Smiths are amazing and the guitarist Johnny Marr is one of the best rhythm guitar players EVER. He wrote all the songs as Rhythm guitar songs and gave the cassette to Morrissey…and then Morrissey wrote the lyrics and sang it. Great review!
The best band of the 80's along with Joy Division/New Order. Homo sexuality wasn't very popular back then, due to AIDS and what not. In my opinion, this song is one of lead singer's Morrissey's take on trying to be straight. His sexual ambiguity was a big topic in the british music press back then. According to Morrissey, celibacy was his solution. Apart from that, anyone can hear that the band were fuckin' brilliant. Thanks for reacting, sir.
