Andrew Lamprecht, curator of historical paintings and sculptures at the Iziko South African National Gallery, reflects on our SOLO section at this years Investec Cape Town Art Fair.
SOLO seeks to more fully explore the artistic practices of artists working locally and abroad, through curated solo presentations. In its fourth iteration, the section will extend on Investec Cape Town Art Fair’s project, insight-out, which we launched in 2020: we invited artists from the galleries that were part of the 2020 edition to look within and engage with a playful Q&A that relates to the act of isolation, and the intimacy and introspection it comes with.
