Great to see Mark fishing a Hardy Ultralite rod and reel combo. Didn't expect to see that in Orvis World....lol.

My father and I spent four days at The Lodge At Palisades Creek in May 2022. I caught one monster after another. All inclusive. The lodge is so badass. I discovered it from previous episodes of the New Fly Fisher. The guides will literally pick you up from the shore by your cabin if you want.... or your porch. You eat Elk or Bison or some wild game in the evening. All amenities are on site. Fly shop, bar, restaurant, rec room with all the booze. Treat yourself and go. Even a noob could catch the fish of a lifetime (sometimes several in a day). It's close enough to Idaho Falls airport. The scenery from the back of the Tetons is incredible. Go try it. I am not affiliated with the lodge in any way.

the A frame has a live camera set up on you tube. So when you at work you can still see and watch the river and watch guys in boats come down and miss fish.HA HA HA HA

Check this out, great film & content. Keegan is an outstanding outdoorsman, & an all around great man. Keegan is one of my best friends, he taught me how to fly fish, tie flies, how to read the water, & shared with me his true passion.

Honest question, “shouldn’t fisherman be dispatching the carp?” Idaho fish and game is spending millions on cutthroat trout restoration.

Kyle, good question and not a one we're totally familiar with for this specific river. Guides at lodge would know, have heard of similiar situation for rainbow trout on some rivers as well.

So, the white tipped fins! Was that a bull trout? Because, it didn't look much like a Brooke.

Nice video Mark 🎣. Sorry too dis YOU. I unhook my fish in the net , with hemostats. Not putting my hands on the fish if possible. As touching or holding a fish. Is like someone picking you up, with red hot irons for hands. Remember the temperature of that water, that they live in. A lesson learned from the late GREAT John Willson 🎣

Andy, I appreciate your words here. Catch and release, as well as techniques to do so, are becoming more and more debated in our industry (which is good) This platform is designed for intelligent information, conversation and debate.. You aren't "dissing" me. I appreciate you. Thanks! Mark

I’m all for treating the fish as best as possible and to not harming them. I would say if your worried about the fish maybe leave it in the river all together and don’t fish for it because the whole process of catching it is traumatic for the fish. I don’t see anything wrong with wetting your hands, enjoying your catch, taking a picture etc and then getting it back safe and sound.
