They do say you can't go back....But that album and tour DID work. I saw them live and a lot of the old vibe was still there....The subsequent giveaway music didn't.....And I guess he's still finding his feet with the new band.....He's STILL one of the greats no matter what some folk say though.
surely they aren't the same that some years ago ( also if i think that SP's best line up was: Corgan- Iha- Auf Der Maur- Chamberlain and not with D'arcy), but i saw 'em live in November in Milan and they're still great....at the end they have the same great musicians and Corgan plays as God as early years
when the head is not prepared for success that's what happens, d'arcy and chamberlain couldn't handle it and thats why they broke up. i am very thankfull they did not ended and that billy continue to put that genius of his into work and bring some of the best music that i've ever heard!!
"also if i think that SP's best line up was: Corgan- Iha- Auf Der Maur- Chamberlain and not with D'arcy" - Have they even recorded one single song with Auf der Maur on bass? - I don't think so...
I wouldnt fret about the line up changes.William Corgan will get the band he needs. The new drummer is incredible just gotta let him spread his wings on the next album.
