Agreed. The subsequent soundtracks are all non-classical synthy generic music completely devoid of any sentimentality, imagination, nostalgia, spirit and soul, just like the games they represent i don't play the Sims now anymore.
Thanks for the welcome backs :) and sorry for my inactivity. There has been other things to attend and I had to fix the piano keys and get a new audio interface, but there's no denying I have also been plain lazy. I will definitely make more stuff in the near future!
I would love it if you made a tutorial of this, the hardest and best music of The Sims 1 *-* A good method is hard to find, it's like some logical we need to get and what Jerry Martin has.
This is my favourite song from the Sims and I'm SO impressed by your playing... I told myself I would learn this one day, and you've really inspired me (:
Literal goosebumps my man, beautiful cover, this brings me back to the good old days, when my mom was still around, living at my parents, going to school, no worries. I miss those times, life as an adult sucks. I wish I could go back... I miss you mom, every fucking day...
You described my feeling exactly omg!! I've been crying everyday and feeling so empty since her passing two days ago. Why can't we relive these moments again!! adulthood sucks so much!
Embarrassed as I am to say it, the first word that comes to mind when I hear this song is "rosebud". I spent more time messing around with cheat codes than "properly" playing the game.
I would type Klapaucius !;!;!;!:! as in the colon as the second last character so it would enter money into my account while popping out an error message, i'd then place a stapler on my Enter key, then go take a shower.
I'd do the same! First type !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then go to the start and hit right arrow and ; alternately, and add ;; at the end. Holding enter for a few seconds would give me all the money I could ever need.
I searched for this years ago before you posted it. Found myself searching for it again. I can't believe it EXISTS finally! THANK.YOU. Truly. This was very, VERY well played. Please never forget this piece! 💕
The way you move your hands playing this reminds me more of someone petting a very big cat or running your hand through hair than playing a piano and i love that. It looks very personal, if that makes sense.
Beautiful cover man, I can remember leaving my computer on with the sims in build mode to listen to the music while i went to sleep. If anyone remembers K-mart thats where I got my copy of the Sims!
7 years on i am still in awe. Truly one of the, if not the best cover of a legendary piece. I just started picking up the piano because of you and i want to learn this piece eventually. Do you by chance have the sheet music saved locally? :( The Google Link doesnt work anymore..
Also known as Frolicking Wind Dancer... couldnt find a video of anyone else covering this one, probably because of the difficulty level. Sounds wonderful. :)
Omg! I remember looking for this exact song on your chanel like months and months ago, maybe even over a year ago, because I saw your other sims things music and I really love this one and wanted a live version, so thanks a lot! :D favoruited
It's funny, I listen to this and as I hear points that I know that I mess up while playing, and my brain expects to hear the hesitation/mistakes and then it doesn't happen and I'm pleasantly surprised. Anyway awesome cover!
It's great to see you back and uploading! Such a great song, this is by far my favorite Sims theme and despite being very complex you played it very smoothly. Awesome work!
im TRYING to play this right know, just a pianist knows how much effort and talent it takes to play like that, you're awsome. Amazing interpetation. greetings from argentina :)
Glad to see your video, it would be great to see you play more Sims Built Theme. You're performance was great! Really brings back that good old days when playing the Sims. Brilliant!
Wonderful playing an interpretation! I must say that my favorite if the "build modes" is number 5, if you are looking for another one to record! Again, excellent playing!
#4 is by far the easiest. Short and simple. #2 and #6 have some tricky parts that can be overcome with practice. Nothing crazy. #1 involves a lot of movement in the right hand, here you need to be quick and precise. #3 has this syncopation thing going on between the hands, and it increases in difficulty over the last half. I don't know about #5, but I suspect it to be very rhythmically challenging. Probably at least as hard as #3.
You deserve so much more views and subs. This is my favorite piece of video game music, and you perform it the absolute best. I keep coming back to this video. A new audio interface would probably be a good idea though, and maybe a bit less input gain to keep the levels from going too hot. Cheers!
I love the music from the original The Sims music, especially all of the New Age Jazz of the build themes! Used to be really good at #1 and #4, but I keep not setting up my electric piano for play/practice and no longer am part of a '90s Alternative Rock cover band, so I haven't even really played piano for a while... And what I really want to learn (besides relearning all the stuff I used to play, like Super Mario World's Athletic and Water Themes, Pokemon Gen 1 Pokecenter theme, and others) is stuff like Megalovania and Chrono Trigger's 600 AD, but now I might have to work my way back up to those due to not keeping my hands trained...
It’s totally possible. You just have to really get strong with your left hand arpeggios and practice a lot. I’m working on the new beginnings piece. It will totally up your improvisation level.
Impressive! That's a pretty hard one to do too. No. 4 is a little easier, as it's a little less technical, but I still can't do it as I have no piano experience. Still fun to try to play what I can though.
