Glad Corey said it. This movie was forced to be completed because the studio wanted to salvage some money and so everyone was forced to complete their contracts. Its the sunk cost fallacy in action.

Even the director admitted that they didn't shoot all the scheduled scenes,because the studio wanted to save some money and they had to edit the movie together with less scenes then planned.

the val kilmer thing wasn't his fault. when they shot this he was going thru chemo and it effected his ability to speak. the director didn't want to fire him cause the didn't want to kick the guy when he was down. that's the one pass i will give this movie

@@Spewgo you do know movies are cast months sometime even over a year in advance. what's to say Val wasn't doing chemo treatments when he signed on. again you're not gonna fire the guy for having cancer it would be a pr nightmare. plus in retrospect it was a good thing he didn't because it not like Val was the one thing that fucked the movie...the movie would have been a shit show with or without him and on the other end if Val was at 100% his performance would have been wasted anyways. so the way I see it them not firing him was a very minor net win for the project because if there is ever a project to not be at 100% it's this piece of shit.

@@Spewgo no, in Jan of 2015 he went in for tests. casting was done in Aug to Oct of 2015 and they started shooting in jan 2016. So it might have been March/April before the found the problem and started treatment. from there sure I'm willing to give that there would be a few month treatment of chemo before being cast and about 9 before shooting. 2 things you can put it down to. he throat wasn't that bad at the time of casting and in the time between he had a sharp drop off or he was bad and he got cast through his agent without having to read for the part and when he turned up on set in the shape he was in they could do fuck all about it

So wait, what happened was the studio didn't give them enough time to shoot the whole script, and then forced them to edit together what footage they had shot, even though the story was basically incomplete? No wonder it turned out so bad.

Val Kilmer filmed this around the time he got diagnosed with Throat Cancer. Which is why his voice was dubbed. But they could have replaced him, he was not essential to the role.

I am so sadden about Michael Fassbender's track record. He has such charisma and is deserving of better roles. However, with a string of misses including The Counselor, Assassins Creed, X-Men: Apocalypse, and now Snowman, I am beginning to think that he is not going to be cast in roles that are commensurate to his talent. I was hoping that he would be a front runner for the next James Bond, but given his string of box office failures, that looks more and more unlikely.

Kilmer has had to deal with a lot of physical treatments in the last ten years. He had a swollen tongue that was treated, so he doesn’t sound like himself anymore. That’s why they ADRed it.

I was so disappointed in this. This is the third bad movie for Fassbender in a row. Alien Covenant had a stupid reveal for the origin of the Xenomorphs and the main characters were so stupid. Assassin's creed was stupid. This movie was such a train wreck. Val Kilmer is suppose to be playing the detective that was previously investigating these murders. I guess he was getting to close and that is why the killer killed him.

Tomas Alfredson directed this. He tends to film movies with a slow pacing. He did Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Some people like that movie but I found it boring. This movie had such slow pacing too. Sometimes it made the movie feel bored.

The Snowman is one of my favorite "so bad it's good" film. Every time I've shown it to someone, we've all been cracking up. Terrible thriller, hilarious comedy. It's almost getting funnier the more I've seen it 😅
