hard times here in canada. thank you so much for the content. as a fellow journeyman mechanic I wish you boys all the best in 2021. Allen you are a legend. I really used your advise on electrical. Somehow you made wiring a car make sense. Know that sharing your knowledge has made me a better tech. Never stop learning. Merry xmas boys.
@@theskidfactory who would have thought linking up with 2 fellas on an internet forum all that time ago would change your life like this hey? But you only get back what you put in, and the time you invested in them got its justified return. Legitimately couldn't be happier for you fellas. Good things should happen for good people more often in this world.
I’ve just gone 2nd year in my apprenticeship as a heavy vehicle mechanic and I’m 34, ands it’s from watching you guys, McM and Benny’s videos that my misses told me to go do something I enjoy, it’s never to late to start. Merry Christmas Guys!
Good on you mate. I always say, find something you want to do and just keep walking towards it. No matter when you start, if you don't start you don't finish.
Pro tip for all the young guys starting out- Never step foot on the Tool Trucks and never buy the tool truck brand $10,000 box..... it’s a tool box, not a tool. Tekton/Gear Wrench tools will keep you working without bankrupting yourself.
Agreed all you do is make the tool guy rich, there’s plenty other sources these days for getting the tools you need, you don’t need to buy “the brand name" shit just shop around online. Damn tool trucks had me in debt for at least 10 years when I first started!
I know guys now that have been in the industry for 40 years and still owe the tool trucks tens of thousands. It’s a shame. I’m a fan of the Gear wrench stuff, priced about right and the Mac Tool guy will warranty it out.
Yeah I’ve been in the business 30+ years and paid off my last bill about 10 years ago, been buying shit from Amazon/AliExpress/Harbor Freight and whatever else I can find online ever since.
Having watched the Howie Did it video just before I put this on, I thought the same. But this isn't scripted I think. Looks like they spoke what they had to say as it happened. Easy to have things slip your mind when you're on the spot I reckon?
Sad to hear how difficult it was at the beginning but nice that it's managed to get a bit easier, and also heart warming to hear that Marty and Moog helped 🙂
Thanks for another stellar year of content dudes. Marty and Blair may have given you a solid leg up, but it never would have continued without your hard work and determination to make it happen. Merry Christmas to the both of you and your families, and cant wait to see where this takes you in 2021 💪🏻 ZING ON!
P.S. The Crown is totally getting the filthy 502 out of the HJ ute with a pair of 76mm wuhan war whistles down the back, teamed up by either a beefy 4L80 or maybe a TH400 with a gear vendors. And I ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT WAIT! Please Al, be my spirit animal, you filthy animal.
I first caught wind of 'Turbo Yoda' on the MCM Gramps/Supergramps builds and was instantly captivated by the knowledge, skill and enigma. When you guys announced you were starting your own channel, I couldn't be more excited! I've watched every video you've put out since, and enjoyed every minute! The best days start out watching a new Skid Factory video! Glad everything is working out for you guys, and look forward to all the builds and whatever else is in store for the future!
It's amazing to see how you've come, from the days of building Super Gramps. To then starting out on MCM2 TV, to now finally having your own channel. We can't thanks Marty & Blair for pushing you guys to give it a fair old crack, now just look at the awesome content we have, along with you guys pushing for new build and challenges in every project. Merry Xmas to all at The Skid Factory and let's get ready to harder in 2021
The advice for apprentices is exactly the path I followed and luckily the dealership I was in had a hand in every pie. I learnt service, transmission, power steer, electronics, refrigeration, gas, paint and panel. Diagnostic work was in there once all this was done but I've been working in my own workshop in my own backyard on anything that comes in the door since. Look after your back, hearing and customers.
Pulling the heart strings when woody says to al “I’d consider you my best mate” can tell you look up to him a lot and it’s an amazing dynamic how well you both work together, hopefully another good year for the projects, have a good one boys! All the way from Snowy Scotland! 🍻 🇦🇺🤝🏴
In this heavily demanding industry it's tough to keep evolving and finding new things to do and film. Yes I first started seeing Al, especially in MCM videos but for the audience like us to be sitting at home or at work breaks holiday or not, to be watching content where we ask you to take us along what you do and how you do it. We appreciate you, and I wanna thank you, as a fan. This is content we want, to have for ourselves or to see done. Turning spanners and just thinking out a build to see how it goes can get really frustrating sometimes. We look at you guys are role models, in how you get shit done and how we wished we knew you in person or we could work with you, with your skills and experience! Happy holidays guys! And thank you!
There's a heap of channels that didn't get a mention. They can't say them all. We all get the gist. Bom is great though. I wouldn't be surprised when the world is open again that they go see the boys over there.
Thanks Guys so much ... I love watching your vids every week ... I visited Oz again last year and look forward to being back over there again soon. Your car scene is unique in a good way and its refreshing to see you guys having fun with mates and getting on with work rather than just trying to build "semma ready" cars ...
And we get to nerd out occasionally with some in depth technical discussion, not just bolt on upgrades using sponsored parts. There's fabrication, there's innovation, and there's education. The perfect trio!
Merry Christmas guys, you've powered through a tough year for us all with grace and comedy. I believe we'd all agree the Torry was hard yakka, anyone who can't wait a few weeks to get a new build video from you doesn't deserve your attention. Hoping the new year brings great things, mansions and triple turbo Crowns😜🤪😜, for you.
Loved what you have done with DeBoss lately. You didn't mention it. But, you clearly follow Bad Obsession Motorsports. They also clearly follow you. Also, shout out to Marty and Moog for helping them. I love this channel. Hoping it has great success.
Merry christmas from the UK. Your videos are part of what has kept me sane during the lockdowns. I picked up an old MX5 back in feburary and have been sorting that out. Now i'm seriously thinking of ditching the BP and swapping a 1UZ in there but keeping things on the outside looking as close to standard as possible. Mechanically i'm very much a novice but electrical tasks are easy. One day i'll get there even if it takes years to do.
Merry Christmas to youse too, and all the rest of the bunch at the party! So a quad rotor eh? Rob Dahm can attest to the cost of it for sure, but the end result is absolutely wild. Here's to another great year of Skid Factory
You guys are legends, so glad that you did put your heads down and make it work when it got challenging🤙🏼 I love that MCM was able to forge a path for so many awesome Aussie channels to make content and get out there!
You two are absolute legends! Still by far my favourite RU-vid channel. Highlight of my Wednesdays. Was an awesome experience to meet you both on your trip here to NZ. Big props to Al for mentioning his dream build if doing a quad rotor!!! I’m sure we’ll see a rotor build on the channel one day. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas epic people from Bulgaria. All the best to you and your love ones. Thank you for the inspection and being so down to earth with all off as people. Happy Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas guys. I started to build my own wiring loom over the holidays putting a k into an older Honda. Have rewatched a couple of your wiring vids 3-4 times this week. Thanks for all the content.
Like I said to Marty and Moog, yours and their videos are bringing me some joy and smiles during this very difficult time of year in a very difficult year.
From the great state of maine here in the USA merry Christmas ☃️☃️☃️☃️🎄🎄🎄 to you and thanks for the great content and letting us see how you rock it down there!!!
Merry Christmas legends! What a ripper year of entertainment you've brought us all 👌🏼 Woody, you're a man after my own heart with the "shouse" idea, hopefully I'll have mine sorted in 2021! Signing off, AAardvark FREE BEETLE Aaron Cutts 🍻
I will, and I'm sure I'm not alone, watch every second of video posted by you mates. Even if it's a second channel with off clips and short one day adjustments and tunes on your mate cars.
Always love the content guys, just two down to earth people that totally enjoy what they do and know how to give back to their mates. Looking forward to seeing what you get done in 2021. Merry Christmas boys.
