Agreed! But having him in the supporting role instead of leading made no sense to me. I know the movie companies do that sometimes in order to improve the chances of their actor/actress to win, but Haley was in this entire movie. And if you look back, I think they felt Spacey was a shoo-in, but other than Spacey, it was a weak year for Leading Actor. Regardless, he should have won over Michael Caine.

One of my favorite movies of all time. I can not believe I didn't know that was Donnie Wahlberg who played Vincent. He was unrecognizable to me. I've always known him to be an incredible actor, but he knocked this one out of the park. M. Night Shyamalan is a brilliant Director. This whole cast and story was fantastic. There is rarely a movie that I can't figure out the plot, etc. He definitely got me with the ending. :)

It was intelligently written, it portrayed realistic ( 3 dimensional) human beings in their entirety… It was more simply put ; very engrossing from beginning to end, SO INTRIGUING and unpredictable that I was thoroughly entertained. Usually, I can see what’s coming, so tired of formula movies. This story was SO REFRESHING…. 💝♾

The opening of this video, with M Night S talking about writing "garbage", and tossing it out, reminded me of my high school art teacher, Mr. Clercx. He taught watercolor, and would tell us to just start painting, painting, and painting, that the first ones are all going to be over-thought garbage that's been done before, but to just keep painting and tossing, until you got all of the pre-conceived, derivative stuff out your system. Because after that was when the REAL good stuff could finally show up in your work and it starts to get interesting...

The Sixth Sense is one of my favorite films, ever. can't really recall another movie that has so many amazing & wildly different elements that meld together so perfectly. It's heartwarming & heartbreaking and terrifying & comforting, so wonderfully-acted by legit EVERY SINGLE ACTOR. Can't believe I never knew really anything about the BTS details considering how much I obsessively seek out that kinda stuff. Loved finding this featurette & now i'm gonna continue watching people react to this film for the first time on youtube lol. Am I beyond dumb for believing that so many of these people didn't know about the big twist? I know I was spoiled because I'm a baby b*tch & didn't watch this film until I was basically an adult but I was still shook because it left my brain while I watched. Damn, sorry for this long ass fuck essay of a comment, got too amped.

the carzy thimg about the ending is that once its revealed it seems soo obvious in hindsight!! yet very few ppl actually guessed it before his wife drops the ring... on a rewatch u literally feel dumb for not guessing the twist right away.. the way after the opening scene it right away cuts to bruce on the bench, no mention of how he "survived", the way bruce just "is" in the room at any given time without any scenes showing how hwe got there, how bruce only interacts with cole n no one else throughout the movie. its just clue after clue after clue, its not even "hidden", rather its just not pointing out the obvious even tho its RIGHT THERE in ftont of you!.. i even remember thinking how weird it was that coles mom never introduces the doctor that is sitting opposite her, he is just in their living room n no one mentions him at all, but after cole starts talking to him i just forgot about how weird it was lol. the other big clue i picked up on but still ignored was how his wife alwaya only had one plate made out during dinner! it happens more than once where he realizes she didnt make him a plate, let alone the fact that she never talk to or acknowledges him when he is speaking to her.. its purposely frames like she is angry and distant with him for whayever reason without any explanation, which makes no sense on a rewatch but the 1st time thru we just accept it as "i guess he made her angry at some point".. its really a artform to not even hide the twist, rather lay it all out and more or less 'hide it in plain view!"..it is laid out for astute viewers as well as subtly laid out in dialogue as well.. when cole finally tells him "i see dead ppl, they dont know theyre dead, they see what they want to see" its telling the veiwers the twist in that moment! for ppl who are really paying attention. especially if we kept in mind how the movie began!! most of us dont even remember that he gets shot n that the movie cuts away in a very unatural way...its just fascinating

The Sixth Sense is 25 years old! It did okay at the box office but the infamous twist had people coming back for more making $293 million domestically and $672 million worldwide Haley Joel Osment got an Oscar nomination out of 6 total Many claim that Bruce Willis is under acting but he has this very inward approach that works for this particular role plus this helped his career after so many slumps This was M. Night Shyamalan's first major success into the mainstream and infamous for having one of the most memorable twists in cinema being very profound and audacious Shyamalan has such a distinct style he brings to every one of his projects and it’s quite fascinating to see each time So many of his signature tropes are recognized from the long shots to the extreme wide angle lens to the twist ending itself There’s very good acting from Willis, Osment who knocks it out of the park, even Collette as this boys mother, quotable lines, the music by Howard Shore is effective being quite haunting but also touching, and the shots of Philadelphia are impressive with many of the statues involving human architecture staring out There’s so many instances of the color red spread which adds some clever visual touches There’s a need for communication and understanding so it’s not just seeing ghosts, the true horror is not being seen or heard or understood by those around us Adults can still learn to listen to kids around for awareness, knowledge, and healing It also says a lot about us prioritizing our work over our loved ones, being so wrapped up in the things we’re “supposed” to be doing I watched this as a kid and even certain parts scared me a lot which works to its advantage remaining a staple of pop culture even being parodied in other media forms A lot of character, scares, heart, and some doses of humor so whatever you think of Shyamalan’s career afterwards you have to admire his creative identity here It’s a very human ghost story that doesn’t have to rely on expensive gory special effects to be effective

I feel this film so much more now than I did when I first saw it as I can relate my own experiences with the spirit realm to Hayley Joel Osments and Donnie Whalbergs character. Although my abilities didn't show themselves to me until I was older, I have experienced the good and the bad side of having the gift. Sadly I don't have an open minded shrink or parents. They just think it's an illness. So, I can relate to having to deal with so called well meaning people who are just not seeing the big picture and the burden of experiencing stuff and having to keep it largely to myself. This film is legendary with some superb acting. Should have won best film at the Oscars in my opinion.

There's one woman in the movie, " No Country for old Men" that's British. And even talks with a Texas accent. Much talent right there.

Donnie is much more talented as an actor than his brother. Now as far as music goes, they equally suck. Markey Mark had one big advantage being backed up by the Funky Bunch...

My best horror movie experience in a theater. It premiered on a Friday the 13th during a terrible thunderstorm and the theater was packed tickets sold out. Great experience! Had a lot fun.

Great film, I lived this as a kid myself. I’m 65 now, and once in a while I still need to sleep with the lights on. I just told my siblings about what I had to live through.

@@passion4posh I am a 65 year old retired Art teacher. I didn’t accept my psychic abilities until I was in my mid 40’s I have worked on missing person cases and a local murder cases since then. A lot of people think it might be “cool” to have these abilities. It caused me a lot of suffering when I was young and it made me feel isolated. Now I have accepted it and try to use it to help others. I’m writing my story. My working title is “Tales of a Reluctant Psychic”. ❤️

@@dreamcrone I am also a psychic but abilities didn't show themselves until I was in my twenties. I have experienced the wonderful and am experiencing the terrible but still maintain its a gift. Its just a shame in my case the dark side came along to ruin it for me. I would certainly read your book. Look forward to it. Would love to help others withy abilities but now plagued by demonic realm who are blocking me so I don't know of I will ever be able to do that.

@@saraoconnor6169 I just told my sister and brother this year. I think my parents knew something was wrong with me. I never told them. The first time I brought a spirit home with me was after a sleepover in 6th grade for 3 days it was relentless. Every time I would sit down to relax with the family it would try to enter my body. I didn’t know how to protect myself so I would jump up and move to another chair. Eventually I left the house when they noticed I was acting strange and asked me what was wrong with me. After 3 days of torture and very little sleep I gathered all my internal willpower, stamped my foot and yelled no!!! It worked. The fear was always there put it gave me a bit of relief.
