29:17 Fun Fact: Pokemon Showdown is actually watched by TPC, they allow them to do whatever they want, as long as the Pokemon they have in the main meta (SV OU, UU, RU, NU, PU, ZU) is available in game, which is why Showdown doesn't allow you to play the Hisuian Pokemon normally due to them not being in game yet Edit: Something I forgot to mention is that TPC has specifically told them to not gain money out of Showdown.
Can we just appreciate pat for always watching the sponsor segments and merch of the videos he reacts to and also extra promoting them to help out the original creator?
I'd argue that the EV/IV grind is the age old problem of trying to pad out playtime in a badly thought out way that ends up making you not want to play it anymore. As a fan of the games NIS makes, I've had to deal with this problem *a lot*
8:59 In my local Target there was a sign saying that they wouldn’t be selling any trading cards due to safety concerns around this time. One of most bizarre things ever.
I get why Pokémon doesn’t want to make a Shodown-esc platform themselves. For one, they want the competitions to basically be ads for their games. If it were a free website, there wouldn’t be much financial incentive. Secondly, Pokemon is very big on the whole “these are YOUR Pokémon” attitude. They’re all about making sure you can have any Pokémon from any previous gen in your Home roster (besides physical gen 1/2 carts). Making an official site where you can just generate any of them would kind of break that illusion. My idea to kind of meet in the middle is to make a stadium-esc mode, where players rent any 6 mons and can freely customize the moves, stats, etc, within the legal limits. All you would have to do for tournaments then is save your preferred rental team for wireless play.
I got Shield and my only issue was that I couldn't buy a top hat. EDIT: I just got to the Wrathful Person, and I just have to say that the only time I'd heard the name before was a SCIENCE of video where he apparently figured out how to Pay Day Farm really efficiently.
As for the "showdown in game" point, I think that it would work great as a post-game facility. Whether it is stand-alone or part of a battle frontier, it would be a great addition. You could then copy battle teams from the facility to your online battle teams and have a setting to enable them.
As someone “newer” to Pokémon (if you consider Gen 7 new) I’ve dealt with my fair share of a lot of these sins. If I say something like “SwSh are decent games” you bet your bottom dollar there’s gonna be a lot of wrath thrown around. I just wanna enjoy funny creature game and collect as much Pokémon as I can (gotta finish that LivingDex)
I'll be honest, I was just sitting on my chair waiting for the moment the V(irgin) name got dropped. That dumbass probably fits in like 5 sins, if not more.
To be fair it was stated that people in pokemon world married and had kids with pokemon, also to top it off like bruh its pretty obvious that Gardevoir and Lopunny was made as furry bait
I think i avoided gluttony, as i didn't have a DS, so gen 4 and 5 completely passed me by... So i had a sort of huge break for two entire generations, and i feel like it's the only reason i still enjoy Pokemon today, taking into account that Red was my first game in the series, and if i had given into my gluttony and played all of them, i would probably have been completely burned out on Pokemon these almost 30 years later...
I would love to have a post-game shop in each game where you can buy rare candies, bottle caps, mints, patches, capsules, shards and vitamins for basically nothing. An PLA-style move tutor would also be great. One-use TMs are nonsense. Game Freak always seems to gatekeep competitive play behind hours of grinding.
20:52 i spent 10 years shiny hunting riolu. From diamond to SwSh. I then proceeded to find one in SV in like 2-3 hours randomly. Literally went to the bathroom and was about to go to sleep and a golden puppy was on my screen
Envy was me when my gf is brand new to pokemon and im over running around the map to finish my violet dex so i can shiny hunt and out of the blue at work my gf send me a pic of her running into a FULL ODDS shiny empthra!!!
Im a gen oner and i love the games that have come out afterwards because i know games evolve i will always have a special place for gen 1 but it wont ever cloud or define my judgement on the franchise.
because of the 2020 trading card situation, a walmart in my town will only let you buy ONE pack of each set. They've done it through all trading cards too. Magic the gathering, pokemon, baseball cards....all of it. ONE pack.
0:40 yeah its really nice to see for example that gatekeeping around nuzlockes has basically been axed in large part from pchal telling people that he doesnt care about whatever rules a person has for their nuzlocke and just to do the ruleset thats the most fun for you Edit: also at 4:40 coming back after verlisify pchal bs and yeah again 100% agree that we should be able to gen a pokemon and it should 100% be legal and not be cheating
Bruh the issue isn't "they don't want people to play less" or w/e, it's that the game isn't balanced around competitive. They endorse certain competitive environs, but the game isn't meant for that kind of thing.
There Are No Laws Against The Pokémon Batman The Lopunny Is Here!! . . I Swear I Can't Even Look At Pokémon The Same Way Anymore All I Can Think Of Is The R34 . . And Blush-
Sexualised Gardevoir is my most hated sin of the pokemon community *IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE POKEMONS* *IT'S NOT ATTRACTIVE* *_I AM GOING TO BREAK SOMETHING FOR THE 17th TIME LIKE EVERY OTHER TIME I REMEMBERED THAT GARDEVOIR IS THE MOST SEXUALISED POKEMON_*
As a non-competitive, I actually like building competitive mons because I like the attachment I get to them… I still carry around Pokémon from Gen 3 that I trained as a kid. But I do think people take generated Mons too seriously. As long as the Pokémon is still legal, there shouldn’t be a problem with them. EVEN more so now that, for whatever stupid reason, Game Freak doesn’t let Synchronize force natures on encounters anymore… as a someone who breeds Pokémon for IVs and doesn’t like using mints since they just change stats instead of the nature as a whole, I am still very VERY salty about that.
imagine pokemon did a mario wonder and had no time limit for creating the game. that would give them the ability to make it look as polished as wonder does. i'm gonna say it there should be less things on the marked and less frequent. if a company makes a game every year they have to cut corners
Honestly, I find it even more disturbing that people make lewd art of underage characters in Pokémon. Just make an OC for your filth, don't add pedophilia to the pile.
Wait are those the games that are releasing on the switch for the GC? I already own TTYD, Luigi’s Mansion and Sunshine and I can’t wait to play through Pikmin and actually beat the game unlike my younger self
I know I’m gonna get absolute hate for this but for sure nostalgia with the region hints and the busted train I actually prefer SwSh. Didn’t even play SV after finishing the stories and probably won’t. Would rather replay SwSh or Legends every time
Bro im telling you that im on of the luckiest Pokemon player because every time i a play any Pokemon game i get 1 or two shinys each game without working to get shiny i just passing by a grass or an area and boom i got shiny
Online raids, although they have improved slightly since the beginning, are a total lag, once in a raid, I couldn't even click a move, since my Pokémon was frozen after exiting the pokèball, no, mine connection was not the problem, in general when the raid starts the game has an unexplainable drop in framerate, even doing it offline. Let's face it, the scarlet and violet adventure is semi-decent, even if in my opinion it remains "incomplete", and after finishing the game there is little to do. The tournament after the Pokémon league only offers single battles, when I think double battles should be a selectable option like in other games.
Would someone (me) still even be considered a part of the Pokemon community? I love Pokemon but only watched a bit of the show, seen the 1st 3 movies and never played a game of it
0:40 hell nah bro, you have too many toxic people in the community specially the shiny hunters, people that day otherwise haven’t interacted with enough people or are “famous” in some way shape or form.
About Pokèmon buying out Showdown… not likely. They could have bought out Uranium… Brick Bronze… or like a hundred other games, but they all eventually were taken down. (Not actually sure if Uranium was taken down, I just heard that it was).
My thoughts on what may be happening between Game Freak and the Pokemon Company. (It is long so. Read if you dare.) TLDR: I'd say Game Freak is seeing itself above and in control of the Pokémon Company when it should probably be the other way around. If... Anything. It'd be Game Freak breathing down The Pokemon Company's neck. Cause... The games get to new regions a WHOLE lot faster then the show does. So technically. Game Freak thinks its the one in control. Game Freak is just like "Oh! New region. New pokemon. New game. Cool. *yeets it into the stratosphere then holds hand out* Wheres the next one. I've already released the last one. Now wheres the next one. Come on. Chop chop." While the Pokemon Company is just trying to play catch up with the show. If the Pokemon Company WAS in control. Then Game freak would be working on the next games as the show goes on. That way. Once the show is done in the current region then we'd get BOTH a new series AND new games. And nothing would be wrong with the games cause Game Freak had BEYOND enough time to work on it.
"The Pokemon card craze has died down" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, no, no it hasn't. More people have started being vocal AGAINST it, but it's 1000% still happening. Look at what happens to the Japanese market every other week and tell me the craze has died down. It never died, it just shifted.
I feel like Nintendo are forcing The Pokemon company to take down fangames because it could ruin their image, but so many other companies are promoting them. Xbox one time gave a tutorial on how to mod a Xbox 360, Sonic fangames are praised, and FNAF had its own initiative that even made some fangames cannon to their ever-expanding lore. Come on Nintendo.
Being cringe is a sin? Guess Jesus really didn't die for nothing! Because embracing and admitting that you're cringe is the most chad thing you can do.
I am the complete opposite of pride I have like 48 and I think I'm just the worst at shiny catching ever Accidentally KO a shiny iron thorns At least I have to Saved so I could catch it still
For wrath, i remember a Reddit post talking about it being difficult to get a female poplio in go (because primarina is very feminine like) and derailed into some LGBT+ peoples or LGBT+ "Defender" calling this queerophobe and downvoting anyone not agreeing with them, even if they weren’t being queerophobe.
