Take me out tonight Where there's music and there's people And they're young and alive Driving in your car I never, never want to go home Because I haven't got one Anymore Take me out tonight Because I want to see people And I want to see life Driving in your car Oh, please don't drop me home Because it's not my home, it's their home And I'm welcome no more And if a double-decker bus Crashes into us To die by your side Is such a heavenly way to die And if a ten ton truck Kills the both of us To die by your side Well, the pleasure, the privilege is mine Take me out tonight Take me anywhere, I don't care I don't care, I don't care And in the darkened underpass I thought, "Oh God, my chance has come at last" But then a strange fear gripped me And I just couldn't ask Take me out tonight Oh, take me anywhere, I don't care I don't care, I don't care Driving in your car I never, never want to go home Because I haven't got one, la-di-dum Oh, I haven't got one Oh, oh And if a double-decker bus Crashes into us To die by your side Is such a heavenly way to die And if a ten ton truck Kills the both of us To die by your side Well, the pleasure, the privilege is mine Oh, there is a light and it never goes out There is a light and it never goes out There is a light and it never goes out There is a light and it never goes out There is a light and it never goes out There is a light and it never goes out There is a light and it never goes out There is a light and it never goes out
so many comments about love and stuff.... doomers seeing things different right here; the night shifts, 4 am walk, the cigarettes... just gather and chill (alone ofcourse)
the smiths are so underrated edit: i posted this a year ago to say that not many people listen to the smiths rn. yes ik they were big in the 80’s and that they broke up. idk why y’all are taking this so seriously.
Indeed He is. Morrissey in this song alludes to relational love transcending life itself, but our concept of love is informed and gifted to us through the example of God’s love for humanity. We crave eternal companionship, to be unconditionally known and desired, because God endowed it upon us, and praise Him that He did! Jesus’ death on the cross is the ultimate expression of this steadfast and enduring love
Beautifully written comrade, and me too, this song is attached to many good times and memories with my ex and past friends that have long passed, each went our own ways or fell off for one reason or another, things will never go back to how they were and that's the hard part, getting to accept it, we. Never really truly appreciate the moment until it's a memory
