@@Daxank That is an incredibly ironic sentence. And probably true, as it would be regarding Sandler. Also, yes, I'm pretty sure he's aware of Cinema Snob. Seriously, given the fact that nearly all critics have trashed his films thus far (with the possible exception of Armond White), and he's neither an idiot nor oblivious to that fact.
I'm someone who has no interest in actors and can only recognize the most famous ones by name, in other words, a cinema pleb. Yet I still laugh at all his references and name dropping jokes.
Tyler motherfucking Perry. 4th richest director in Hollywood. A self made man if there ever was one. I may not like all of his movies, but he's definitely one of my heroes.
@@daniexmachinayou know that racist stereotype that only black people seem to really enjoy his movies, even when they’re trying not to? There’s some real truth to that, it’s honestly scary. I already know the writing in those Madea movies are so shit, but I still watch them and laugh at the funny big black woman beating the shit out of cops and bad children, but I think it’s still awesome he shouted out Brad…even though he probably doesn’t even remember saying this now
So Tyler Perry actually mentioned the Cinema Snob. How many Snob videos has he seen? Uh-oh, this means the next Madea film could guest star The Geek! You've doomed us all Brad!
I don't want to scare anyone, but I'm going to give it to you straight about the Cinema Snob. His body was never recovered from the cinema after he died. And if you listen to the old timers in town, they'll tell you he's still out there...some sort of demented creature, surviving in the wilderness, full grown by now. Stalking...stealing what he needs, living off wild animals and vegetation. Some folks claim they've even seen him...right in this area. The girl who survived that night at AMC Showplace the day they showed TMNT, she claimed she saw him. She disappeared two months later. Vanished. Blood was everywhere. No one knows what happened to her. Legend has it that the Snob saw Oogieloves that night...and he took his revenge. A revenge that he'll continue to seek if anyone ever enters his wilderness again. And by now, I guess you all know, we're the first to return here. Five years...five long years he's been dormant...and he's hungry. The snob's out there...watching...always on the prowl for intruders. Waiting to kill...waiting to devour. Thirsty for young reviewers.
You are confusing this film with "Silent Night, Deadly Night." The antagonist in "Silent Night, Deadly Night" is famous for saying "garbage day" while on his rampage. That character does not appear in "Slumber Party Massacre."
I am still in fricken AWE of finding out Rita Mae Brown wrote this movie.. I LOVED her Sneaky Pie Brown books as a teenager (I still do.. the nostalgia is strong).. GAHHHHH.. Geeking out! .. Man sometimes I think my love for the horror genre was just destiny.. I wasn't nearly as interested in it back then and it comes full circle anyway.. I know I sound retarded but seriously! She's still writing those Sneaky Pie Brown books too!! Admittedly I've fallen behind in the series, but this is definitely a sign that I need to catch up :) .. You made my friggen day Snob..
“You sure girls don’t wanna split up like the guys did or are you having fun NOT being stupid?” Why does that summarize EVERY. SINGLE. Horror movie to exist?
I was dying at "Denim Voorhees". Nice shoutout to Brinke Stevens, too--she, Debbie Rochon, Jill Schoelen, Deborah Foreman and Phoebe Cates are my dream '80s crushes.
I'm surprised he didn't point out that a slasher movie that was written by a feminist and directed by a woman, contains more sleaze and nudity than most 80s slashers.
He kinda brings up the fact she was a female activist and feminist etc in the beginning , it's not a topic I feel needs to be hammered home that much. There is so much more to be horrified by here.
Darren Moxam The high school shower scene, which wasn’t being sexualized in any way and had all of the girls covered up either by towels or the shower wall? God, just because a woman is in her bra or towel or is naked, it doesn’t have to be a sexual thing. God forbid a woman take a shower. You shouldn’t feel like a sexual predator just because women are casually talking in a shower room when there *isn’t even actual nudity shown* and any of the implied nudity is covered up. Besides, a number of feminists are for casual nudity due to the fact that women are often demonized and shamed for even wearing shorts that are “too short”, so even if there was nudity, it’s not even hypocrisy or ironic in any way. The fact of the matter is that there are many ways that people approach feminism and the way that most people (and especially men) think of it isn’t the reality.
yeah, a lot of feminists are in favor of treating women being topless the same way the law treats men being topless. The status quo "Oh no, that nipple is attached to someone with a vagina! It is an Illegal Nipple!" standard is...kinda weird if you think about it. Especially when transgender people come into play. When does a person transitioning from male-presenting to female-presenting have nipples that can't be shown in public?
These slasher reviews of yours never get old. In fact, they only get better with time. And the fact that you have a Siamese cat is just icing on this cake of perfection.🖤
No what it shows it that he'll parrot any greeting into a camera if you give him enough money. Like most C list celebs at a convention, that's what they're there for.
Do schools still have functioning showers for the students to use? Mine sure didn’t. It had a little area in the far corner with a cluster of sprinklers in the ceiling and I never saw anyone using it, especially after gym class
so i was watching some Powerdrill Massacre videos, and this came up.... I was pretty excited cuz i had completely forgotten about these. used to watch them religiously. Guess im binging this now =D
And the day before my birthday! What a great present! I'm serious, too. I always love your work but I'm so glad you've moved away from religious films - at least for a while. There's so much hatred and willful ignorance spilling from those movies that I couldn't even finish watching a few of your reviews; I have no idea how you actually watched the full runtimes, more than once, to write your episodes.
Perfect choice for the show. About time! The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) is just a wonderful guilty pleasure. Its one of the biggest "by-the-numbers" slasher films ever made, and that's saying something... But it delivers exactly what I paid for. Not too long, and never feels boring. A good cheesy flick to pop in and have a few laughs over... That Tyler Perry appearance... Holy shit! I never would have seen that coming. Way to go Yayo Gutierrez! I just hope Mr. Perry doesn't sue...
SPM is truly in my top 15 favorite films, slasher or otherwise. I have so many memories and joy connected to this and the sequel (I like Pt. 3 well enough, but I don’t love it, nor do I enjoy rewatching it like I do the first 2).
Earlier tonight, I attended a double-feature of this movie and "Ms. 45"! I still have a soft spot for the original "Slumber Party Massacre", especially it looks practically Oscar-worthy compared to the second one! And is just me, or did the scene in the basement directly inspire the scene from "Pulp Fiction" where Bruce Willis as Butch is trying to decide which weapon to use to save Marcellus? I'm convinced that Tarantino must have seen this movie first, I'd bet my life on it!
Heh, one of thew few times I've watched a Cinema Snob review of something I've actually seen before. The sequel seems weird, look forward to seeing that covered!
Hilarious review can’t stop laughing throughout the video, fantastic job. Funny that girl is eating pizza from dead delivery pizza guy and her friends are disgusted by it too 😂.
