The crazy thing is we haven’t even seen all the benefits yet. A lot of that was freeing up a ton of money between offloading Fournier and RJ and what we would have owed Quick. Brilliant move indeed.
As a Knicks fan I've never been prouder of them in my life or more relieved for a series to be over. That shit was taking years off of my life every game 😂
@@hazelsmith919He’s basically saying he did not expect someone else - other than his own imagination - to utter the phrase “tyson chandler offensive rebound”
@@waternotwater5562 I mean Josh Hart getting those rebounds is not on Embiid he not the one who supposed to box him out, and yeah on the offensive side in the 4th he doesnt do as good but I think he makes up for it with his defense
lebron got y'all thinking that being down 3-1 is no big deal. the amount of people ive seen fully convinced that the sixers were winning in 7 in the past day was crazy
It was Brunson that got bailed out by the officials. Constantly throwing himself onto defenders baiting the foul and contact. While Maxey got no calls at all.
I love the way you ended the video. All real basketball fans hate to see a talent, especially someone like Giannis injured in the first round. I know you mentioned this with jimmy as well but one of the reasons you are easily my favorite basketball youtuber
Classic Buddy. He acted like he had 0.3 seconds when he had 3.7 seconds and space to shoot or take an escape dribble. I think he was trying to draw a foul. Just lost all composure. Sad because until then it was the biggest and best moments of his career
I think you're forgetting the fact that the Knicks would have fouled him if he took much longer to shoot, which meant 2 FTs and virtually no chance at a win. He had to get a shot up quickly. Can't blame him for that.
@@telemachusr9598 I think you are forgetting he totally misplayed that situation. The defender backed off him so he could have shot the ball OR used an escape dribble and got a clean look. The defense has to be careful not to foul in the act of a three-point shot, so he should shoot in his proper motion and make the shot or bait the defender into fouling him for three FTAs. Instead, he panicked. The only rational conclusion is he panicked. I don't know how you can defend a player panicking.
@@greggandrew1001 pretty rare for anyone to fall for a 3 pt foul in that situation. If you think he could have gotten a good shot off in that situation, I have a bridge to sell you. Knicks had virtually no reason to not foul him in that situation... (I'm a Knicks fan btw.) It was a really tough position for him to be in. Not saying he didn't panic at all, but his options were also very limited
Watching the Knicks play is like watching the Chicago bulls play from 2010-2015 or so… up by 30 with 5 minutes left in the game and all the starters still playing. Tibs is running this team On fumes… at the end of game 5 including overtime the Knicks and embid looked like they ran track and field for 3 hours straight.
He's also had Tobias Harris making max money on his team for the last 5 years. You look up the 40 highest paid players in 2023 and the only guy even close to as bad as Tobias is... Ben fuckin Simmons
Hes never “healthy” for the playoffs. Always disappears in the 4th. Luckily didnt get shut down by Gasol/Horford this year, “only” lost to a team missing their 2nd best player and key starters missing games
jalen brunson doing the trae young luka move where he catches you on his hip and jumps backwards thats supposed to be illegal its crazy it was never called it a offensive foul one time
Every time a foul was called on the Sixers this series Nick Nurse would always get emotional and lose his mind at the refs. Was annoying asf to see. Glad they’re going to Cancun
I still believe sixers is a better team after this loss, and they'll get over this hump without any problems., As long as they trust each other and play as a team.. sixers in 8
^ this guy thought Cleveland would beat NY last year. And he thought Philly would beat NY this year too. Constantly wrong, constantly seething and coping.
They need to land LeBron or PG in Free agency. Resign Oubre and Hield to round out the starting 5, and see if you can convince Batum to hold off retirement for 1 more year. Than just sign a backup big and a couple role players, and hopefully at the trade deadline you can get another big piece
Embid is really looking like dirk before 2011, a choker. And philly and embid are looking like Hakeem and the rockets before 94 when they were called choke city
Burnson was unbelievable again but I’ll say OG and Josh Hart were the hero’s of this game they hit some clutch shots and Josh Hart hitting that three to seal the game that was insane Pacers and Knicks it’s though I had the Pacers as my dark horse at the start of the season but the Knicks man this team is special. It’s a clash of two styles I’ll say the Knicks win in 6 but won’t be shocked if the Pacers go to the ECF because of their high power offense. Also because Thibs is having these guys play 40 plus minutes they have to be running on fumes that’s going to play a factor in the series since the Pacers play at a faster pace
I'm thinking this too, Knicks are good defensively. But a lot of their offense comes from crashing the boards for second chances, which could get abused by Pacers fast pace down the floor.
Once again, just like in 2022, the Bucks will run it back next year with the exact same flawed coach, convincing themselves that "actually, we wouldve gone all the way if it wasnt for injuries", when no, they would have not. Another wasted year in 2025, i really dont doubt Giannis leaves in 2026
Haven't you learn anything from the Miami series last year? Upsets happen all the time. Luckily for you Stevens and Mazzulla are smarter than you. I am sure they know not to disrespect their opponents.
Embiid needs to lose some serious weight this summer. It's clearly taken its toll on his knees and means the entire team falls apart every single 4th quarter.
@@theetruth8626 Ok...? and the Knicks weren't missing a key rotational player and a 3x All-star, 2x all-nba caliber player? go be a sore loser somewhere else every team deals with injuries
@@ricis0nline quit acting like the team didn't played better without Randle. That's the whole point of New York trying to figure out what to do with Randle when he comes back to keep from throwing off the chemistry. Philly at full strength is better than New York that's the facts. That's the reason y'all running around parading like y'all beat some real competition.
@@theetruth8626 You're just wrong? When everyone was healthy (minus Robinson) the Knicks were 11-2 with a top 5 offense and defense in the month of January, beating teams like Denver, Philly(Prior to Embiid's injury) and Minnesota and they played together perfectly fine. Brunson was shooting with better efficiency too when compared to Feb and March because of Randle's gravity. I know it's been a tradition to shit on the Knicks and to hate on Randle but you clearly didn't watch their games this year.
No smart fan that knows ball wants a max Paul George on their team at that age when it’s clear strong role players is how championships are won, Paul disappeared yesterday like Tobias , not a goose egg but it’s bad
Gonna be honest this was an awful series from an officiating standpoint. The tre young style twerking fouls from brunson are so unbelievably tiering, maxy could have been shot in the head and they never would have called it a foul.
I remember thinking Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons (the process) was going to go way farther in the future, then Jayson, Tatum, and Jaylen Brown crazy to think how wrong I was
Embiid is not a winner, or the #1 option on a championship team. Phenomenal player, wouldve won mvp if he continued what he was doing this season (didnt miss games). But the dude becomes extremely passive in every 4th quarter. I think a Ingram/Valancuinas trade makes sense. Interested in everyones takes
Embiid is tough player to evaluate because he’s ax top five level talent but going forward he’s one more knee injury away from his career being over. Whatever the Sixers do it won’t matter if they can’t find a way for him to get to the Postseason healthy
refs sold this series games 1,6 and 2 especially. philly was playing ny and the refs for half the series and only got game 3 bias their way. games 4-5 were valid tho.
They had to inbound with 3 seconds left, they were going to foul if he dribbled. If they did, Buddy goes to the line and he has to miss the second shot and they still have to get an offensive rebound and get a quick tip or shot, not likely.
If the 76ers really wanna win they should build on the existing chemistry. Keep Oubre, add Tyus Jones, Derrick Jones jr (if he doesn't re-sign with Dallas), Bruce Brown, and Malik Monk (if he doesn't re-sign). This roster could compete against anyone.
Now that I’ve cooled down, I’m actually not upset over this series. Maxey and Embiid both averaged 30. Maxey showed that he’s fr and Embiid at 50-65 percent did better than what I expected. Ofc the discourse Embiid will get will be negative because of the past playoffs, however only looking at this series he did good. This series was an ECF type of series. Knicks played great and every game was close. None of the Brent Brown/Doc Rivers explosions now that we have a championship level coach in Nick Nurse. I think this is the “Start” not “the end” of the Maxey Embiid era, with a good coach, cap space, and a lot of draft picks. You learn a lot about your team in those close games, now the pressures on Daryl Morey to make the moves to build around the two stars.
I don’t know how you can say Joel did “good.” Maybe considering his condition he did good, but in actuality he was not. Shot sub 41% in 4 of 6 games. 7-25 (28%) in the 4th. Costly turnovers. You mentioned it yourself, he’s going to be critiqued based on prior playoff exits and rightfully so. This one was not any different. A 50 point game on a bad leg doesn’t change his glaring flaws and inability to stay healthy after a decade in the league.
And to add, this was their year with a “good coach.” Is Nurse all of a sudden not on the pedestal he was when the season started? Every year there’s a scapegoat for this team’s shortcomings but the common denominator is Joel Embiid.
Im tired of seeing every comment blame everybody else besides Embiid. Every year he shits the bed in the playoffs but its never his fault. Had one game where he shot over 50%. It's not his fault he sucked
Exactly my sentiment. I’m a sixer fan myself and have tried explaining this to our fans and they’re just blind man. Dude is historically garbage in elimination games, although he was pretty good tonight. Shot 7-25 in the 4th this series, but it is what it is. Let them run it back one more time. Nobody to blame it on next year.
I critized him every year and i still think he would be a great second option but he played good this season tbh, imo this 4th quarter stuff is overrated, he scored 39 pts
@@smh-TV This is the 7th straight postseason i’ve heard “but he played injured.” At this point it’s more of a reason to trade him than it is an excuse. Yall gotta stop with that.
@@beli722he won mvp last year. Not showing up in the 4th just doesnt cut it. Who cares if he had 39. They still fucking lost. If he would have made just 2 more shots this series goes to 7.
The Bucks sent a clear message this season that despite making a massive trade, their intentions were to lose early by hiring Doc. Can Giannis stay healthy again? Like damn.
I didn't forsee the Bucks season ending like this when they traded for Lillard in the off-season. They're stuck with fraud coach Doc Rivers unless ownership is keen on paying two coaches to sit at home for the next four years(did Griffin sign a four year deal? I know they did for Doc for some stupid reason) and they don't really have any way I can see of getting younger pieces around Giannis.
Only thing we can really do is trade Dame. I'll be honest here, as excited as I was for the trade, I just don't think a Giannis and Dame pairing can work.
Injuries aside Milwaukee wasn’t beating Indiana anyway their offense was never good enough or potent enough to keep up with them. They also missed a lot of 3s this series which is why they weren’t getting any further than maybe second round
@@bilindabutcher8913 no they didn’t it showed when they played them this year and ultimately it’s shown itself in a lot of series as well as during the year trends are trends it happens all the time in the nba it isn’t like other sports where there’s a lot of turnover from year to year. Talent and chemistry usually show themselves to be consistent
@@CrazyxEnigma yes it changes but are we really going to look at Milwaukee and say oh things are gonna change just because they got a new coach or a star player that at this point is a year or 2 away from his best years being behind him as a title contender? No! They looked slow, old, boring in the half court, disinterested when things didn’t work & panicked when they gave up runs all marks of a team that I’ve been saying for years even before they did win a championship doesn’t have the makeup of a championship team to me. There’s evidence even pointing to Giannis and his still glaring weaknesses as a half court player who can’t or at least at this stage won’t kill you enough from the outside to make everyone else around him more of a threat. That’s why they brought dame there to do what he couldn’t or wasn’t willing to work on enough to expand his game. It’s been too many seasons before & after that title that prove it
For anyone criticizing buddy hields shot heres what im pretty sure he was thinking. On their possession when philly was down 3 the knicks fouled and didnt even let the knicks attempt a 3. Philly has no timeouts so hield thought they would foul again not letting them take 3. He tried predicting the foul and shooting before they could foul or even possiblly drawing a shooting foul if they did try to foul them.
It felt like Embiid disappeared in the 4th quarter again. I don’t remember him scoring much at all. How many points did the league MVP have in this elimination game 4th quarter?
@@bilindabutcher8913 There has to be actual talent available for cap space to be worth anything. The headliners this year are 40 year old Lebron and a 35 year old Paul George who have player options and may not even hit the market. It’s time to accept the process is done.
As a sixer fan i ain’t even mad at this series. It was one where it showed the heart that everybody had on both sides. Hats off to the Knicks for playing a great series 🤝 wishing yall the best
Knicks are better TEAM without him. With him on the court they just have more prestigious names but that doesn't necessary transition to a quality gameplay when it comes to team.
