I'm glad you posted this. I went to a gun show over the weekend and picked up some tools. One of which is a ratchet nearly identical to your grandpa's. It's not in great shape, but I've already planed to restore it. This was just in time. Give me a call when you're holding the wheel.

Fine job Junkie... I just did an Evapo-Rust vid on a hord of Garage Sale Snap-on...I killed it...probably over 200 pieces. I was cleaning my ass off for about two weeks off and on. And now...with a newly growing collection of Snap-on I've been on the hunt for it. Currently on a business trip and picked up a late sixties 1/4in drive kit...58 pieces total...presteen condition...doing a video on it now covering some of the oddball items. Hope you get a chance to see it. Should have it up by tonight! V/R Boxcar

Hey man great videos subscribed. That thermal imager is sweet. As i understand it, they show relevant heat to the surface you are aiming at meaning that if you are trying to find like a short to ground it will show up in the thermal imager because that wire or short is warmer than everything else around it

great video Junkiiii I don't have any Snap on tools from my grandfather. I was given all the wrenches with ford forged on them. I have them in a box put up they are pretty neat. The ratchet you have from your grandfather looks like the ones we used in school. I really like the older ones just like you memories. I have some of the well newer ones from the 80 s . I have the wear markes on them and they are still going strong well maintained. I have the power probe would like to upgrade soon. I also really like the light setup I can see it coming in really handy on your truck's with all the drop axles. I know some of them are a real pain to look in to see if the seal is wet. great job on the videos as always my friend... sorry I started to fucking ramble

17:58 --reality check - you will likely NOT use it for real work for a while. It will be used to wander around the shop taking heat image pictures of all sorts of random crap like your buddies head, or see how hot / cold the pavement is outside the shop....trust me I know....that's all I did when my wife got me one for Christmas this year! LOL. Seriously, once you do hit on a job that needs it, you'll be twice as happy that you have it! The first real work I did was proving out hydraulics issues on a machine. I was able to show pic's of each drive component, pumps and motors and verify no excessive heat. All even temps throughout system.

i hate the old snap on ratchets I have a few but the ratchet action sucks so bad it's rough and clankity I have 20-36 teeth and all are bad especially the back drag. They are tough though and will get the job done but I've put them on the back burner to my new fine tooth snap on, mac, matco, and cornwell I love them all. The older style 30t cornwell ratchets are my only exception they are smooth as butter more so than a dual80 and tough as nails. Church eBay for snap on catalogs there is a bunch on there cheap. FYI you can upgrade the tooth count on those from 20-32 I have. It's nice to have a piece of family history I have one of my dad's ratchets and when he goes I'll probably inherit his tools ,he has a lot of my grandpas tools from when he passed.

Maybe a good idea, why don't you ask your viewers to donate a snapon tool from each year to create a generation collection, I will donate you a socket date coded from 1980 to you if you would like it, t's a snapon impact socket my oldest one.

why would you be tapping the gear assembly into the ratchet with a hammer, especially if its a sentimental tool that belonged to your grandfather?your naame should be changed to the snapon flunkie, because thats some flunkie way to install ratchet mechanism, ive seen it all now!
