Peter Dinklage, King of the Dwarves, first of his name, breaker of job contracts, bane of his fellow Hollywood dwarves and puller of ladders up behind him.
The Wicked Queen wasn't wicked, Prince Charming wasn't charming, the Seven Dwarfs weren't dwarfs and Snow White isn't [redacted]. Was this film just meant for people that actively hate the original?
Disney should just pay Gal Gadot double to replace Zegler and have her play both roles. So the Evil Queen's greatest enemy is herself in sort of a poetic way.
That would unironically be better than this. They even have precedent of having mediocre actors play twin roles after The Acolyte. At least Gal Gadot is a nicer person than Zegler, since they want to go the "it's all about fairness of character" route. However, they'd never do this, cause it's Disney. Gadot being a tall, beautiful, kind woman, cast to play the villain, while Zegler was cast as the protagonist, was done on purpose. Hell, they would've used Amber Heard as Snow White if she looked as busted as Zegler.
It's sad seeing people shill so hard for an actress that was never a very good actress and is woefully average looking. Yes, I consider dark hair and dark eyes average because, by definition, it is because the vast majority of people in the world have dark hair and dark eyes.
The original snow white was a masterpiece and also a complete gamble. The amount of technological and animation craft innovation was insane. Walt himself risked the entire company on that film and he was in the editing room tightening up the film to the perfect pacing and length. Oh how far the disney company has sunk.
And based on this actresses comments, she hasn't seen the movie or read the original fairy tale. She regularly incorrectly portrays the plot. I doubt she reads at all.
@@lookoutforchris Why would she need to read? She's a Hollywood actress/Management Elitist Class now. They get their directives from globalists who tell US what we need to think and feel. Reading is for prisoners of wrong-think.
Gee i wonder why nobody is being nice to the movie...could it be how: 1. Main actress shat on the source material. 2. The company making the movie has destroyed their reputation 3. People are tired of remakes and souless reboots 4. The dwarves went from gender studies grads to plastic microwaved monstrosities 5. The actresses and company mocked fans and called them toxic 6. The film is riddled with fem in ist messaging and a lack of fe male kindness that made snow white in the first place. 7. The general ugliness and generic look of the movie. 8. How reboots and remakes are now expected to be worst than the thing they're remaking. No... couldn't possibly be that....must be evil hw-ite men.
@@bordocofrivia2896 what I find funny is people say that we need to leave Rachel alone and respect her first of all she’s been attacking people since her west side story days now it’s just gotten worse and she’s demanding respect. She hasn’t earned it. She hasn’t earned it and as far as Disney losing its reputation, you’re not wrong about that and this remake never never needed to be done in the first place.
As a German, I feel personally insulted. What has been done to the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm is a disgrace. Disney Please stop desecrating my culture.
Amazon did the same thing to the British with Rings of Power and Disney did the same thing to the Chinese with the live-action Mulan movie. Don't take it personally, they're just not capable of doing anything good. My question is: Why do these people still have jobs?
as a fellow german seeing this new live action nightmare of snow white makes me very sick... it makes me wish they rather did the thing that a german life action version did in that one they grabbed 7 beloved german comeduans to play the dwarves who pretty much took the main role and made it a fun story focused on jokes and silly situations it was a great movie
I've said this before, but I teach ESL to non-American elementary students. They have no idea what the Culture War is or any of this stuff. I showed them the Snow White trailer at the end of class last week to get their reaction on it. They begged me to turn it off before it was even finished, even booing one-third the way in. They memed Zegler and called her "Snow Ugly." Now its become a running gag that if they act bad or misbehave, I'll turn on the Snow White trailer. It's been quite effective at scaring them straight.
That's both hilarious and an indicator that there exists an objective/intuitive good that children innately know, and that modern culture is deliberately shunning.
A soulless remake, A actress bad mouthing the source material, And a company that claims to be for "marginalized groups", getting rid of 7 roles that could have gone to a marginalized group. This movie is the embodiment of hypocritical corporate culture.
Considering how Rachel Zegler took the Ghostbusters 2016 approach it isnt surprising how nobody has forgiven this movie. Seriously, from the marvels to the acolyte people are sick of woke actresses mocking everyday men and fans for not sniffing their asses the right way.
She’s still taking that approach. I mean she’s making digs at her costar for God sake via Twitter and Instagram and nobody is buying her fake persona of loves snow White now I’m a Disney fan no no no no no no honey no honey we know how you feel and well. Your mouth is willing to say what DisneyNOW want you to say your fingers are showing us who you really who you really want who you really are and who you always will be.
@@Leamichellefan2244 yeah,to certain points you could even argue the problems with casting her as snow white is less her look didn't match and more how she obnoxiously bash on the original Disney snow white
@@leobuana7430 I agree with you the personality definitely doesn’t match the singing voice does not match. I’m sorry but snow has a beautiful soprano not some pop diva alto alto vocal range. I mean you can’t get away from the look entirely because she called Snow White for a reason, but I totally agree the personality and the voice matter just as much if not more so wrong wrong.
This movie literally appeals to no one. It's not woke enough for the woke, since they removed the seven magical Starbucks baristas and Snow White isn't a trans-lesbian. It doesn't appeal to Disney Adults who just wanted a shot-for-shot live-action remake of the original (which probably would've been the smartest move if they had to do these live-action remakes), it doesn't appeal to normies cause it looks gross. And as a teacher, I can tell you it doesn't appeal to kids, cause they now know Disney sucks after three years of Strange World, Lightyear, and Turning Red. (They really didn't like Inside Out 2 that much either and thought it was mid.) This movie deserves to flop like Borderlands, but will probably flop like The Marvels.
@@MarvinPowell1 I just hope to heaven that we don’t see another TikTok trend like we saw with the little mermaid and you know what I’m talking about. That was oh my god that was unbearable.
@@vonshroom2068 Playing devil's advocate, there's still gems on there. It's not enough to just punish the bad, the good must also be rewarded so they have absolutely no excuse. Inside Out 2 just made 1 billion when every other infested Pixar/Disney product has made millions in losses.
Is it weird that the only thing I like about Rachel's Zeggler is the way she says weird? She's not unattractive it's that she is ugly on the inside and has no talent for acting. I got a thing for mean crazy girls. Still not gonna pay to see the movie I just like the way she says weird. I think it's funny and cute in a psychotic kind of way.
Zegler doing that stare with the one eyebrow arched just about destroyed my phone from that epic level of smug. I can't wait to see how much this bombs.
@@discatmatt if you think that’s bad close your eyes and just listen to the way she talks oh my God you wanna talk about smug yikes and the smugness even comes through when she sings yes people say she’s a great singer and maybe she is some extent but for a fairytale princess likes snow White no she’s not Snow. White doesn’t sound like some pop diva with an overblown ego has a soprano voice.
If Rachel Zegler thought that the OG Disney film was weird for the Prince 'stalking' Snow White (not even sure what movie she saw, because the prince only interacts with her twice in the entire film - first when he mistook her for a servant and a the end of the movie when he wakes her with a kiss - and Snow White was smitten with him in both cases!); imagine how she'd react if she actually read the original fable - where the Prince first meets Snow White after she was 'dead' (dude literally fell in love with what he thought was a corpse and decided to take both corpse and her glass coffin back to his castle. He only learns she's actually alive after one of his servants trips and drops their end of the glass coffin Snow White lay in, which dislodges the apple in her throat, breaking the curse).
@@frankf684 Regardless of what kind of story is is, Zegler comments about it proves she knows jack squat about the story (either the original take or the Disney version of it).
Every turn I look I read a different "original fable". First, the dwarves took out the apple, then Snow White herself did it, and now it was a servant tripping over her! It seems just about everyone but the actual Prince freed the apple from her. Next, I'll read it was actually the Queen who does so
@@jase276 There are several versions of the tale - but most don't involve the prince having to kiss Snow White to break the curse (that's only Disney). But I'm pretty sure none of them had the prince stalking Snow White (and Zegler claims) or the Dwarves living in caves (like Dinklage claims). Though, the mention of the Queen reminds me of the ending of the one I know - where the Queen is summoned to the prince's wedding party and sees his bride is Snow White. As punishment for her cruelty towards towards her step daughter, she's made to wear iron hot shoes and forced to dance until she dies from her injuries.
Their goal is to offend what they think is a tiny minority of the population - people who think marriage is between a woman and a man and who want to protect their children from predators.
On the producing/financial side it takes years to get the loans to bankroll a movie and once they're finalized the studio is kinda stuck and has to proceed before filming begins even knowing the film will fail. This is why we'll still see ESG-funded projects through 2025 and possibly into 2026 (assuming the studios still exist) because of contractual obligations signed months or years before the sea change happened.
@@Theranthrope They would save more money axing it. Marketing takes some of the biggest budget and they'll have to deal with that eventually. They're already never going to make even half of the budget back. Money laundering at its finest
Disney: Quick! We have to make reshoots of Snow White! The sane employee: Does that mean that the dwarfs will be played by actual dwarfs and Rachel Ziegler will be replaced by a pale actress who's more likeable than her? Disney: 1. No, we're gonna use CGI for the dwarfs and 2. You're fired
Gal Gadot is so much more beautiful than Zegler. Zegler has some weird Habsburg jaw thing going on, not to mention her eyes are social distancing like its 2020 again.
Zegler reminds me of those 2000s Geico commercials with the cavemen. "So simple, a caveman could do it." I know I'm not a Chad Cavill and all, but even I'm at least higher than a 4. And Zegler is a 4 in full-on makeup; I can't imagine how much worse she'd look as a non-famous person. None of us would be insulting her looks if her personality wasn't even uglier.
@@MarvinPowell1 exactly. I don't care if I am seen as attractive or not, but I'm also not trying to be on camera and gain status off of my looks. And I think when you put yourself in the place of wanting to make money off of your appearance, like actors do, shouldn't you at least be attractive?
Walt Disney and his Bros shed blood, sweat and tears to make the classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarves animated film painstakingly and its massive success kickstarted the entire company, making history. And now these fools seek to Tarnish it with their disgrace of a remake.
Yeah atleast they made something original back then. They created content that didn't exist. These losers can only make recycled content whether it's remakes, adaptations, sequels etc. They rarely make anything totally fresh & original
@@ProfessionalRacist007 Snow White animation really wasn't an original, was it? It was written by Brothers Grimm in 1800's. That said, Disney does make originals
@davidmun1601 The story was based partially on a play Walt saw when he was a kid, the ways on which it was original was: - It was the first feature lenght animation film, before it animation was relegated to small clips before movies. - It was his first film and the one that literaloy created the Studio. - It was the first film combining rotoscope animation with traditional animation. - It was the first time we saw human characters with the proportions of human characters not moving in a floaty way (thanks to rotoscoping). Snow White was unironically like Tron and Toy Story, animated cinema owes everything to that film.
@@davidmun1601 It may as well have been an original because even though it is influenced by Brothers Grimm, it is a VERY different tale. Though, I suppose that goes for most adaptations of the Brothers Grimm stories.
they love to claim to be "diverse" until it ACTUALLY matters (with the dwarves being cgi instead of real ones). Quite pathetic, or i quote "weird, weird!" Even if it's unlikely, I'd LOVE to see them try to raceswap Tarzan just to see how well that would be received!
I'm normal sized. Does that make me a magical creature? A burger-flipping orc? An unemployment check-collecting dark elf? A flatulent bridge troll? Tom Bombadil's burnout cousin Jim Bumbadildo? "Can I have my representation now, mommy?"
My favorite part was when the vertically challenged magical creatures (there are 7) paid the Beautiful Queen to trick "The Evil Bitch" Snow into eating a poisoned apple. I also loved the part where the prince realized that the Queen was the far better choice...
@michaelrondan9481 No, because Deadpool and Wolverine was greenlit by Bob Chapek before he was ousted as Disney CEO to have Iger return, and mostly produced by Ryan Reynolds; it's successful _because_ Disney had almost nothing to do with it. If Bob Iger was around, he would've never greenlit a Fox-Marvel movie, and Kevin Feige wanted to put She Hulk in the damn thing. In all honesty, they probably despise Deadpool and Wolverine because it makes them look even more incompetent.
The worst part about this whole debacle to me is the fact that Ziegler proved that she did not understand what Snow White was about. The whole point of the movie was the fact that Snow White wanted a family and wanted to be loved by someone. Through her kindness and Goodwill she got that with the Seven Dwarves who hit her and fought the evil witch for her. A sign from that and the difference in attractiveness between her and gal gadot, Ziegler doesn't even act like an actress that would be a good Snow White. She is basically acting like one of those passive-aggressive Mean Girls Who basically is trying to Bank off the fact that everybody wants to sleep with her
The original had some dark moments (the Forest, the Castle, the chase of the Hag) but tue color palette suited the moment, set a mood. It is wild how much knowledge can a company outright lose thanks to DEI hires.
Yes, it's about destroying the American fabric that keeps us bound together. It's about replacing our memories with their history. It's about creating new revenue streams, and erasing the old.
The Ship of Theseus, also known as Theseus's Paradox, is a thought experiment and paradox about whether an object is the same object after having all of its original components replaced over time, typically one after the other. This is an example of removing everything BUT the name and expecting people to still treat it the same way. I propose this: Snow isn't white, the Queen isn't wicked, and the Dwarves were replaced with CGI. Therefore, it is 'Snow White' in name ONLY and should not be treated as the same story in any capacity. Perchance.
Disney fell off when they decided to buy Star Wars, everything afterwards has been them desperately trying to reboard the runaway train running towards a canyon
It's always a bad sign when companies attempt to buy out existing talents/IPs instead of nurturing their own. That's the American way, I suppose. Solve everything with money, not effort.
Honestly, I thought Disney had finally just decided to scrap the whole thing. How silly of me to think they would actually just take an L gracefully and admit defeat.
More money in the Snow White money hole! Now remake it AGAIN, and put it in a cyberpunk dystopia and make the dwarfs like little robots! 🎩 🐍 no step on snek!🇺🇸🇭🇰
I think Zegler would do well in a remake of All Anout Eve. A movie about a stand in who weasels her way into a production then pushes out the star. ...they can call The Rachel Zegler Story.
The character's name is snow white. If she isn't played by the most pale skinned white actor you've ever seen, there is no movie. The premise of the film is snow white is the most beautiful woman in the land and her evil step mother is the second most beautiful. If either of those roles aren't played by some of the hottest women you've ever seen. There is no movie. Period. If they want to cast a black girl and change all the premises of the story, that's fine. Just give it a different title. Coal black or something. Then no one will care, there won't be any controversy and Disney might actually make some money from all the woke people.
Disney proved they can do live remakes with Cinderella and Beauty and The Beast. Sure those movies had their flaws but otherwise they were a lot of fun to watch. Now trying to watch a new remake with them is like a chore, like I just do not want to sit through that
