My practice time has never been more comfortable. Less wires to step around, play along to tracks via Bluetooth and sounds great thru headphones. The new Control X footswitch is so awesome. I will also say that some of the guitar amps like the British 30 work great with bass when properly eq'd.
I love the Mini for acoustic guitar, dobro, and lap steel guitar in a jam, even a large acoustic jam. I went online and set it up the way I wanted for acoustic and clean jazz. For those, I can play with the volume all the way up. For a Ubass, I can only turn it up half way with distorting the speaker, which makes it about 90 decibels, or a little more. About as loud as a loud banjo. Fine for a small acoustic jam. Maybe not for a big one, alas. I also have a Positive Grid Spark, and while that is louder, it still makes the speakers rumble over halfway up.
I clicked on their link on your YT page, and after reading some reviews it seem as if some people are having problems getting their delivered to them. Positive Grid blamed it Worldwide supply chain issues, which could be true so I think I will wait on ordering one until said issues are resolved.
I ordered one on the day pre orders were available and I’m still waiting. Mine should be coming the first 10 days or so of June. But this happened last time with the Spark 40. I ordered in January and got it in July…. Pretty sure positive grid should have learned how to throttle sales vs production rate. But no this is the second time around and same old story, same old situation. Tis a shame
They blame their inability to meet their pre-orders on all kinds of things. If the spark (not mini) is any indication you should wait till they give you a firm shipping date at checkout if you're not ready to wait a few extra months for fulfillment.
I ordered one from them directly and got it today, just over a week later. However, on my account page, it’s showing that the order is still being processed so even though orders are being filled quickly, it seems their order department is still behind in other areas.
It's a southern thing. Instead of 'turn off' and 'turn on' they say 'cut off' and 'cut on' I've never heard it used like 'cut up' but he just means 'turn up'
Too bad they don't care about their customers when they have issues... They delete well earned criticism.. The hardware, I will never touch.... I have actual spent time reading the REAL issues in the forums... Any company that attacks and censors their customers speech about PG's failures, is a criminal organization..
Hey Travis - how does the Spark Mini handle the low B on a 5/6 string bass? Thinking of getting one of these as a slightly more portable alternative to my Phil Jones Double Four (which handles the low B magnificently!)
It works well with my B string. I do get a little nervous, using the that low of B when the volume of the amp is loud, just because of how small the speaker is. But using it at normal volumes it works great! Hope that helps!
I got a mini and I'm disappointed that the bass sounds don't really impress me and it's not loud enough to use when jamming with acoustic guitar players. I'll be looking for a better solution. (It's quite good for the guitar, but the bass... not so much.)
It's 10 watts with a tiny speaker I would never expect an amp this tiny to be loud enough to play with others. If it was loud enough to play with others there would be so many videos out talking about how there is so much sound from such a small speaker.
It's disappointing that it built with lithium battery not with normal battery so the battery will die 4 or 5 years or maybe before if u using it much this id bullshit it's a amp not a computer or a phone this is a strategy of taking our money over and over i have a vox mini with normal battery since 8 years and still good of it's will be with lithium battery u know the end 😉👍🏻
