This one is already one year old and shot wit a Galaxy A7 Phone I'm gonna get better Gear for filming someday... Maybe! ;) Disclaimer: All credits belong to the band.... or just Billy Corgan? Loved that Album anyway ;)
I've always thought the drums take center stage in this song. Just a beautiful song, from beginning the end. You did such a nice job. I think Jimmy would be proud.
Same here! It was such a shame to see only a few drum covers when I genuinely thought there’d be many. For me, the drums have always been my favorite part.
Dude yes!! I’ve always felt the same about this song, the drumming is what gets me. I saw SP live last year in Austin and I lost my shit when they played this song, it’s one of my all time favorites
Absolutely beautiful and wonderful. I'm a HUGE die-hard Pumpkins fan and this song, no matter the version or rendition, always brings tears to my eyes.
This is one of my all-time favorite Pumpkins songs and the drums are such a huge and beautiful part of the song. The drums are too often underrated in how they can help build the feeling and intensity of a song and I feel like this song is just *perfection* I think Jimmy Chamberlin would approve of this cover 😁
@@TheFlowFM your kit has a very similar tonal quality to the original, which makes the song what it is imo. Very nice work and thank you for your response 😁
Love the song, love the lyrics and voice of Billy's, love the atmosphere of the instruments but what I love the most is the drums of this song, you did it great!
Excelente!!! siempre me he imaginado tocando esta gran tema de Los Smashing que es uno de mis favoritos. Recién lo veo , lo subiste el día de mi cumpleaños que curioso. Te felicito, esta canción es poderosamente hermosa! Smashing Forever!!
It is a beautiful song. Billy Corgan’s lyrics were good. But what I remember and notice every time are the drums. Jimmy jams away in this one! I saw it on a late night performance possibly Leno or Letterman.
So is Jimmi Chamberlain someone drummers lookup to in a way? His skills are so amazing and his drumming so complex, as is needed to complement Corgan's writing, not easy to put a drum track on some of his stuff. Porcelaina is a great unique piece. Do that?
Ive heard this song over a thousand times, but really only because it’s set to my alarm on my phone every day I wake up. I’m not a drummer or a guitarist, hell I can’t even play the kazoo but I can slap my belly a little bit to this before I roll outta bed. Every morning I’m amazed at the drums in this song, it seems difficult as hell but what do I know. On a scale of 1 to 10…how hard is it?
Hey Brent! Thanks for commenting! Tough question... I'm definately not good at putting art on a scale. Also it is quite subjective for each individual, cause we all have our strenghts and weaknesses, as drummers, as persons, guess u know the struggle😅 For J. Chamberlin (who wrote the drums) i'd give it a solid 3 maybe (?), because drumlines like this one just seem to flow of him and he is a very very good drummer, means he's capable to do ten times harder stuff if needed (and he seems to dose his capabilities wisely for each song). For me to nail it so that i was nearly okay with the output it was a 5 maybe (cause obviously i had to reproduce the handwriting of someone else and his style is far away from mine). But the Main thing i chose to cover it, was not bc of how hard it is. I simply love that song and the energy it transfers and when it came out i wanted to be able to play it some day (Means this was also a gift to my past self😇). Also it made me practice to play with more velocity - which still is far from perfect but helped me a lot😅 So i thank Jimmy Chamberlin for making me sit down and learn from his 10/10 creative work! Cheers!
Nice video, but too many camera cuts. These videos are awesome for learning the song, but so many cuts made it obsolete for that purpose. Other than that, great drumming!
