He was arrested and jailed for conspiracy under a repressive regime when countless others were executed, during the great terror in the 1930s. Even though Dimash sings and performs better than the other contestants he was too young (22 yrs old, the 1st youngest contestant ever on the show) foreigner, and wasn’t a well known singer. But that’s okay. He won the people’s heart. That means more to him than the title.

Happy birthday Marc. Dimash looked so majestic in this costume. This is Kazakh's folk song which has a story behind it. Beautifully sang . He was very proud to be able to sing this song that he did not really care what is going to happen if he win or not , was very glad that he was able to perform this song along with some local musicians in his school. Yes, I agree with you, he should have won all the way.

I was very touched, a person who had never heard about our country, our culture up to this point, was touched by a Kazakh folk song, He felt our boundless steppes, our culture! He's from Kazakhstan. His musicians are too, they're all in country garb and he's singing in his native language, Kazakh. They also speak Russian. But I like the angel analogy as well. Fitting.

It's not always the one who comes in first that has success in the future... his talent will take him where he wants to go and this gave him a platform to show his talent. Dimash came in second only because they had a tribute for the lady that won and giving her #1 in Singer was the best way to give her the tribute. It was not fair to Dimash who came in second because of this, but he said he was a winner anyway because now he was well known for for that he was grateful. Dimash's one and only passion is being able to perform his music and his Dears which are growing in numbers so fast it is getting scary. There are two current songs everyone will be requesting. In fact, I am very surprised you have not reacted to ANY Dimash Lately. The two coming up are current and his best of the best. One is SINFUL PASSION (GIVE ME) which he performed for the first time in Sochi, Russia. It was a cover of the song by A-Studio (the band behind Dimash) and since their lead singer had died, they had invited Dimash to sing the song in a way they knew only he could sing. That one dude I would bet is his manager or coach. He is singing in Kazach here. He sings in Russian/German, some English (he's learning).
