I'm 36....heard this theme tune thousands of times.... but SEEING it being performed... just WOW. Masterpiece.

To think that he wrote this in his head on his drive home after seeing a pencil sketch of the opening and wrote the whole thing in a day.

Danny Elfman is a legend, not only composed one of my favorite tv shows. He composed one of my favorite movies of all time ” Spider-Man”. I surely think both titles wouldn't be the same without his work.

I never knew that Harrison Ford had an orchestra.

This is interesting, we are used to hear this theme as a custom but few really appreciate this is actually a masterpiece on a performance

That's German for 'The Bart, the'." ~gentle chuckles from the courtroom observers~ But seriously folks, this has to be perhaps the greatest musical TV theme ever written. Its whimsy is only matched by its sense of bland suburbia with a hint of cheekiness (obviously Bart) added. I have heard many attempts over the years to capture this live. This one is the best so far even if the timing is just a tad slow.

Anyone else notice at 0:44 how they were out of sync but then corrected themselves at 0:48, the sheer talent for that many people to take only 4 seconds to correct themselves is astounding. Excellent performance!!

And you can imagine that Simpsons attended this concert: Lisa is listening with great joy, Marge is delighted too, Bart is singing inappropriate words, Homer is trying to silence him, little Maggie is sucking on her pacifier and looking at everything, because she is first time at the concert, and grandpa Abe sleeps and wakes up only when music ended...

I love how the part of the opening with the untalented school band, the parts for each instrument were written to sound bad.

That was cool!

Just wonderful! It's a very difficult piece to play. I wish they'd shown the percussion section since there's so much going on there. It bothered me a tiny bit that the audience gave out with what seemed to me to be somewhat unenthusiastic applause, like they couldn't really take "cartoon" music very seriously. They should check out Carl Stalling's music.😀

Amazing magnificent the way it can be played is so diverse. I just love Simpsons intro theme song it is one of the best cartoon intro songs in history plain and simple. I wonder do they have the same Orchestra players when they restructure the sound of the song.
