Except that this show does it all the time, except when someone dies. There's an episode when Lisa and friends get lost in an island and the end of the episode an narrator says "And they comeback because magic"
@3DU you’re thinking of Das bus from season 9 when the kids got strandard and at the end the narrator says “and eventually they were rescued by, oh let’s say, moe”.
But if you think about it, Futurama already foretold that lie by having Bender ask when they'll make a second Simpsons movie after it having been over 1,000 years.
@@dogman15 in the SpongeBob SquarePants season 11's special episode The Legend of Bookini Bottom, Plankton tells the Flying Dutchman what it's like in SpongeBob's brain cuz he went into his brain in the second movie.
@@dogman15 The "X-files" episode after the first movie had two FBI higher-uos, named after film critics Janet Maslin and Peter Bart, comment on the reports Mulder and Scully filed about the events of the movie, using quotes from the film critic's reviews.
Especially with the cameo appearances by the movie characters. In order... The multi-eyed mutated squirrel President Schwarzenegger Colin Russ Cargill The medicine woman (who would go on to make a cameo when the Simpsons go to Vancouver for the 2010 winter olympics) Plopper Not to mention the crapload of references, like Moe dressed in his "Emperor of Springfield" attire, the "Pig Crap" silo on top of Homer's car, etc.
That's why I love this franchise. It's one thing to break the 4th wall, but it's another thing to break the 4th wall _without actually breaking the 4th wall._
I love that Bart's chalkboard says "I will not wait 20 years to make another movie." The Simpsons Movie came out Summer 2007, which is almost 16 years ago exactly. They've got four more years to release a second movie lol.
There's an episode where they reference it. Mr. Burns is trying to do something bad for some reason(can't remember off the top of my head) and one of the ideas he has is to put a dome over the city. Smithers tells him to remember that someone already did that and failed
jor ojed mr Burns actually had a dome built and was even hovering it over Springfield only for Lenny to yell out “it’s been done!” So they fly the dome away
There is an episode in season 30 where Ned Flanders references that him and Bart went fishing together and unless I missed anything, the movie is the only time it happened.
I still remember the phone gag. At the time almost everybody had the Nokia tune as their default ringtone, so the moment that happened some people started furiously shuffling to get their phones out. Seconds later when it was revealed to be Homer's phone, the entire cinema burst out laughing.
Max’s Awesome Stuff it shown again where Marge Lisa Maggie Bart and Marge are back in Springfield and Bart was looking at all the buildings and the school was not destroyed
I always found it weird how they didn't show us what happened to Spider Pig after the Simpsons left Springfield. His final appearence on the movie was when he dropped the family from a wooden plank to save them from a bunch of arrows when they were trying to cross it to get to Flanders' house. Turns out he just chilled in the house waiting for them like a good pet, huh. Well, that's fine to me :)
I remember that Matt Groening said that Springfieldians ate him ala Barbeque offscreen They were going to show it, but deemed it way too strong for the movie's tone
@@Qvartz_Lite And to be fair, I imagine most people would probably just assume that likely happened anyway, since there's no sort of reunion between him and Homer, and the town was in such disarray that the citizens were probably starting to eat whatever they could get their hands on.
@@gurvmlk isnt there a modern episode where Marge complains about Homer not taking care of Spider Pig (despite him not being in an episode until that point)
@@woobgamer5210 Maybe. I haven't watched Simpsons in ages. Even prior to the movie's release, it had been years. Not because of a lack of interest in the show, but more because sitcoms just aren't the sort of thing I often go out of my way to watch.
I saw The Simpsons Movie as soon as it came out, being a life long fan of the show! This episode didn’t air until MONTHS later in my country but I saw this intro online before the episode aired over here! For Christmas that year, I got The Simpsons Movie on Blu Ray and Surf’s Up on UMD, both of which I still have today!
I really would have loved to have the intro so we see all of the simpsons going about their daily lives in a destroyed Springfield. But this is great too
The animation looked great, just everything wasnt widescreen. And the quality of this video isn't that great, compared to what the intro and episode actually look like.
I love the lines Bart is writing at the beginning of this intro. In 2 more years, the time between the present and the Simpsons Movie will be the same as the time between the SImpsons Movie and the show's beginning
Wasn't there a scene where the 5 were at a panel and someone asked them "will there be another Simpsons movie?" Then all the Simpsons gave him a death glare.
that’s a gag on futurama when bender is at comic con and asks matt groening at the announcement panel of futurella if there will be another simpsons movie
This has already been reanimated and kept alive as an eternal thrall by Fox already. And considering how large a pop culture icon the Simpsons are, it'll likely stay like that for years to come, up until Dan Castellaneta or someone equally important, like Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, or Hank Azaria bites the dust, because while you could justify Mrs. Krabappel's death since she's a support character, the main Simpson's family and most of Hank's characters are so thematically important to the fabric of the Simpson's universe, their sudden disappearances or death will upset the balance of the show and make it impossible to justify continuing on, even if a substitute is found. The reason why Samurai Jack's Aku was able to be in there while remaining popular with his voice is because Makoto had an understudy in the form of Greg Baldwin, and that Greg was able to adapt when Makoto eventually did pass on. And with consideration of the trend regarding Mrs. Krabappel, it seems that there's no obvious understudies with the main voice cast.
@Jake Shattuck The Incredibles was Pixar. Plus, I think you're over-exaggerating Disney's awfulness. They generally make good movies. That being said, they aren't usually taking risks on said movies, and are generally talked less about because they aren't Snow White or Little Mermaid, where they were basically rifle shots in the dark for the Disney corporation.
I think it's amazing how detailed they are with this like instead of just drawing a school building that's been destroyed they remember that it's Canada Springfield elementary was perfectly fine when they got there so they chose to have the School building perfectly intact
The Simpsons has floating timelines and some episodes are part of a specific timelines. For examples there's multiple X-Mas specials and there's a timeline for each one of those, there's a timeline for the birthday episodes and it goes like that
@@peppinoandweskerfriendsfor3450 there's events like Lisa's birthday that already happened twice in the show, and the different x-mas specials and every last day of school episode. Every one of this cases are supposed to happened in the same year but that is completly impossible. So different timelines can explain those things, so in one timeline, The Simpsons celebrated X-mas and adopt Santa's little helper and in other time line The Simpsons celebrated X-mas and Bart accidentally burned the presents. You see same date but different events in different timelines
Oh my god, seeing Apocalypse Moe, the President, Boob Lady, Spider-Pig, Russ Cargill and Colin in the original show is strange, but awesome. Great fanservice.
*The Simpson’s movie Was actually really great and funny especially when Martin beat it up was actually really great and funny especially when Martin beat up the bullies with the bat or the wooden plank*
Gotta love the attempt at continuity… Even if it’s ultimately in vain considering how long the show is been going on, but you still have to appreciate the attempt.
0:36 it’s weird seeing the moment where Homer runs from the car in the newer style. Even though ever since they started using it, instead of Homer running from the car, he gets hit by it. I honestly like this better. Especially when it allows Homer to be more expressive.
