I feel like someone ha the idea of the zombie tower and they lost sight of everything else they could've used from the book, my personal favorite being the comparison of the Battle of Yonkers to the later battles. It really deserves a Contagion style movie, where everything about fighting the virus is dissected and the crucial and interesting details are shown. The best part about its depiction of multiple narratives is you get to see the effects outside of one individual, you get to see the doctor treating "Patient Zero" and the first incidents that grabbed the globes attention, to the very end showing how the post zombie war world is very much different. Heck there's even a guy who tells his story from on the ISS, like how could the movie not use that-

As much as I like the movie, you cannot tell me that wall scene where those zombies fall from the top to the bottom then immediately break into a sprint was possible in the slightest. It doesn't say a thing about the virus strengthening the bones or muscles of those infected so a fall from that height would instantly break the zombies bones and tear muscles and ligaments, really just crippling the zombies and making them just a sitting duck waiting for the soldiers to pick them off

Yeah I agree, the book adapted to the movie would have been better, because all the individual stories gave it a lot more detail. And while in the book they did manage to restore the world somewhat back to normal in a few years, the governments of several nations where changed, and most likely zombies still underwater, and still in Iceland.
