@@joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo6073 Why are all you youtube edgelords parroting this same bullshit? (generally regarded = youtube edgelords have decided this is the cool and smart opinion to have, so you write the same thing on every Simpsons related video like mindless drones)
They had the graphic ready so likely planned to try to find someone who looked most like him to do the joke but it backfired as nobody in the audience did so they just probably picked anyone with the slightest hint..which they also didn't
@crimsletons90 He has been a part of it for twenty years. It's not just the writers who create the Simpsons, it's an entire team and they're parts of the whole thing. As part of and as 'representative' of this team I feel he is allowed to accept any love for the Simpsons that is thrown at him (he didn't ask for the applause he merely accepted it gracefully). He deserves it. It wouldn't be the Simpsons without his excellent voice work!
I can't help but agree with you. The general concensus doesn't know the essence of casuality in terms of talk shows. Everyone cares too much about their appearances or how they could avoid getting a bad image, so they rely on getting on good terms with the public. I guess the difference is that people get really offended at the smallest things. Really, everyone's just blinded by their own ignorance here.
@Jason011987 oh, my bad, i misread 'unacknowledged', I thought you meant that no one ever criticises the quality collapse. What I meant to say is that its disappointing that all this criticism of the later seasons (probably deserved) has sort of tarnished the show's legacy. Perhaps they should have ended the series several years ago.
It's like South Park at this point, it'll only be worth anything when it ends and 10 years later it doesn't look like very repetitive plots about literally anything on the paper. At least it'll be less obvious...
+pendorran I agree ...first 2 seasons were good ...season 3-12 ..extraordinary ...13-17 ...good....now , so bad its a crime. I know the $$ is still amazing but Matt should've pulled the plug in 2010 !
@brettseeney Russell Brand, Noel Fielding, John Lennon, Ricky Gervais, Liam Gallagher, Damon Albarn... All pretty cool people. All seek or seeked attention.
@knaan163 I didn't say it was going unnoticed. What do you mean 'noticed' anyway? Are you saying you're sick of people being so perceptive? Or are you just lamenting the downfall? If so: 'hear, hear.'
I'm so sick of the great quality collapse of season ten going unacknowledged. People should only speak of either 'The Old Simpsons' or 'The New Simpsons.'
Yeah 20 years is impressive but not so much when you think that the show has gone downhill since 2000. Harry Shearer is actually being really kind to it because other times he has said that it hasn't been touching for years and stuff. I watched a new episode recently and its so tired its unbelievable. The witty, smart jokes and complex storyline it had in the 1990s is gone. Now its all about slapstick, mainly Homer just hurting himself.
Thats because its the highest rated comment,by reply its also a way of pointing the time difference to other voters of that comment. I just feel You've searched through the comment section just to find one you could reply to, I don't even watch the simpsons anymore nor do I remember why I cared, its just a bit of a loss to reply to me. You as a person think the simpsons went bad way before 2008, fantastic, but that infomation counts to nothing to a stranger on the internet.
it was probably 2008-2010 when i started realizing how bad the show got cuz they updated it to have more, like, political/social/cultural commentary...like south park. it was only the past couple of years i gave the simpsons another shot. for the most part it's still enjoyable for me. Rly, only the simpsons and probably south park and family guy will be the longest running shows.
You mean more like he is in his stand up? Sort of rambling and weird (in a fun way) and all that? I've seen him before in interviews so I'm not surprised but if that's what you mean I can understand why you might not expect him to be so laid back and stuff
@kosovanwhizkid I have to say, as someone who does absolutely not think the simpsons is any fun at all. I indeed do respect the fact that it is one of the most watched and longest living (to say it like that). So thumbs up if you either like the show or dont like it but agree with me:)
