If you had to name this controller what would it be? Definitely looking forward to the giveaway stream for this killer Smartpad Controller! I've linked all of my reviews for the different Battle Beaver's I've tried out here on the channel in the video description. Stay awesome everyone, see you soon 👌
Rip-off... $450 for a controller that breaks in the first 6 months and they wouldn't fix it free of charge ... I wouldn't recommend BB controllers at all.
I have always wonder why a gaming controller company has not make a controller with buttons on the back of the controller instead of the front face of it? Obviously it would be for certain games, maybe all games? But it would be something. I have a BattleBeaver for my PS4 and I never use the front 4 buttons anymore (I have a BB with 2 buttons on the left and 2 buttons on the right). I keep both my thumbs on the joysticks and my fingers on the back buttons makes gaming so much easier!
I build them as a side hussle, made some really nice controllers along with parts from other retailers, the digital triggers are really good but you need to be careful when fitting them or when you press L2 or R2 your L1 amd R1 wont work properly but 99% of the time you wont notice it. The swappable thumb sticks are great too, the back button kits button placement isnt the best, the dual sense kits that are in the pipeline look a lot better
@@aldworth33 True, some parts you have to be careful with. I built two Xbox controllers and made some money off them. The one thing that irks me about the kits - most of the time, the front shells aren't as tight of a fit as I'd like them. It's actually fun making them. I've also made two PS4 controllers for myself
@@mb3939 yeah the ps4 shells aren't 100% either the hard shells arent too bad but the soft touch ones are about 90% as far as fit goes, but obviously you're not paying pennies and expecting premium results. I tell the customers if they want to spend the money spend money it'll be 100% but spend 50% less and get 90% of the product quality isnt bad if you ask me.
That is by far my biggest issue with the ps5 that took me almost 5 months to get... my $200+ custom scuf controller is useless unless I play the ps4 version of whatever game I'm playing... so no 120Hz support cause they don't do variable refresh rate "yet"... so basically between that and the pathetic storage space I paid over $500 for a ps4 with a cooling and storage upgrade that takes up twice as much space on my desk
Yes you can use the Cronus Zen with the PS4 hori controller plugged in, it registers your PS4 as a PS5 controller and you can play PS5 games with your PS4 controller hope that helps. I build custom controllers I wouldn't mind sending one out to you to review.
Because of your channel Ive been wanting a BB custom for years. Finally I have ordered one. Prob about 3-4 weeks ago, so I e still got quite the wait. But man, I am super stoked. Edit: Finally shipped. Wait time was 12 weeks.
Built mine but says 8 to 12 weeks wait time due to the fact I want custom built. I bought aim controller before issues first week, send it back asked for a refund the build quality feels like a cheap PS4 controller of alibaba. I was disappointed I still have my scuf past 6 months still going strong. I wasted my money on aim controller was really upset and they don’t give you a refund even if you hate it, or came faulty they don’t care, thing abut aim controller is they offer lifetime warranty that’s the only good thing abut them, but are very fragile controllers they pay for the shipping return too. But I know why that is they don’t use original controllers, but for the ps5 there’s no unofficial ps5 controller out there so they can’t go doing that. So if you do go aim controller only go for the ps5 controller.
wait time is a major con.. i spent a good price on my custom and i love it BUT i got it in 12 weeks and when i contacted them they always said it should arrive in a week. In reality u will wait 8 weeks or more which is really really annoying
Might be unrelated, but my right stick had increased tension and I’ve dealt with extreme unidirectional drift since the day I unboxed. Hoped it would “break in” and tried to make it work, but should’ve sent it for repair/replacement. I really like the controller and company so hopefully my case was just a fluke.
I am very confused can someone help me. The smartpad controller you can see him holding has 4 backside buttons. however, the smartpad "shooter" option only has 2 buttons. Is the smartpad controller he is using a customized one or what because that is confusing?
Yes he has a custom smart pad controller. The one he’s using allows for up-to 4 back buttons. The “shooter” option is a preset option, though cheaper, only allows for 2 back buttons with buttons preset to X & O ONLY. I opted for the custom smart pad with 2 back buttons with the programmable chip to have the ability to re map. Hope this helps.
Its still considered cheating due to the tos of most games but it can be hard to detect. Just don’t use it in a competitive setting bc you’ll eventually get banned.
Doesn't an adapter alway come with extra input lag because you go wired? this whole forcing to play with Dualsense on ps5 is such a scam. I had a dualshock 4 aim controller which i really liked. but now i was forced to uy a ps5 one. This came in broken (but usable) and i dont really like the fit. Now i ordered a PS5 battlebeaver. But all this has cost me the same money as a new ps5..... Just because sony don't wan't me to play my DS4. it's a joke.
i think the Cronus Zen allows you to use any controller let alone a DS4 on PS5, but many people look at it as a cheating device since you can load custom firmware to it as well
@Imran A I'm sort of getting drift on my right stick, but I'm sending it back for a replacement as it's within 28 days. I think it's because I put so much pressure on one side of the stick. So with my replacement I'm putting KontrolFreek Galaxy's on both sticks, so that I have good grip resting my thumbs more in the middle.
I’m struggling too return my controller, does anyone have any pointers on the matter? I can’t find a return sheet or how I’m supposed to return it. My reason for the return is that i chosed Standard-low option with soft press on my 4 back buttons, and I would not recommend this, they are too close and too sensitive so u can’t rest ur fingers normally. I would go with the medium - lower option, I have «small» hands though. I have increased tension and it’s just not working for me, the aiming is by no doubt easier too control, but what I didn’t expect is that it is slower in general, i went from 5-5 in sense too 8-8 and it’s still too slow and that makes it impossible too use for me. Extremely hard too snipe as well with increased.
@@mikenojones6861 I called them and they said you can but your have to buy it, receive it, then send it back to be modified. I don’t understand why but at that point you might as well just customize one because it’ll take the same amount of time
That's the reason I went with the Xbox series x. I did not like how Playstation put limits on what games you can use the battle beaver controller. I love Battlebeaver!
i was wondering if the smartpad controllers came with extreme thumbstick tension for the quick pick controllers because im not seeing that option im only seeing the option on their custom builds?
because of yur durability review on battle beaver in general i jumpd head first n orderd one.. i built multiple to see wut options would b best n now i am waiting 8 weeks lol .. thank yu for yur honest reviews i do much appreciate it
@AIR BEAR just use the Cronus Zen with the PS5 Dongle or a Speciality Controller (PS5 Authentication): guide.cronusmax.com/systems/playstation-5 It's all I use with my scuff.
air bear would you or would you not prefer this controller for fornite if you don't what battle beaver controller and customs would you prefer for better performs if you could text me back or even or make a video about best performs battle beaver for fornite i would really enjoy that one of you biggest fans
I bought a Scuf Impact and once I held it on my hand I regretted it, don’t like the feel and the paddles don’t feel comfortable, I’ll be saving up and buying a Battle Beaver
@@xSiMBuH yeah I heard but I’m fine with the wait if the end result feels a lot more comfortable, just sucks none of my friends has a Battle beaver for me to be able to feel it first
I have a battle beaver I definitely would get one again. I wouldn’t get z sticks again don’t like them at all. Also my right analog is very loose already after 3 weeks so pretty sure something is broke or not working properly.
Wouldn’t interchangeable sticks will be best bet as if u get stick drift u just take them off and add whatever 1 u want, instead of just getting it fully in there where u can’t change it, and have to but a new controller?
I have a battle beaver because of airbear and Everytime I watch a video that is sponsored by scuf I always make sure to say scuf sucks battle beaver all the way!
I would not recommend I got mine less than 2 months ago and it’s already bugging out on me I was waiting over 3 weeks for a controller that I paid hard earned cash for now I just can’t play games for a long time till I can earn cash since I am only 15.
I emailed Battle Beavers since it’s been quite awhile on my order for a custom controller (6 weeks now) and I understand they estimated 8 weeks but still... the wait is unbearable. I’m tempted to buy a quick pick just so I don’t have to dream about how they feel... Here’s a snippet of what support replied with: “We are currently working on orders placed on March 10th. We expect your order, placed on April 24th, to reach the front of our queue sometime in July.” I don’t know how long build time lasts but hopefully it doesn’t go until August.
@@aidenrose1834 PS4 (playing on PC), still no email about shipping notification or anything. I think if I ask again, I’ll probably be told which spot in line I’ll be in.
I was looking for a controller so I could change from my Xbox elite series 2 to a ps4 controller because I’ve heard the ps4 controller works better for warzone I’ll be buying one of these for sure !
If you would of bought a custom controller of me, I would of been ready to post your controller right away as a smaller company just starting out, they should be ready to be sent out right away. I've got controllers ready and waiting to be sent out or purchased from me directly.
Can you do some more PS5 controllers. I just took a dive and bought a custom Cinch controller but it would be great to get your opinion on them too as well as modded zone. Great content as always
@@aidenrose1834 it hasn't arrived yet - build time is meant to be 6 - 8 weeks but I didn't opt to change them. There is no option currently to get extended thumbsticks, just change the colour. When it comes, I will get back to you
The thing about the Dual Sense being the only controller for PS5 games does somewhat make sense though (even if it is a money grab). The Dual Sense has two features that are not on the Dual Shock 4 - that being the haptic feedback (which delivers more precise rumble that would need to be coded for) and the adjustable trigger tension (which also has code for it). For the haptics, it is a bit simple in that if the PS5 could use both the DS4 and the Dual Sense for PS5 games, then the DS4 rumble would be what is primarily coded into the game (and probably the only form of haptics knowing that most devs have tight schedules imposed upon them by their greedy publishers [God of War is an example - they had a tight schedule that did not allow them to flesh the game out as much as they wanted, hence why there are multiple reskinned troll bosses]). This would mean that a key selling point of the dual sense - that being how precise the haptics are - would be lost. The other problem would be that the current coding for the DS4 haptics has the rumble start early due to it being produced by a motor. The Dual Sense uses magnets instead to create haptics/ rumble (it basically uses a type of speaker) and can produce sensations almost immediately - which would be a big detriment for some games if the DS4 code was used. The adjustable trigger tensions is also something that devs might ignore if the DS4 was also usable. Something similar happened with the Xbox 1's rumble triggers - albeit this was more due to the fact that the DS4 did not have them and thus they were ignored. Aside from those two differences, the Dual Shock 4 and the Dual Sense are pretty similar in terms of internals (even their thumbstick modules are the same, only the grip itself is different lol).
Do not get the interchangeable thumbsticks. They’re the same ones on the AIM controllers and they aren’t durable at all. You’re better off with Kontrol Freeks.
Why not if u get stick drift u can just change them out for like z sticks, xbox sticks, or even buy scuff sticks and put them on in seconds. Then have to buy a new controller when u get stick drift, cause u can’t change the sticks?
@@itztune5915 the thumbsticks aren’t the reason for stick drift, it’s the joystick. The interchangeable sticks doesn’t completely change the joystick just the top half of the thumbstick.
@@itztune5915 no you’d still have to take off the front shell in order to completely change the thumbstick and like I said the thumbsticks has nothing to do with the controller drifting. Learn from my experience and never get these interchangeable sticks. The part that connects the 2 piece together gets loose then eventually breaks.
i still dont understand how you guys can use these flat top or dish shaped thumbsticks, since sony went away from domed thumbsticks the controllers have gotten so bad cause they have no accuracy or overall control
That’s funny Cos I’m actually so bad at aiming with domed thumbsticks. I had a scuf with domed thumbsticks and my recoil control was nonexistent and when I got a new one with the regular thumbsticks it got so much better
@@blvcksabath2529 that literally makes no sense......a domed thumbstick give you full overall control and because of that overal its what give you the great accuracy a domed stick gives you cause it allows you to do micromovements cause of the full surface area, a flat top thumbstick does not allow any of that cause its a FLAT surface so overal you are forced to use the edges for any type of movement
