29/04/2024 UPDATE: Hey everyone, RU-vid has glitched out on this video and for some reason restored the merch promo I cut out at the beginning, but without restoring the audio and so the entire video is majorly out of sync. I'll be in contact with the support team to hopefully get this resolved soon! 30/04/2024 UPDATE: I've fixed it now! Still have no idea why it happened, but I was able to revert to the original in RU-vid Studio and then cut the promo out again. Enjoy :) Also, 5 years?! How time flies...

Fun Fact: In the final stages of development, the devs were told to change how gravity works because it "just didn't feel right". This, of course, ruined how every jump in the game functioned which is why it's so easy to drive off ledges or crash into walls after getting serious air.

Also did anyone else make up their own "stories" while playing this as a kid? Like I remember playing as Marge and I think you could go into Mr.Berns mansion? And I think you could change her clothes? So I would go in there pretending it was her house and that she was rich and fancy. Or playing as Lisa I would drive all around that sunset area pretending she was a movie star? Idk, 10 year old stuff.

Massive respect to Tamago for explaining the whole Hit and Run story, it’s actually fairly complex compared to some modern games. It’s also quite impressive how this isn’t written by Official Simpsons Writers, like Tamago said it wouldn’t be hard to believe this is written by Official Simpsons Writers.

At first I didn’t have a memory card so nothing saved but my brother and I tried our best to get as far as possible any time we could. Level 2 was a blast, but Level 3 was absolutely nothing we’d imagine. It’s just so beautiful.

I loved Hit and Run. I'm 20 and I still love it. I remember as a kid, playing this game. It's such a nostalgic game. All the levels, the characters, cars, clothing, gameplay was amazing. They should bring it to the PS4 and PS5. Maybe update the graphics a tiny bit, not too much as it'll ruin the nostalgia. I miss playing this so much. I think I got it the same year as you back in 2005 when I was 5 years old. My brother had the black memory card, but I had the silver one.

I used to play this game as a kid and I finally found all my game discs. I love the cars in the game, although I always wondered why Homer's car was a convertible. Now that I'm older I can recognise some of the cars in the game; The comic book guy's car is an AMC Gremlin and Snake's car is a 1970 Dodge Coronet convertible. I never knew there was such a following for the game!

Don't feel too bad I only realised LAST YEAR that when you get 100 percent in every level you can go to the phone booth and press r1 (for ps2) and bring up a new menu that lets you drive any car in any level. For example you can use the toy car in level 1

I played this game when I was young, like 7-9 years old. And initially, I never got past the first level. Played at a much later date/age and I got all the way to Apu’s level. I honestly can’t remember if I ever finished the game but I somewhat remember the last level but I can’t say for certain. Anyway, I remember always using game cheats in my game to unlock all the vehicles, blow up cars on impact, gain invincibility, the works. It definitely made the missions a lot easier at times since I wasn’t the greatest when it came to completing them. I’m glad to finally know how the story ended though and see it’s completion. I wish I could have watched you play it live but beings that I just found your content yesterday and binged both the club penguin and neopets series, I’m hopeful to catch more of your content in the future :D

I never watched The Simpsons, but when I was younger, this game had such a profound effect on me and was (and still is) one of my favorite games of all time. And despite not really watching the show, I still knew the characters, got attached to them, and loved all the references that I did happen to know from the show. The soundtrack and gameplay were so enjoyable and I could play this game constantly.

This game will always be my favourite game of all time. I'm 20 now but this was the first video game I ever played back on the original Xbox when I was 4 years old and I kept replaying it multiple times right up until I was 13. I'll never forget how happy I was when I collected all the cards and scattered around the maps and unlocked the Itchy and Scratchy short film.

Wonderful review! I remember I first got it for the PS2. In fact, it was the first ever game I got for the PS2, when I got it for Christmas in 2004. And I didn't even have a memory card back then, so I had to find one eventually, while doing the first three levels all over again, and some...well, missions were hard to. In fact, actually, I remember when I came over to a friend's house, when I was in primary school, and I would notice my friend playing on the game, and I was so obsessed with it, that I really wanted to play it, but it was a shame that I had to go home, shortly afterwards, and I hadn't had the game myself, so I was lucky to have got it and the PS2 for Christmas in 2004, when my dad got it. And while I have completed it now, I still love the game. It's probably one of my favourite video games of all time. And I love how all these different mods come up on the PC. Speaking of the PC, I did also have a pirate copy, also...a demo version of the game for the PC, where only the first three missions of the first level were available, and I had it before I got the PS2, as well as the PS2 version of the game, but after I discovered my friend playing the game.
