I actually quite enjoy the camera work in this series. It’s more about the interview instead of the sketchbook itself. There are enough videos where all they show is the page and you never get a feel for the person who creates the art. It’s a difference I can appreciate. Well done!
To the people complaining about the camera shots: you can literally pause the video and watch the drawings for as long as you want. It's nice to see the faces and expressions behind the art that, to this point, we're already used to. It tells you something more about their art. To see their illustration, you already have like a million different other social media sites.
I love seeing pro artists take about the problem they have with their art and what they go through and I can give my self some slack just knowing that even pros have the same issues
because they want (in my opinion) to show the artist's behind the works, and show their line of thoughts about anything they want that drawing makes them think. I think its an amazing series of videos because showing a powerpoint of pure work, or a complete interview of an artist without showing the work wouldn't attract to most people. The closeups just makes it less boring
I find the macro shots of the faces weird and uncomfortable. I always look away from the screen to avoid looking at all the small details on people's faces. Please don't do that, it's kind of gross XD
This kid does that weird thing where you whhiiiiisper everything you want to accentuate in his sentences in the attempt to impart some form of extra importance to what hes saying..... its very strange how often he does this.. just something I couldn’t quite help but notice.
I think it’s a ‘not speaking in your native language’ thing, especially when it's english. A lot of phrases in your head almost become like quotes so you give it this extra flair as if it exists on its own.
It could be a way to shout without making any noise I think, often getting a similar response socially. My son (he's 11) does the same, and I swear I feel like he's shouting some times even though he doesn't, and he loves the reaction he gets 😂
Couldn't disagree more. I do not want another "sketchbook tour" video. I want to get to know the artist and their motivations, which I think this captures very well.
Editors were trying to make it high production quality by always cutting back to his face and ruined the whole vid. I WANT TO SEE THE SKETCHES, NOT HIS FACE
