this happening throughout the known millennia - unfortunately, it still happens all the time the thing about the president on the show is that he was a widower? and he didn't feel it was ok to be open about his gf 😒 - so it wouldn't really apply to any recent presidents in real life lol pretty sad though - apparently ppl aren't adult enough to let the president have a relationship if he's not married - except, how could he get married, if he doesn't have a relationship with SOMEONE? lol **humans are dumb** 🙄🙄🤦
For the record, I thought Kevin was depicted to be a prophet of God? He wasn't reading and interpreting the tablets out of the goodness of his heart. He was bound to it. It was his role. His destiny. At least that's how I see it. You did a really good job with this summary and video overall. Amazing work!
Technically, only angels might be considered aliens, as God made them before he made the Earth, so they are from outside. He made leviathans before humans, but he made them on planet Earth, so they're no more alien than we are (or any other monster on the show). Faeries might be, we don't actually know where they come from, but actual mythology has them as an ancient spiritual race of Earth, not from another planet, so again, not aliens unless they're just visiting from a separate dimension...
@@Fledhyris I thought leviathan came from another dimension, called purgatory that isn't on earth is it? or are you saying that they WERE on earth, but they acted up, so Chuck put them in purgatory?
1.) When Michael broke out of Dean’s mind, he didn’t take control of Dean again, he goes straight to Rowena 2.) Jack didn’t kill Mary so that she wouldn’t tell Sam and Dean, he accidentally killed her because she wouldn’t leave him alone and he was basically having the nephlim equivalent of an anxiety attack.
@@aprilann4023 Actually. Yes, he originally freaked out because she said she was going to tell them, but when you watch it, he wasnt trying to kill her because she was going to tell him. They had already abandoned that subject. Jack had started panicking and Mary was trying to get him to calm down and to talk to him, and he just wanted her to shut up. Which is why, when he kills her, accidentally still, might I add, he yells out, "Shut up", to her. He even states later on that he just wanted her to be quiet. I'm not trying to excuse his behavior. Him killing Mary wasnt exactly good, but it was 1.) An accident. He never actually planned on killing Mary. And 2.) Was not because of her telling Sam and Dean. Not making excuses, only stating the facts that are very obvious.
I love this show, but I couldn't physically accomplish what you did here; my brain just refuses to process season 8 & on (except the vampire business with Dean, that played my heart like a harp.)
After not watching since season 13 I forgot so many things. There’s so many instances in the video where I’m like oh yeah that happened and a rush of memories come back to me
Ok so, I quit watching after that whole amara and god needing a good ol' hug thing happened, but WHOAH shit got crazy, didn't it? Sam shooting god? Just wow. Almost makes me want to watch it lol.
Outcast 031 same it’s fine if you can make fun of bot sides or add something to the conversation or punch upward if you go for the low hanging fruit it’s just not funny unless you make it funny
Slowdancing aliens that repeatedly probed the pledgemaster/football player dude and then slowdanced with him to the tune of eric deburghs': "lady in red". 😆
It is on this day, almost 19 minutes into this video, that I realize my dvr failed to record 2 seasons of this series when I thought it was on hiatus, and now I have to track that down.
yesterday ive watched the episode where he says it and i cant help but wonder how many things he knew about the multiverse, its workings, the tablets... he had more knowledge than the archangels could dream of
@@patricialessard8651 Yes. Thanks you for telling me i been saying he name the wrong way. I bet Megatron would be mad if he finds out someone been use he name lol.
@@yoda301 i stopped watching after death was killed by dean or that season where they was in the apocalyptic grey world. i rather just skip the BS and watch the final season
I would LOVE to see that baby all grown up and helping hunters like that one "were•dog" that went against his pack, bcz the family he stayed with was the first one to ever show him any kindness nature vs. nurture 🤔🧐
he def mentioned her coming back lol then we got to see her help with trying to remove the mark - and then she gets killed, so Dean goes all Kane and ends that Frankenfamily that murdered her
I know I am four years late, but I appreciate you synopsis here. You did great work, you're very talented. No sarcasm. But I must admit, this show is absolutely stupid and you saved me a lot of time discovering that for myself- and I'm grateful for that, honestly.
April Newhouse They took such an import character to the story and made her feel like a total stranger. They did the same with Bobby. She deserved better.
Instead of the poison “WRONG” comments. Thank you for putting this together could only imagine the editing and effort put in to complete this. Thanks again.
God did create the universe. but, big but here. He allowed it to flurish with "free will" in mind. Castiel even talked about when he was with Zack talking about watching the fish evolve and getting ready for God's greatest creation. The Soul, or humans at that point. Evolution and the bible happen together in the SN universe. It's really cool to think about really.
@@kuivia No, I don't think so. God is the writer of the Supernatural series. God would see Sn as fiction in this sense. But he allowed anatomy as far as it went. With only swaying events to happen. Example would be Heaven working as God's agent to make events occur. Such as cupids making John and Mary fall in love to make Dean and Sam. Not interfering with Azazel. Ect ect. God doesn't push events, he just watches with Heaven ready to accept another order.
What happened to this show? Things went downhill so fast. I only rewatch season 1-5 then stop and pretend it emeded. Thank god season 15 is the last season.
