This is a tutorial on how to make The Snap N Go Wallet. This is a raw edge project suitable for non- fraying materials.
The pattern comes complete with comprehensive instructions and fully digitized pattern pieces which are available in both A4 and Letter sizes. Also included with your pattern purchase at no extra cost, are SVG files which have been tested on Brother ScanNCut, Silhouette and Cricut.
Cutting measurements and labels as well as a projector file (thanks Brittany!) are included, too.
You will find the measurements are provided in both imperial and metric as well. The pattern has my usually full comprehensive instructions with heaps of photos, too. A text only version is also included for printing purposes.

The knobbly bit of the snap is referred to as the male piece (has an outy!), and the button side is referred to as the female piece (has in iny!!).

Thanks Chris! Great tutorial🙂 One question if I may - what’s the best way to remove glue off the clear vinyl please…(asking for a friend😉)

lol yes a “friend” of mine had the same issue! 🤣😜I think it depends on the glue but my “friend”, was able to remove it with acetone nail polish remover but I do recommend testing on a scrap piece to make sure there is no reaction.

Hi. Love this tutorial. Can you please advise what glue you use ? I'm presuming it doesn't gum up your needle. What size needle too please ? And where do you get your snaps, and from where please? Sorry for all the questions 😊

Thank you. I use a permanent fabric glue which dries fast. It will depend on your location as to what brand might be available to you....and no, when it is dry, it doesn't gum up the needle. I usually use a size 14 Jeans needle for these. The snaps I use are from a supplier I bought from ages ago. They are no longer operational however I think you can buy metal KamSnaps. Google will help with that. :)

Hi Chris thank you for your tutorial. Where do you source your giardini base coat in Australia? I have just ordered some Angelus edge paint. Do I need to use a base coat with this?

Hi Sarah, I get the Giardini from Dreamy Bag Hardware. You don’t “have” to use a base coat but honestly it really does help to get a good finish. I use the dense base coat. It fills in the nooks and crannies so you get a nice smooth finish. It looks so much more professional than with just the paint alone (angelus or Giardini).

@@ChrisWDesigns Thank you so much for replying Chris! I immediately jumped on to Dreamy;s website but they appear to be out of stock :(… and can’t find it anywhere else in Australia!!!! I will continue my search!

I believe Inklings and the Kraken stock Giardini sometimes too but I don't know of anyone else in Aus. Keep checking Dreamy Bag Hardware as meghan does get it in regularly. It just sells out super quick!!

Instead of glue can you use DST?
@ChrisWDesigns
@ChrisWDesigns 11 месяцев назад
DST doesn't seal the edges of the cork, leather etc so you are more likely to get ratty edges after use and most sewable DST isn't permanent. Permanent DST tends to gum up the needle. I know some people do use it but for the best results, I personally don't recommend it.

Won't let me download free pattern says your website is not safe so won't let me order

That is weird because my website is secure (you can tell by the https: link as the ‘s” means it’s secure.) It must be something in your browser settings perhaps. Can you try on a different browser or a different device?
